After reading the reviews on this helmet i thought that it was a gamble to buy it. But I did it anyway. And I'm glad I did!The helmet is a surprisingly good quality, and to all the wonderes out there. YES! It comes with a Y-strap!My head is a size 59, and I bought the large version. Fits me perfectly.It's also correct that this helmet is shipped in a box that is waaaaay to big for it's size. But the it's the product-box from the factory, and NOT Amazon! I ordered a few other small things with it, and they put in the box with the helmet to stop it from knocking around. That's pretty good and innovative service.And also.. It's a freaking helmet! It's built to be dropped on the ground,

I purchased this helmet for my 9 year old son in hope he would wear it as he thinks bike helmets are extremely uncool to wear when out with his friends. Upon seeing the helmet he was more than pleased and agreed to wear it as he said it was trendy and in fashion! So now I can rest in peace not having to worry about a serious head injury if he comes off his bike.The helmet itself is very well made and of good quality material. It fits my sons head well, I did need to tighten the straps up under the chin quite a bit to make the helmet secure.My son says it is comfortable to wear and has not made any complaints about it yet.

I wasn't sure to buy it as does not seems great. I was wrong. It is nice, comfortable and fresh. Moreover has a smooth surface for a camera and opaque black. I am lucky, I didn't have to try its resistance ;)New update: Unfortunately I tried the resistance thanks to a black cab. I must say that it is a great helmet, indeed it did protect me! I suffered from a serious bike accident hitting my head to the pavement. I will buy it again because after a crash it is recommendable to renew the helmet. I'm surprised how this helmet did an excellent job. Moreover it is TÜV certified and a peace of mind.

Bought for my 8 year old son for his first mountain bike! It fits nicely and comes with some additional padding to help the helmet sit correctly on the head. The straps are easily adjustable and he can easily put it on, strap it up and release it himself if he needs to - his previous helmet he needed help from time to time to take it off. Its a lightweight composite material so feels light but also feels sturdy and strong to protect its valuable cargo.The matt black finish is also pretty cool and at this price its hard to beat.

Bought to replace the 'lycra-loonie' style one lost when my last bike was nicked (I hope the wee scrote who stole it forgot to wear it when sliding under a 22 bus in the snow)This looks and feels like a proper helmet, ideally suited to an old guy like me. If I had ANY less than positive comment to make I would say if in doubt as to whether to buy the larger size, I would say go for it as the product comes with plenty extra padding.Because of the traditional styling, not as much wind or rain gets through.A good alternative.

Just received today - impressions :- good fit (I have c. 61cm, so L fitted OK, after some strap-fiddling); came with extra padding; apparently 'works' for 5 years - this has a label for 2017 - so what happens in 2yrs time - it starts cracking (?!); Brand that arrived was 'ETC' as someone else had, not the 'Apex' as per advert; design/fit seems same so not bothered about sending back - YMMV. I see others now of similar design and similar delivery timescales, but £-£4 cheaper... so not sure I'd recommend this?

I bought this helmet for my son to use for rollerblading and riding his bike. I looked around at several more expensive helmets before finding this one and buying it as it was the cheapest in this style (BMX). My son has a 56cm head and we went with the 54-58cm size, which fits him perfectly. I have to admit I was very impressed with the quality of the helmet straight out of the box, as I was a little apprehensive due to the price. Delivery was also quick from Amazon. Buy with confidence!

Little adjustmest for the circumference of your head but fortunately not too loose on me.Seems like a solid lid but I would probably recommend another helmet that has the bit that winds at the back of your head to tighten it. Especially for children, safety should be the priority not the cool flashy looks of a BMX style helmet.

We bought this Helmet as part of a safety kit for our Grandson, as we had bought him a Skateboard for his fourth birthday. The size was perfect for him, fits comfortably and he was very thrilled with it. The material is very durable and should last him a very long time. This was indeed a great purchase, we are pleased with it.

Having tried helmets on in Halfords I reckoned my head was around 60cm because the Halfords medium (56 - 59cm) was very tight. Anyway I ordered this Apex helmet in (58 - 61cm) and it fits perfectly, is very nicely made and comes with some spare padding. Amazing for £12.

I bought this for my 9 year old son, he's wanted one like this for ages but I always thought they were too expensive so was delighted when I found this one at a good price just before Christmas 2010. He loves it and I'm really pleased with the quality and the price!

I got this helmet for my 10year old son who was very keen on BMX biking. It looks good on him and is hard wearing, and definitely gives excellent protection for his head.I can see this lasting a while - and us passing it on when he grows out of it.

Bought for 15yr old son who wouldn't wear a helmet.Bit trendier than the conventional ones and he's very happy with it!So now safer riding his BMX so mum happy too!Fits well although the padding is bit thin, but he says it's comfortable enough..

As a condition of buying my 8 year old son a BMX for his birthday I told him he had to wear a helmet. I shopped around and found this one on Amazon. So far so good, fits well, very sturdy and much better value for money than others I found.

Smashing helmet for the price. Arrived well on time and looks really smart if you want a change from the more traditional style. I put some great transfers on mine and really souped it up. Cracking wee helmet. Really pleased.
