First off, I have to say this is close to taking the price for ridiculous packaging by Amazon: First, the clips are attached with straps (which need to be cut open with a knife or scissors) to a piece of cardboard which details the product information etc. - as you would expect. Then it is stored in a box - which makes sense so they don't break during transport from the warehouse to the customer. BUT that box is also boxed and wrapped in a second - much bigger - box and when I received it, a relatively small product that is probably appprox 15 x 10 x 5 cm at the most was delivered in a box measuring probably some 70 x 40 x 15 cm...Anyways, on to the product: Once you have released the 5 clips (2 small,2 medium with magnets and 1 big without magnet) from the straps, they are ready to use and come in handy for kitchen use such as clamping together open bags of salad, nuts, pasta etc. or you can hang the clips on the fridge to hold slips of paper, tickets etc. The medium and large clips also have a hanging hole in the top part where you can put a line through to hang it where the magnets are either not strong enough to hold a larger weight or where there is no place to put the magnets. It's good for e.g. photos, tickets, bills etc. maybe in an office environment. The magnets are pretty decent for their size, but they are small, and I would not trust them to hold much weight for long. Also, the colouring is not exactly neutral, but my kitchen is pretty colourful anyway, so they fit right in. But that is likely not to everybody's taste.

What’s good:4x of them are great for the fridgeGood quality3x different sizesWhat’s not so good:Magnet position can make fridge-use a two-handed affairBright styling might not be for everyoneQuite priceyThese are a handy accessory to have in your kitchen. You can keep bags and packets closed with them, or you could hang them from a hook with something attached to the clip, or you could attach them magnetically to your fridge for holding onto non-adhesive paper notes. We immediately put these to work to tidy up our fridge and they are smart and presentable. Some people might not like the bright colouring of the clips, but in my relatively eclectic kitchen they work pretty well.I also have some Joseph-Joseph brand implements that are similarly colourful but I can appreciate an argument for more svelte styling depending on your preference. There are three different sizes of clip provided, and the largest of the three does not have a magnetic back so can only be used for normal clipping duties. The others fulfil their function well, but I do find that the position of the magnetic disc makes it so that you can’t just push down on one half of the clip to open it without risking detaching it from the fridge, so you’re best going for the pinch maneuver with finger and thumb.A cursory glance at other ‘magnetic fridge clips’ or similar such terms reveals a few other options, so take your pick depending on requirements.

I initially thought these clips were a little on the pricey side for just the 5 you get in the package. Having used them now I'm changing my mind. The clips come on a card and are connected by that horrible plastic strip stuff that you need to cut off with scissors. As there's also a bag around the whole thing, it does seem a little like overkill, but as they're kitchen based and you're probably going to have a pair of kitchen scissors handy, I'll let them off. Just be prepared if you do buy these. There are 3 different sizes of clip here; a large one, 2 medium clips and 2 small ones. The large and medium clips have slightly extendable handles which makes opening the clip easier. The medium ones and small ones all have magnets on the back in the middle (under the handles) and so can be stuck to the fridge. This is ideal for keeping shopping lists but does need 2 fingers to open the clip without knocking the whole thing off, as we found out.The large and middle sized clips are perfect for keeping cereal and other bagged goods fresh. They're a little expensive for keeping lunch bags sealed, though, and I'd recommend only using them around the house. That said. they're sturdy and clip really well. The price point is still a little bit of an issue, i'd have liked to see more of the little clips in the pack, but other than that these are great quality and really handy.

This is a set of 5 plastic clips in 3 sizes, useful for sealing packets, holding memos to the fridge, etc. The medium and small clips have nice strong magnets which can hold a few school newsletters without falling off every time the fridge door is opened. The medium and large clips have holes in the top - they can be hung on a hook for e.g. holding tea towels or plastic bags. They also have extendable grips, making them a little easier to pinch open, and/or to fix on a hook. The clips arrived fixed to a card with those extra-strong plastic cable ties that ruin your scissors when you cut through them. Please, no.The clips are edged with silicone plastic where they grip the package etc.,making them less likely to tear or damage it. They are nice bright colours and look good on the fridge. The springs are pretty strong, and I don't find them very ergonomic - you have to press quite hard to open them, then they almost stick fully open, and then they spring shut with a strong snap. They hold quite strongly, making them useful for bulky or stiff packaging such as a bag of dog food, pasta, etc.I like the appearance and the strong magnets, but the very aggressive snap-closed spring means I will only use them when I need something stronger than a clothes peg.

These clips are nice and strong, and you can extend the handles of the medium and large clips to make it easier to open them (very good for the elderly or for those with a weak grip for whatever reason). The handles also have studs on so that they don't slip in your hand, and the small and medium clips also have magnets on them so you can stick them on the fridge. The medium and large clips can also be hung on a hook, as there's a hole in the middle of the extending grip. The thing I like best about these clips is the rubberised jaws, which means they're non-slip and can clip onto plastic items securely.I dropped a star from the rating because the packaging was a nightmare to open,it took me a full 10 minutes to remove all the clips from the packaging. Apart from the piece of card they were clipped on being very thick and covered with plastic, making it very hard to cut with sharp scissors, each clip was tied to the card tightly with very strong plastic ties and it was extremely hard to angle my scissors in to cut the ties (please see photos to see what I mean). Zyliss needs to learn from Amazon about "frustration-free" packaging, this was worse than those horrible plastic packs that have been moulded around the product, and that's saying something.

