This scent starts out seeming quite subtle on the skin and you think it will disappear BUT after 10 mins or so it bursts out with a wonderful, complex floral/woody bouquet that lasts and lasts. Most perfumes fade out on me but not this one. Also, the scent does not decay as it fades, becoming powerdery or flat as so many more expensive ones do. It retains all its flowery notes. It is not over-bearing nor aggressive, but is subtle, unusual and sensuous, chic and very French.People comment on it as if they half recognise it and like it, but don't know it. This is becasue it isn't an 'obvious' scent like so many modern ones. It is cool, classy and restrained. Someone said it smells like 'silver dust'

Once in a while its nice just to treat oneself to a non-essential item,and Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche EDT Spray was just what I needed in this respect!! It had been a l-o-n-g day fraught with problems,problems,problems!! I went home,had a long soak in the bath and liberally sprayed Rive Gauche all over. And wow! I felt a new person! The perfume is just right,not too heavy,and not too frivolous. My advice is if you're feeling jaded and in need of a boost to your morale,then treat yourself to this Yves Saint Laurent EDT Spray,you'll never regret it !!!

Didn't really think that I am capable of writing a review on this magnificent Eau de. Massive in the eighties it was worn for fashion and sophisticated glamour by women. As I remember much to young at the time for the high, power flash lifestyle of the adults. It's Main ingredient is Honeysuckle, One of my floral favourites. This 50ml is the potion for Mum's Christmas this year. I know she'll remember how I became a higher calibre of person in a suburban town, stated in a fragrant signature she loves to wear, time after time. Thank-you YSL.

Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche is and has been my most favorite scent for many many years and I wear it every day. I have bought it on line several times from various what I count as trusted Perfume sites the last few years and I have last year received one that smelled not quite like it should and returned that one. Bought one from Boots instead. However I am with this one now kind-of feeling a bit like that too slightly? I have decided to keep it as it is pretty much as it should and maybe it is the real thing? Sorry.

I bought this item for a dear lady friend of mine I won't know what she will think of it cos it's for her birthday on 14th December 2018 but I'm sure she will be happy with it, my late wife used this perfume and it has a distinct aroma which can't be replicated by these cheap shop versions and I'm very happy with the price. It came all sealed in it's original packaging plus I also bought the bar of soap to compliment my purchase and I'm sure my dear lady friend will love that too

A beautiful 'retro' scent for anyone - not just women like me who remember this from their teenage years. The scent is unhanged and still as potent and intoxicating as ever. I wear this every day and know it; other scents can almost appear to fade as they are worn, but this is beautiful and I often receive compliments when I wear it.Still sold in a metal spray, which is light and convenient to carry.I love this perfume. It's a classic and you will love it too.

I cant get enough of this. It has such a delicate fresh fragrance which lingers but it is not overpowering. My grandchildren love cuddling me and say-"you smell nice granny". (hopefully I smelled ok before I used Rive Gauche). Perfume choice is an individual taste but I would recommend this if your looking for a delicate fragrance.

I bought this perfume as a gift for my mum. She's very pleased with it. As an avid user of rives gauche, for years, mum said that the smell was exactly what it was. I requested it to come gift wrapped and I was not disappointed. Package arrived with no damages whatsoever and way before expected. Will definitely buy again.

This perfume has been going for years but is not at all 'old fashioned'. I love it and, after trying many other perfumes in the past, have gone back to this one and now it is the only one I wear. I have received many compliments over time - usually similar to 'wow - you smell lovely!' - what more can you want?

I've used Rive Gauche since the late 1970's (off and on; but I always have a bottle available)Whenever I smell this I'm transported back to that time - such happy memories...You only need a little bit and it's very long lasting. Lots of people have asked what fragrance I'm wearing. It's a true classic.

I have always been a fan of Rive Gauche. Some people have said that the formula and hence the aroma has changed. I couldn’t notice any difference, smells like good old Rive Gauche to me.Light, floral notes with a hint of citrus.It's unmistakable in any room.I hope you found this review helpful.

The classic fragrance which is popular and provides a bright fresh tone enjoyed by the wearer and those in close proximity. Great product style that evokes the ' left bank ' culture of the past - stylish and innovative - I have two friends who wear this perfume, and they are both of the latter.

This perfume is Yves St Laurent quality but not cost ! When ever I use this perfume, I get so many complimentary comments ! My daughter in law also loves it so I bought her some, when she wore it my grandson said to her "You smell just like Grandma ", she took that as a great compliment !

This is a perfume I’ve used on and off for many years and is one of my favourites. I used to be able to buy it in a bottle without a spray but that’s not an option now. The perfume lasts for a long time so well worth the purchase plus I’m always asked what I’m wearing so good all round.

Great product an old time favourite which has a lovely fresh scent and lasts the whole day through. It has such a distinct bottle, slim no fuss design, with recognisable blue and black colouring, it's also not glass so no breaking if dropped. YSL favourite
