Firstly, this is a family-sized wok, and could easily be filled to feed four, or more if there are small eaters. It's heavy, in a solidly-made way - the base is very thick, and the glass lid also packs some weight. This gives a reassuring feeling of quality and craftsmanship. Taking it out of the box felt like a mini-gastro experience in itself. Us home-chefs love a new bit of kitchen kit, and with a highly-polished steel exterior this is the shiniest of my latest gadgets. For a high-end wok I was thoroughly disappointed to see my food welding to the base as I stir-fried. Never had this happen before, and I make a stir-fry at least once a week (in my non-stick wok). The rest of my cooking experience was marred by the thought of having to wash-up, and an inevitable overnight soak. However, I persevered, and when I added my sauce into the vegetable mix all the stuck on vegetables seemed to lift off the wok. Hurrah. What was then brilliant was being able to put the lid on, and let the sauce simmer away for a while without the usual stress of the inevitable cooker splatter. I took the time to check the base - it was laid perfectly flat on my ceramic hob. As mentioned previously, it has a thick base - this helps to spread the heat out across the whole base, not just the heating points, so food cooks more evenly. I was wary of touching the handles, as I am used to knee long handle, but I'm pleased to report that whilst they warmed slightly they did not get hot. This is handy for those who like to present their wok straight to the table for everyone to help themselves.I like the little metal ledge that comes with the wok. Not used one for a long time, but they are fabulous for warming Chinese pancakes or defrosting frozen spring roll pastry. I won't be using the wok to deep-fry items so can't comment on its efficiency for this, but I'd imagine it would be fine - it fits securely onto the wok, so no need to worry about it falling into the oil.I'm happy to say that washing up the wok was fine - I left it to soak for a few minutes whilst I washed up everything else, and all the food came off relatively easy. Also, added bonus that it can go in the dishwasher. For true aficionados of wok cooking, this may be brilliant. For the average household, it may be an expensive folly. Whilst I don't dislike this wok, I'll be going back to using my non-stick wok.

This is a beautiful heavy work that will last for years if you take care of it. It can be very hard to come from non stick to steel but what most people are not aware of is that you have to actually season your wok to make it non stick. You wash your wok with soapy water and scrub the surface with a steel scouring pad. Dont dry but chuck on the hob to dry on a low heat. When it has dried, take it off the heat and chuck in some oil, i use coconut oil, but its personal preference. Then throw it back onto the stove and turn the heat up to the highest setting and let your pan and the oil heat up until its smoking, make sure you swirl the oil around the entire pan to make sure the entire wok is coated and let it smoke, you may want to open your kitchen door for this one. Once the wok is really smoking and all the wok has been coated, take off the heat and pour the oil out and leave the wok to cool. Once it has just wipe the wok with kitchen roll and your pan is now seasoned and non stick. The one thing you need to remember from now on is that should never ever wash your wok again. I know that may sound disgusting but you should only ever need to clean it out with kitchen roll. If you chuck it in the dishwasher then you will have to season it all over again.Anyway this is a monster and will easily feed 6 people, the lid is a nice touch but not remotely necessary frankly as i do not ever intend on using it.If you are a regular cook you are going to love this and the outlay will be worth it because with care it should last your entire lifetime. Makes your kitchen look rather professional!

I've never spent more than £40 on a frying pan before, but that was when I was completely reliant on non stick cookware. Now that my cooking skills have improved, I can cook with stainless steel without food sticking, so I decided to invest in this, as I want something that lasts and is healthier without any non stick coating. This is a beautiful pan, and very functional. 2 handles means the pan, though big enough to make enough food for 6, fits right into my oven if I ever needed the grill the top. This is fantastic. I could never do that with non stick pans without worrying about what the nonstick does in the oven, and also most pans out there have only 1 handle, and a very long one at that,so they wouldn't fit in my oven. But this one does! It just does everything well! I just made a Thai chicken curry in it and it was great! Even heat distribution, that's for sure. I'm very impressed. May this last till I die, haha!

This is a fabulous pan. It has an very heavy base and is suitable for induction hobs as well and gas and electric. It sits very well and firmly on the cooker and does not shift while stirring. It is a fine , high quality pan ! it holds lots and allows stirring for stir fries without spilling out. The lid fits extremely well and does, sometimes, make a seal turn it off and the reheat to break the seal. There is every thing good about this high quality heavy stainless steel wok. just a great pan and great tool for a great cook. I love it and will use it for many, many years. The handles are am important feature as it is quite large and would be hard to lift with one handle. This way you can easily carry it to the table It is quite beautiful enough to serve from at table. I can not find anything I do not like here. I am a cook and use good equipment so this fits my needs very well indeed.

As far as I am concerned this is a top of the range flat bottom wok with plenty of weight to it. I have only been able to test it on an electric twirly element. The weight of the metal allows for heat retention. The very useful rack allowed me to rest utensils on it. The top as can be seen is see through and again of heavy weight construction. I can also use this for oven top dishes due to the size and thickness of the metal used. I have not tried it yet but I am thinking of doing a paella dish in it. I particularly like the top being transparent as you can keep the heat in whilst seeing how the dish is cooking. The product come well packed and does have a multilingual instruction leaflet.I am including some photos of the item as un-boxed. This will make a great gift too. I think it is well priced. Very pleased to have it.

This is a nice piece of kitchen equipment and I don't know how I managed without it .As well as its stated purpose as a wok it also takes the place of a frying pan for most jobs such as making paella and cooking large steaks. I use mine on a gas cooker and it is ideal . Using it on an electric hob would be no problem at all as it is flat bottomed and transfers the heat perfectly .The rack is a useful addition too and completes this fine set .

What does PACMAN cook with? A wok A wok A wok....Seriously, this is great. Heavy and heavy duty, I don't expect to ever have to replace this in my lifetime. Do follow the care instructions -- one should never wash a wok. Honestly great. I have a gas hob but it's flat bottomed so no problems with electric or induction hobs. I think I may well throw away all other pans.

This is a great wok. It heats up well and evenly throughout which means that turning is easier and it is made of a good sturdy metal. Good glass lid means that cooking can be watched from above. I really like it. There's a lot of room in it, so you can make a big meal in it. It would probably be good for risottos and paellas and any other one pot dishes.

it turned discoloured after first use, see pic. I didn't do nothing, just boil some dumplings in hot water, no fry, no oil, and cleaned it with a sponge while the warmth was still there. Now after a few uses, I notice the discolouration has been changing up to where the water lines were, and the part which was not heated with water remains.

Perfect for a big family this heavy base wok distributes heat really well and allows you to cook easily for between 4-6 people. The stainless steel look is visually appealing and the glass lid is great too although when I’m doing a stir fry I’ve never really used a lid.

Really pleased with this wok. It feels good quality, nice and solid without being too heavy. Looks very modern too, nice and stylish.Works perfect on our induction hob, heats up quickly and evenly. Highly recommended.

Omg I love this wok. I have been working with it a lot. It’s my main thing to use for cooking. I also came back to order the steamer and it’s taken it to next level. The delivery was the fastest I have EVER had. Omg.

I am not happy that the pan was badly scratched when we received it, I would have expected a much higher quality product for the price