I would never have considered paying around £10 for a set of 5 clips. I make-do with paper clips and bulldog clips that I've acquired over the years. These, however, are revolutionising the kitchen, and I'm very impressed. They are incredibly well-made with attention to detail that is surprising for such a mundane item. They are easy to squeeze open with grips in exactly the right place with a rubbery ends for gripping whatever items they are applied to. The magnets work well and enable four of the clips to be quickly attached to a metal surface (usually the fridge). At the price, you won't want to lose any of them. The bright colours help with this, but I'll have to be careful not leaving any of them attached to something I lend or give away, otherwise I might not get them back! Another downside was the unfriendly packaging, clearly designed to display the clips in a shop and not really considering the consumer who has to spend five minutes separating them from the plastic and cardboard. It took a lot of effort with a big pair of scissors.Would I buy them now, knowing how good they are? Yes.

This is a really clever little set. Many of us have magnetic message clips on our fridge, that aren't suitable for food use, which is a nuisance when you need one. Equally food clips that don't have a magnet aren't much use if you need to put a note on the fridge door. This set combines them both, with four of the clips having this dual purpose. The largest clip doesn't have a magnet but it does extend to form a hanging loop, so that it can be placed over hooks, making it suitable for holding towels or tea-towels without a suspension loop. The purple and yellow clips have both hanging loops and magnets, and all clips have soft silicone grips so that they don't slip off the plastic bag/fabric/paper.The largest clip is big enough to hold pet-food bags closed, the next two are suitable for flour and sugar or freezer bags, the smallest clips for small freezer items or for holding notes on the fridge. There are cheaper sets available, but they don't have the versatility or quality of these, which are an attractive, colourful kitchen addition.

These are brilliant multi-purpose clips and I love the bright colours! All but the largest one have magnets built into them so that as well as using them to seal packaging, you can also use them to attach things to the fridge or freezer. The three largest, alternatively have a hanging hole so you can use them to hang tea towels or cloths that don't already have a hanging loop.A great design feature with the larger 3 is that the handles extend making them easier to pinch open and they also have a nobbled textured effect on the handle to improve grip. The closure has a good rubbery silicone layer so it grips really well.I find these great for closing cooking ingredients like sugar, sultanas and flour; so much easier than trying to sellotape them closed.Really well designed, multi -purpose and lovely fun colours!

These multi-use clips are perfect for any kitchen. You'll receive 5 strong and well made clips of 3 different sizes. The 2 small and 2 medium clips also have convenient magnets on the back so they can be kept on the fridge ready for when you need them (or even used to hold useful information like shopping lists / invitations etc). While the 2 medium and one large clip can actually hang from a hook so are very versatile. The rubber edges on the clips mean they grip really well but can also hold more delicate things like photos without damaging them. The clips aren't in danger of slipping off once you've attached them since they're so strong and I think they'll hold up under a fair amount ofpressure without breaking.

These are for people who, like me, normally use washing pegs to secure packaging and are interested in something a bit better! The medium and small clips have a magnet that can be attached to a fridge, the medium and large clips feature extendable parts that make them easier to pinch, decreasing the force needed to open the clips out. This is most useful in the large clip, which is also the only one that doesn't have a magnet. There are so many uses for these – anything that you'd use a peg for, though these are a wholly better solution. There is a small strip of rubber on each clip edge which grips well onto plastic packaging, so they won't slip or pull off without a struggle.

Excellent clips.Well made as you would expect from Zyliss. The jaws have soft seal plastic lips to hold the paper.Used the big one first time on the key hook on the door to remind me to do the fishtank.Despite opening and closing the door, it stayed intact and readable. Some have holes to hang on hooks and the smaller ones have magnets to stick to the fridge, very handy when things need to be targeted for consumption or reminders to feed the dog!Excellent and attractive clips and certainly look better than rusty bulldog clips.

The rating is for functionality, but not the value. There's nothing astonishing about these. They're well enough made and do what is intended - ie, they work to keep open bags sealed and the contents fresh. They really work well and I don't see them breaking. The only issue is £10.99 (as they are) is quite a lot of money. That said, I've bought loads of cheaper versions of this kid of thing in the past and they've turned out to be absolute garbage.Probably worth it, but dependd if you want to spend the money.

I can never find a clip to hold a bag closed when I need one,so the fact that most of these will stick on your fridge is brilliant;they are always to hand! These are so pretty and colourful, they look really good on the fridge, and they're very strong as well. The medium and large magnets have a pull-up bit that makes them easier to open and close, and enables you to hang them on a hook if you like. Why has no-one thought of this before? It's a fantastic idea, and extremely practical.I would heartily recommend these.

Simple and effect, these bag clips from Zyliss are just the thing for open bags of pasta, bread or just a bag of crisps. These clips come in 3 different sizes, 1 large 2 medium and 2 small, the medium and small sizes have a rather convenient magnet on them so can be attached to any steel surface. These clips are fairly strong and the handles also extend outwards so those with reduced grip can open them more easily.A great idea that also means for use not having to buy zip seal bags on a regular basis.

23.5.2016

The clips are attached to the backing cardboard sheet with strong plastic ties so you need a good pair of cutters to release them. The clips are made from a strong plastic with softer rubberised jaws so they grip well. The four smaller clips have a strong magnet so they can be used to hold messages on the fridge or can be stored there ready for use, the larger clip doesn't have a magnet, we found it an ideal size for our cat food bag. Well made, colourful and useful.
