In a nutshell, the Braun Sixzero is a lot like a Volkswagen: Reliable, does the job well, has many well thought out details, but lacks the initial sex appeal of its competitors. In no particular order, I will list my experiences from using it so far:- The image quality in terms of sharpness and noise is comparable to the GoPro Hero2. As in, not bad at all considering the price. The field of view is narrower than the widest Hero2 setting however.- Handles dynamic range quite well, both in terms of over- and underexposure. The image is quite heavily gamma corrected in low light. While this helps avoid blocky / crushed blacks, the image is also noisier. Works best in outdoors daylight, like any action camera.- Its closest competitor, in terms of form factor and price range, is the Sony HDR-AS15. However, this camera has much more practical design: there is a tripod screw on the bottom of the camera, the bottom is flat, and the external microphone input is in the rear, so you can still mount the camera even when using an external mike, unlike the Sony. (However the Sony beats the Sixzero in low light performance, high speed filming, clean stereo sound and digital image stabilization)- The external mike input is 2.5 mm, so if you want to use some other mike than the one that comes with the camera, you'll need an adapter.- The microphone's connector looks stereo, but this camera only records in mono. It produces a video file with a stereo audio track (two channels), but there is no stereo difference. The left and right channel have been hard wired together. Seems like a design flaw.- Overall, the sound quality is quite poor - it's only enough for very basic use. But this is the case with almost every action camera out there. There is a constant, high pitched digital tinnitus in the sound, especially if you use the external microphone. And don't expect much sound at all if your camera is inside the waterproof case. If you want pristine sound for your action recordings, you'll need to use a separate audio recorder.- The camera has a built in preview screen, which is a big plus. HOWEVER the screen stays lit during operation and there is no option to make it switch itself off. This can compromise the battery life. You cannot use the camera for an all day time lapse without external power, because the screen just drains too much power.- There is a wireless radio remote, but its range is quite limited, you have to hold it quite close- The camera comes with a good sturdy set of mounts for bike handlebars, helmets, suction cup car windshield mount and a waterproof housing. Thanks to the universal tripod screw you can mount it pretty much any way you wish using any standard camera mounting gear.- Battery life: very good. The battery also works well in cold weather (tested this for two hours in a Swedish winter day). As a nice detail, this camera uses standard Nokia BL-5C batteries, so it's very easy to find a replacement.- The framerate is rock solid - there are no dropped frames (I have a VIO whose framerate seems to vary very unpredictably)- Much less rolling shutter effect than in many older generation action camera models. Excellent!- The field of view is not as wide as in some other cameras, but it is still fairly wide and enough for most purposes.- It appears to have a fixed white balance setting - it cannot be changed. It works well outdoors, but indoors everything gets a very yellow tint, especially in fluorescent lighting- The camera confirms your every action with very loud onboard speaker sounds, including a very loud low battery warning. This is good when you're in action in a noisy environment and need feedback of your actions without seeing the camera, but it can get jarring if you want to do a long time lapse in a quiet place. There is currently no option to disable it, or adjust its volume. I am unaware if firmware updates will become available later.- The camera uses MicroSD cards, which are not included. Make sure to purchase one with the camera. There is an onboard memory available for very short test recordings.- Mini USB, wall socket charger and mini HDMI cables are included. When you plug the camera in to your PC or the charger, you need to select the appropriate option from the menu (data transfer, shut down and charge only, stay on and run on USB power). All in all, this is a competent and well thought out action camera even though I may not initially seem like so.

OK so I have had the camera a couple of weeks now so wanted to write a review without the rose tinted glasses on. So instead of "on my god what a great camera. Can't wait to try it" I have tried to use it in a variety of situations to give you a good idea of it.As has been said the instructions leave a fair amount to the imagination. You can download them direct from the Braun site so take a look.So to add some detail here are my thoughts of where they are lacking1. The camera needs to be switched off BEFORE you put it in the waterproof case. The case works the camera with a small magnet so when you slide the yellow switch forward it switches the camera on and starts recording. Then when you slide it back it stops recording and turns the camera off.2. The external microphone is pretty much useless when not in the case and also has an annoying click almost like its clipping out for noise. It's not the noise and watching other videos on you tube it seems to be an "undocumented feature" so to speak of the camera. I tried the camera on my motorbike in the case and the sound does come through OK on that even though the internal mic is sealed in the case so that's good.So onto the actual footage. The handlebar mount does wobble but any decent editing software can get rid of that until a better solution is found.I recorded some motorbike racing with the external mic with wind sock plugged in and it captured the noise very well. If only the smell of the two stroke and the odd burning four stroke could have come through too that would've been great.Changing from light to dark on twisty tree lined roads didn't seem to phase the camera switching fairly quickly from one to the other with little fuss. As has been mentioned before the battery seems to give you around 2 1/2 hours after a full charge which is OK forwhat i need. Although i am plplanning on getting an external battery pack as a back up.I have also used it as a dash cam which you can set as the other mode which records one minute chunks of footage. When you play these back from the camera menu they splice together almost seamlessly. You can then choose which ones you want to keep (presumably with the bad drivers or accident in them). So overall I am very very pleased with the camera. It's very light and comes with a few decent mounts etc. The remote control is very useful too especially when in dash cam mode. Just saves having to reach up to switch it on and off.Definitely recommend

Exelent video quality, easy to use plenty fixings for any use. I think the sount quality is not as good as it could be when used in the car but this could be the car rather than the camera, very good battery life and extra batterys are cheep and easy to get hold of. As I bought this for use on my motorcycle im not too conserned with the sound. A very good camera for the price which I would recomend.

This worked straight from the box and gives good results. The only negative is that it does not have anti shake ability. I use it on my motorcycle engine cover which is solid so its ok but I first tried it on the handle bars and the shake is a problem. If its used on a helmet I'm sure it would be fine. Overall I say that its very good value for money sports camera.

Very good camera for price. Clear picture. Good selection of mounts. It is good to have a remote but you need to be within ! metre of the camera.Generally very pleased with purchase. Only slight downside is the written instructions are not very clear and difficult to follow.Would recommend this camera.

Such great quality device for not a big price! Full HD, 60fps video looks great even in poor light conditions. All included accessories are well made and very useful so no necessary to buy any additional stuff. It's compact, light and easy to operate. Very happy with the product.

Not as sophisticated as GoPro or Sony cameras but for the price excellent value.Box also contains many mounts.I use it on my bike and the best feature is a loud warning when battery is run down. Thus with a 32G card in you can swap batteries every 90 mins and record all day.
