I bought this switch for 802.1Q VLAN support and I was (eventually) not disappointed - for the price it is only a bit more expensive than the similar TP-Link and Realtek offerings, but doesn't have many of the short comings that both suffer from (notably no HTTPS, cant change management port vlan). Some bad points; The web GUI is pretty terrible, the documentation is also terrible (often incomplete and in bad broken english), there are also not much in the way on online guides video or otherwise specific to this product. There is a video series by the manufacturer but its subtitled and not spoken also in terrible english.Additionally with my unit it was running firmware from 2016 and quite noticeably much of the GUI text was white on a white background (so couldn't be read without highlighting with the mouse) - this prompted me to look for firmware upgrades, and a brand new (but nearly just as terrible) GUI was released in the latest firmware dated in early 2018 - which made the whole experience bearable even though the gui still looked like something out of the netscape navigator era.On the plus side the iGUI is designed around many concepts and workflows as found on Cisco switches, the VLAN configuration will be fairly obvious if you are familiar with configuring cisco switches, and it has concepts such as running-config and startup-config. With this brings a enterprise like feel (which if you work with enterprise often means difficult but flexible), For the VLANs for example you can set the PVID separately from the Tagged, Untagged or Excluded status - something that some consumer managed switches avoid due to its complexity. But as I say this brings flexibility.Seemingly the product supports a good array of some advanced features not included on other brands, such as port spanning/mirroring, loop detection, port security, spanning trees, Dynamic VLANs, a few QoS features and more.I've only had it a day and a half so far - if it breaks or becomes unreliable then I'll come back and update this review. At time of writing there was only one other review which harshly critiqued the returns/warranty policy with one star, didn't detail the problem he had with the switch, but linked an image of an email where the company was asking for the broken device to be returned as they had already sent out a replacement - he seemed to be unhappy to pay postage (fair enough) but all in all this product isn't really enterprise and sending out a replacement before receiving the original is rare in the consumer world these days.

I'll be updating this review as I ago as I've had it since yesterday and only updated the IP, Password and User information.Firstly its fast, communicating and moving between pages of the web portal is impressive especially with only only a 10/100 usb network connection on my laptop. However the switch is noisy and not meant for SOHO unless it is in a separate server room (SOHO small server room commonly called a store room). I am surprised when I read through all the literature that this switch does not run its fans in 'As Needed' auto mode. With the rising ideology of server rooms running greener and being able to run the various kit in low powered 'auto' modes until needed thus traffic, heat, power and noise is reduced, this switch would not fit the criteria for being in this type of server room (certification for this type of room will probably arise in the future). There are health and safety rules and concerns especially about noise, where I used to work we were advised to wear ear defenders when being in the server room for a period of time ie more than 5 mins. You could stop these fans from running by unplugging them from the board (I haven't been able to do this as taking the lid off will probably in-validate the warranty. Using a fan reduction device ie. a screw driver shoved in the fan slot is NOT ADVISED. I've initially marked this switch downa star for Zyxel being lazy with noise and lack of fan control.Look back later on as i said i'll be updating this review.

The 24 port fanless switch has been perfect for my needs. Since setting it up 4 months ago, it has maintained 100% uptime and has caused no issues on my network whatsoever. A nice bonus over some other 24+ port managed switches is that it's completely fanless, so no added noise and no mechanical parts to maintain. Under normal use it only gets slightly warm to the touch. While the web-based management GUI certainly isn't the flashiest out there, it gets the job done and contains the main options that most users will be looking for at this price point. There's also a basic command-line interface available over telnet. For those who "get" networking - or want to learn - there are a decent number of options for QoS,VLANs, link aggregation etc, along with a reasonable status page. Note that the status page is the only way to check the connection speeds; the physical LEDs on the switch give no indication of speed.Overall, this is a perfect switch for advanced home networks & home labs. You can pay much more and get the proper "enterprise" features from some of the big name brands - but unless you have a specific need for those extra features, this switch is probably going to deliver better value for your money.

I already had a 8 port POE+ version of this switch so bought another of the same brand when the need arose.the requirement was for a minimum 8 ports but not to necessarily waste a POE capable port for the uplink. even though the documentation states that the 2 SFP+ ports are for fibre connections a normal 1Gb RJ45 type SFP module works just fine. Doing this enable me to effectively have a 10 port switch without wasting a POE port for a nonPOE operation.Warranty wise i cant complain a previous non-POE version of this switch became unmanageable after a year. Contacting Amazon about the issue resulted in a no questions asked money back offer so i could put it towards the purchase of areplacement.

Great switch, probably overspecified for my requirements. Includes capability to break up your LAN into separate networks "VLAN", to specify priority for some devices "QoS", and link aggregation. I can't comment on the effectiveness of these features as I don't use them. However, as a silent, reliable switch with the ability to monitor ports it's great. If I had any complaint it's the minor one that you can't tell from a glance whether links are running at gigabit or megabit speeds... to know that you have to open up the management web page and hover over each link on the webpage diagram.

Purchased this to add PoE to my home network specifically to run 5 IP cameras. Cames with a surprising number of features for the price and is easy to manage through the web interface. I have been running this for the past 18 months and it has not skipped a beat. Cameras always up and recording so the power delivery seems to be perfect for a home system

Use this to power my VOIP phone and PoE Raspberry Pi cameras (which use PoE hats). Lots of bells & whistles for just a little more than an unmanaged switch. Cost/feature ratio makes this a really good value. For my day job, I'm a certified network engineer. By disabling & re-enabling ports, you can reboot connected devices

The 24 port fanless version of the switch is great (some of the negative reviews are for other models). It's silent and it's management features are quickly accessed via a web interface (easily put 4 ports into an active 802.3ad trunk for my NAS). I'm using it as the core for my home network. Stable and good value.

It does exactly what it says it does. It has a good web interface which is easy to use. It defualt to jumbo frames and that's not adjustable but that's not a big deal, no serial but you can backup and restore configs easily via the web interface. It is small and fanless.Worth every penny!

Brilliant silent 1GbE switch - very happy with it. Has all the features I need in my home setup. LACP lag, logs to syslog, snmp, port labelling, fables, decent intuitive webgui, SSH access with familiar CLI command set. Very pleased with it. I've had it running for over 3 weeks.

It is excellent network and powered ports power phones wireless access devices without them needing separate power supplies. The units fans work all the time at full power and there is now controls to reduce the speed so the unit is noise than expected which is a shame.

Great switch. Has many enterprise features but SOHO price. Fairly easy to setup, good diagnostics that allowed me to deduce problems in network ports and cables. Plugged it in and have almost forgotten about it. No fan means no noise and lower consumption too.

29.8.2019

My only gripe with this switch that it is a little noisy due to the cooling fans. I would not recommend for an office which is very quiet. Installation more suited to a Comms room.

Have a pair of these to power CCTV and vlan the home network to keep the different networks separateZyxel always delivers excellent performance

Not many fanless 24 port GbE switches out there. This just goes on working and doesn't get too hot. Good price and recommended.
