Zoggs Kids' DC Super Heroes Swimming Water Wing Vest - Batman - 2-5 Years/15-25 kgsI'm a big fan of Zoggs products. This is a super little swim training aid that goes well beyond the water wings I used briefly as a child. It helps children to be able to focus on their swimming technique rather than having to keep themselves afloat at the same time. My one niggle with Zoggs is that they do seem to go for stereotypical gender-based designs when toddlers and pre-school children with a choice of clothing that does not separate them into girls and boys.=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* Flawless finish, fabric and stitching* Brightly coloured good quality neoprene wetsuit material* Really useful aid to enable children to focus on their swimming stroke because the task of merely keeping themselves afloat is taken away* Easy to put on and take off (by the adult - the child could not do this themselves of course)* Seams are sewn smoothly so they don't irritate* Three layers of foam in the front and one layer in the back provides lots of buoyancy support* The foam in the arms is in separate segments, meaning children can move their arms reasonably freely* Matching products available (I also have the Batman ball for retrieving in the swimming pool)=== NIGGLES ===* It would be good to see some Zoggs designed that aren't so obviously designed for boys and girls - just children. These swimming aids come in either a pink mermaids design or Wonder Woman for girls or blue sharks for boys, Batman or Superman for boys. Let kids be kids, especially at this age.* These buoyancy vests should be used as part of a supervised swimming skills programme so children really do learn to swim better, rather than simply becoming dependent on buoyancy aids. We were only allowed to use those old blow-up water wings briefly because the aim was to learn to swim; of course actual water wings just keep kids afloat rather than helping them improve their technique.* There are 3 layers of foam on the front and only one on the back, meaning the child will by default float on their back; this would be good if this were a buoyancy aid aimed at supporting a child in an emergency (when you would want them to be able to float face up) but doesn't seem appropriate where you want your child to be able to swim on their front* Many pools aimed at children are pretty warm - too warm for me to swim lengths in - and exercising (swimming) while wearing a neoprene wetsuit with foam padding could mean your child gets hot, grumpy and tiredFor sale at the time of writing this review at £30.

Zoggs Children's Water Wings Vest - Age 4-5I'm a big fan of Zoggs swimwear, and they have some fantastic colourful and monochrome designs. This is a super little swim training aid that goes well beyond the water wings I used briefly as a child to really help children to focus on their swimming technique rather than having to keep themselves afloat at the same time. However, Zoggs could really do with some better designers for its children's range, to get away from the stereotypical pink/mermaid and blue/shark; this is not the 1950s!=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* Flawless finish, fabric and stitching* Brightly coloured good quality neoprene wetsuit material* Really useful aid toenable children to focus on their swimming stroke because the task of merely keeping themselves afloat is taken away* Easy to put on and take off* Seams are sewn smoothly so they don't irritate* Three layers of foam in the front and one layer in the back provides lots of buoyancy support* The foam in the arms is in separate segments, meaning children can move their arms reasonably freely=== NIGGLES ===* Old-fashioned colour scheme - pink mermaids for girls, blue sharks for boys. There's no reason for not offering these in less gendered colour schemes.* These buoyancy vests should be used as part of a supervised swimming skills programme so children really do learn to swim better, rather than simply becoming dependent on buoyancy aids. We were only allowed to use those old blow-up water wings briefly because the aim was to learn to swim; of course actual water wings just keep kids afloat rather than helping them improve their technique.* There are 3 layers of foam on the front and only one on the back, meaning the child will by default float on their back; this would be good if this were a buoyancy aid aimed at supporting a child in an emergency (when you would want them to be able to float face up) but doesn't seem appropriate where you want your child to be able to swim on their front* Many pools aimed at children are pretty warm - too warm for me to swim lengths in - and exercising (swimming) while wearing a neoprene wetsuit with foam padding could mean your child gets hot, grumpy and tiredFor sale at the time of writing this review at £13.99 (RRP £26).

Gone are the days of throwing your child into the pool after a rubber brick in the hopes that they can swim. Armbands and floats are old hat, you can get cool vests that have flotation elements within them. Zogg has not only made one of these, but also made it extra cool by adding the Batman motif. The 'Water Wing Vest' is a simple enough idea, it is a rubberised top that zips on a little like a reverse jacket and rather than putting on arm bands, you have floats incorporated into the top. This means that kids are not left with arm bands slipping up and down their arms. We also found that the floats covered more of the arm so it felt a little more balanced and that the front and back were covered.I would say that these act best as a swimming aid than as first floats. They take a little getting used to and encourage a swimming style, but if you are an absolute beginner, the assurance of a chunky set of arm bands is still easier. The garment is made with the usual high quality from Zog. The material feels comfortable enough and dries quickly. The stitching is very well done and the zip is strong. The idea of the Batman symbol being present may be a little left field, but kids do love it. You can tell the way that the logo is printed that this is a licensed product and it does not come across as cheap.

