If you are needing a replacement carbon fork expander or you are in the middle of your own bike build, you can buy this unassuming little item with extreme confidence!For such a small seemingly unimportant bike component a carbon fork expander is the difference between you bike rolling stably or not. The expander placed inside the carbon...(or aluminium) steerer along with the top cap work in unison to cinch everything down and tightens your headset so you don't get that horrible feeling when your headset moves against your forks on the frame.In my experience there are good quality expanders and poor quality expanders.I needed a new one when I changed the stem on my Cannondale Synapse and during the course of me adjusting and tightening everything once the stem was installed,the stock Cannondale expander, made by FSA I believe, failed on me. The top cap allen key reamed the thread on the expander and could not be tightened down sufficiently to hold everything securely.Having done a bit of research to find a replacement the BBB one here was chosen partly because of its much longer length and different set up on the top cap ( I prefer a screw I can physically tighten down). Its about twice as long as the one I have replaced so in theory will expand over a much bigger area in the steerer. It also sits itself on the top section of the head set steerer so will not slide down before tightened and you know it is installed and reinforcing in the correct area of where the stem covers the carbon steerer.Once received the quality of the item is obvious too. Far more robust than the Cannondale offering and easy peezy to install.Everything feels extremely secure and safe now I have installed it. The spacers I have under the stem have stopped rotating now so I know there is pressure being placed on them. I couldn't stop them moving round before even when the set up was apparently sorted.Great item and all I can say is buy with confidence if you are looking for one of these. The price is good too for such an important bike component.Highly recommended

Note that the top-cap may well be different to the pictured one (I bought the black version), but the build of the compressor matches the photos.I had to replace the stock compressor on my bike because it kept getting slightly loose after just one ride; I put this in, torqued it correctly, headset has remained in place and stable for almost a year now. Perfectly fine, the design seems to spread the force well yet still grip sufficiently.

Nice. Haven't used it but it's got to work.....I guess. It will be going on future frame. It is nicely finished with good instructions
