These boxes are really clever and you absolutely don't need any parcel tape which is amazing. They arrived flat packed inside a lesser quality cardboard box which was securely watertight in an outer plastic bag so there's no chance of them arriving soggy. These are very large boxes. About twice the size I found most useful on my last house move. Most suitable for relatively large or lightweight items like pots and pans, children's plastic toys, clothes. CDs and books would be far too heavy in this volume to carry comfortably. They are strong double walled cardboard which can withstand knocks and minor holes without damaging the contents. The boxes have lots of space to write on the contents list with your sharpie pen and lots of handy pictures to tick the contents. The bottom was very easy and intuitive to put together and the cardboard ends up being folded over to 3 layers in the base which provides some reassuring extra cushioning. I'm not sure I'd put my best china dinner service in this thickness or size box but for most non precious items these are great. The lid took a bit of puzzling out. You have to tear 2 flaps away from the main body of the lid and then tuck the outer flaps through the hand holds from the outside of the box. It works really well holding everything together securely and no problem from the second box onwards. The handles are a bit rough to carry/hold as your fingertips grate against the unfinished double walled cardboard edge but that is a minor niggle. The next time I move I will be searching out more of these boxes in a smaller size and perhaps get one more of these sets for outsize items. This is kind of completely square coffee table/ bedside table height and proportions. You'd kind of fit your watering can in here diagonally with other objects shoved around the edges.Highly recommended to avoid hours of where's the scissors, parcel tape? And that tape noise. It also means that these can be easily flat packed again with no damage. Good luck if you're moving!UpdateIn use I'm finding the handles rip upwards when the box is full and lifted - I'm being careful not to put anything too heavy in them. You may want to put some reinforcing brown tape in this area before use.

These are top-of-the-range cardboard boxes, there's no question of that, but are they worth the top-of-the-range price? Quite probably, if you want a hassle-free move. They are huge. They're so big that although they are definitely very sturdy, if you're planning on filling them to the brim with heavy books then bear in mind that you might end up with a huge box that's too heavy for you to lift. They feel sturdy. Apart from the base which is triple-layered, the sides aren't especially thick, but they're made of a strong cardboard that's not going to buckle or rip easily. Obviously they're not damage-proof but they're pretty good.Assembly-wise, I'm going to sit on the fence and say that I've seen easier boxes to assemble, and I've seen harder boxes to assemble. It's well worth getting the hang of it though, because once they're assembled, they've got what I'd say was this box's biggest advantage- the fact that you simply don't need to use parcel tape. They are strong enough, and lined enough, that you can be confident of lifting the boxes and shunting them around using just the folded-over cardboard lid. You'll save a few pennies on parcel tape if you get these boxes, that's for sure. So, very large, and very quality. However if you're planning to move house and you have a lot of stuff, then the cost of these boxes could quickly add up, and if you're not thinking of keeping these boxes as a long-term investment (or something in the attic) then you might be better off with something cheaper and weaker, just for economy's sake. If money's no object though and you want a good cardboard box that'll last, this is a good choice.

These are huge - capacity 104 litres, it says, which doesn't mean all that much to me, but internal dimensios (that is, measured on the inside of the box) are 46 x 46 cm (wide and long) and 48 cm deep. These boxes can take pretty large objects, much bigger than the other 'bankers boxes' from this company that I have been using so far - those are mostly for books and papers and smaller heavy objects. I would use this for large, not too heavy objects: the bottom is triple-layered once you have assembled it (took all of 30 seconds) but the handle-holes did tear a bit. Also this is *very* expensive for carton boxes; but they are excellent boxes, so four stars in all.My credentials for judging: I am in the middle of moving, and over the last week I have filled forty-eight smaller boxes!Update after the big move: the handles have torn on quite a few of these boxes, as I had overloaded them. This overloading is all to easy with these being the size they are... you have been warned!

Does anyone remember those old tea chests that seemed to exist for no other reason than to assist in house removals? - well these have been designed to be their modern day equivalent.Robust, solid, deep and wide, these are bigger than most others in the Fellowes range of storage and/or removals boxes - and consequently are more expensive. They also appear to be ideal for storage (particularly for books - which is what I'm using them for) and they come with super-strong 'handles' for carrying.Absolute quality - and great for delicate objects, if you're moving house.

These obviously come flat, but it doesn't take long to assemble them, although I did find the picture instructions slightly baffling at first and it doesn't help that they're on the lowest part of the sides. They seem stout enough, because with a box this size you wouldn't want to put in too much heavy stuff or you'd never lift it,but I'm sure these'll take enough weight to tax even the strongest removal man.Being cardboard, albeit pretty thick, they're nowhere near as robust as a real tea chest, but they're good enough for most purposes and I'm happy enough with them.

The boxes are made of sturdy corrugated card board. The instructions for assembly are reasonably clear and are printed such that they remain visible throughout the assembly process, which is good. The lid has been cut so that flaps fold into the hand holds, making it more comfortable to lift the box when full.Care must be exercised if loading the box with books and other paperwork, as it is not possible to lift the box if filled much beyond half full.Overall these bankers boxes are well designed and useful products for moving or storing household items.

These are very sturdy boxes, although they come with a set of assembly instructions that left me scratching my head until I could penetrate the secrets within. Once you get past the relatively awkward origami of construction, you end up with big, sturdy boxes that could realistically be used for even heavy contents. They're too big to be realistically useful for books or DVDs, but for kitchen supplies or the like they'd be hard to beat.

The box is sturdy as expected, easy to assemble as mentioned in the instruction printed on the box. I bought few other boxes from Amazon previously and they were awful so I had decided to spend a little bit more for this. However, the handle is easily broken when the items are heavy. Avoid using the handle if the box is heavy.

These are expensive, but I found them incredibly useful when moving, as it just helps to have things in uniform boxes, with easy handholds, and a top, so things don't spill out. Just don't get them wet and they're stronger than they look. Not a good idea to fill with books though - not that strong!

These seem to be very good so far. I have unpacked the boxes and they were easy to assemble and seem quite sturdy and capable of storing a variety of items but not recommended for books due to the size of the boxes as they would be very heavy if filled with books. Good for clothing, crockery etc

Used for moving house, handles prone to breaking even with box not overly heavy. And at a fiver a box ,I had hoped they would be slightly sturdier. They did the job tho, but some needed to be carried with the underside of the box,as the handles began to rip.

7.11.2018

I like the design of the boxes and how you don't need to use tape, my only criticism of them is that where the handles fold in, the cardboard easily tares when they are full especially if you have to drag a box, other than that they do the job well.

They survived two big long way transports. Hoping to use them for third however some of them needed tape for second use just on a handles. Good even for very heavy stuff. Dont pull them on the floor by handles that was when they broke.

fantastic quality very easy to assemble large enough to hold a k mixer in the bottom with all the attachments and some other items as well .... Very very strong boxes

Good size and quality. Were used to help son move house. The handle grips are o.k.if the box is lifted, but are not very strong if the box is pulled along.