This is a good swimming vest. It differs from many other swimming vests because it has taken the concept of the original swimming vest (a lump of foam, to put it crudely) and improved on it to allow relatively free movement. They have done by firstly turning the arms into small sections of foam with gaps in between and secondly by turning it into a “crop top” i.e. it only covers the top half of the torso.Photo 1 shows the front and photo 2 the rear.Photos 3 & 4 show how the foam is cut away on the arms.Photos 5 & 6 show that there is a tab on hw rear over the zip to reduce the risk of it opening accidentally. They also show that there is a large flap of neoprene behind the zip which is critical as it helps prevent your child’s skin catching in the zip when you zip it up.The last photo shows that the front of the vest (at the bottom of the photo) contains much thicker foam than the rear (at the top of the photo) which makes sense as children will be learning to swim on their front. My son feels more comfortable in this than in his previous swim vest as it allows for relatively free movement.

This has been much better than armbands for my 3 year old, she's much more confident in the water and it provides an all around buoyancy. I personally find it much easier to supervise her in the water wearing this, and I feel she has a more natural sense of swimming with this than arm bands. The only problem is that it is very tight, especially as it is bulky with the buoyancy aids sewn in. I got the 2-3 years for my daughter who is just under 3.5 years and 16kg, so should be a well within the range for this. On the packaging it says it fits a chest size of up to 65cm. But my daughter only has a 51cm chest. As soon as this goes on she complains of the discomfort, which is largely forgotten once she is happy playing in the water but she keeps bringing it up so I know it bothers her. I would be wary of ordering online without trying on incase you have the same problem.Otherwise really happy with this.

My niece and nephew love the water, but like all little kids are a bit nervous around proper pools and like the confidence that water wings or similar give them. But they are cumbersome and can sometimes come loose or lose air.So when I saw this jacket with its flotation aids I thought it was worth a shot. I'm so glad i did, the kids just love it, not only does it help them float and give them that extra confidence they like, but they also like wearing it as they like the look - they say it reminds them of Buzz Lightyear lol!Of course you have to bear in mind it is designed for a certain size/age range, but if your kids are the right age I would say go for it,they should love it just like my niece/nephew do :)

My 2.5 year-old has just started swimming independently having been in classes since she was about a year old. She's very confident in water and capable of swimming unaided, but she also loves using this jacket. Particularly on holiday or where she's spending a lot of time in the pool as it provides her with extra bouyancy when she's tired. It's extremely easy to take on and off (even when wet) and my daughter doesn't seem to be restricted or uncomfortable in it. It also doesn't ride up like some float jackets do so is a good fit in the water as well as out. We've been quite surprised at how useful we've found it and would definitely recommend it.

This is a good vest to give the kids confidence with water, but I would not trust the devise fully and would always have adults nearby. This is no different to when they use blow-up wings or other. As to learning to swim with these, I don't see an advantage. Yes, the kids gain confidence, but they don't rest properly in the water and their movements are rather restricted at the shoulder/upper body area and in that case it is better if an adult holds them afloat while they have full movement of legs and arms. It's fine for play and for gaining confidence. But so are blow-up wings.3.5 stars.

I selected this zogg water wings float best for my cousins son. He is learning to swim but isn’t quite confident enough. This swimming aid gives him some security because of the buoyancy. He is 4 years old and the vest fits him well, he doesn’t find it uncomfortable to wear nor restrictive.Just to mention the safety warnings. Adult must be in arms reach, never leave your child unsupervised! This vest is a swimming aid and won’t keep your child afloat when they are not swimming actively.

Our daughter absolutely loves this floating vest. We've tried other kinds of floating swimming suits but she's never been very keen. This is also very ready to put on and take off compared to other full-on suits. This vest has also helped our daughter become more confident in the water.

This is a great swimming vest which is way cooler than plain old armbands. With its Batman design it will encourage superhero fans to get more confident in the water. It is very well made by a reliably good quality brand. Soft and comfortable to wear too. Great product

My son is 6 and about 20.5 kg. These fitted him well and kept his safe. His swimming has really come on since he wore it on holiday. Also bought the smaller one for my my 3 year old daughter and felt confident with her in the water.

A good product that’s reasonably well made and appears to be put together okIt’s made from a nicely coloured durable puncture resistant materialThe price is average, it’s reasonably good floatation vest

bought for my grandson for a family holiday, gave him confidence in the water, and less worry for us, but he was never let out of sight or in a deep pool, he could play happily in the child's pool

My son, 4 years old, uses it for deep-sea swimming. Causes no under arm rashes while swimming, light weight, dries easily and makes him feel like a hero... PERFECT!
