I love cooking and was looking to get a decent set of knives for my new house.I looked around the shops and got a few cooking magazines and noted the high reviews the Henckels got.I was torn really between the Global knives and the Professional 'S'.After viewing them in the shop, I really wanted the Henckels as they looked more traditional and felt very balanced.Only thing was they were a bit expensive!However, thought I'd have a look on Amazon and managed to save myself £70.This set is great for a beginner as it has all the knifes you could need and I think good value.Only one note, Amazon say they are dishwasher proof but the leaflet in the package says they are not. Who cares any way,

The included sharpening steel (harder than the knives) rapidly returns the blades to business-ready.Sharp blades that hold an edge give every cook an advantage. The included user guide recommends handwashing, although the product description includes a "dishwasher safe" note.When it comes to knives, don't be guided by price alone. Invest in these, and you'll only have to buy once.

These knives are well balanced, comfortable to hold and very sharp. Makes cutting and chopping safe and easy. What more is there to say? There is a chefs knife, a carving knife, a small knife, a serrated knife and a bread knife - I use them all and with a steel, scissors and block the set is all most people will ever need. (Although I also use a filleting knife - Henckel Pro S of course). Quality knives like these stay sharper longer, sharpen easily and last a few lifetimes. See also the review that my great grandchildren will post in the future. So glad I invested in them.

Although not cheap for a set of household kitchen knives I would still recommend these because if looked after properly they will last you for years. The knives feel comfortably solid and well balanced in the hand and really are sharp. Furthermore, they maintain their sharpness really well. I’m happy with this purchase and wouldn’t hesitate recommending them. One minor gripe is that after only a few weeks the Henckels sticker is coming off one of the knives but this is too minor to even cost it a star.

I bought this set of knives about a year ago. I waited a bit for the novelty to wear off before writing review. But that did not happen. I am still just as happy using them now as I was a year ago. We don't cook a great deal but I would say more than average family. I did not have to touch them for a past year and they are still razor sharp as they were the first day. Perfectly balanced, razor sharp, perfect grip. What more do you want?Buy these and you will not regret it.

I have had these for a year and would highly recommend them.They are a great set of knives to use in the kitchen - sharp, well-balanced and look nice too.They look like they will last forever.

These are excellent knives. I have had a set for over 10 years and remain sharp. I therefore purchased for daughter, who is delighted with the. A very good selection of knives for most purposes.

I have had my knifes for 5 or 6 years some of the handle started to crack.. henckle replace within one wk.. the best service I have ever had from a company
