I am a bit of a binocular junkie! I collect then as a hobby (30 in my collection)so had some experience in using them. These are my first pair of roof prism bins. Now then, how do these boys perform? A nicely armoured binocular, so will take a few knocks butDon't drop them from a height, they really don't like it. Optically they're not bad, they produce a fairly bright crisp image but there is a little softening around the edges but pretty sharp where you need them. These are superb for spectacle wearers, good eye relief. Focusing is smooth and ofcourse there is the diopter adjuster.Very comfortable in the hand and fairly light in weight.Nitrogen filled so won't fog up and waterproof to 1.5 metres, although I wouldn't go swimming with them! The supplied neck strap is ok but might be worth replacing with a better quality one if you're usingthem on a regular basis. I bought these for travelling but didn't want to spend silly money.Have just noticed the price has almost doubled in 24hours, just got in at the right time.Good quality construction and an acceptable image. Ideal for wildlife viewing,And in my case, aviation. If you want to view anything closer than a 4 metres, forget it.That's the only disappointment really. All in all, a nice piece of kit, handy having attached lens caps on the front end but they can be easilyremoved if required. These are a recommended buy but shop around, prices do vary.

I bought these as they are good for spec wearers - the technical term is "eye relief" and refers to the distance between the eyepiece lens and your eye for best viewing. These are 18.5 mm, and you need that kind of number or larger if you wear specs. If you don't they still work - you just rotate the eyecups out to suit. Not being an expert I read the reviews on a birdwatcher site and these were recommended as good budget binocs. Of course you can spend much more if you wish! I am very pleased with them, the image is bright and none of that rainbow "fringing" around the edges that you get with cheap binocs. The front lens caps are attached, and the rear lens caps are attached to the strap,so they won't get lost. Only slight negative is that the case is nothing special and has a zip top so a bit fiddly to take them in or out, but no big deal. Recommended.
