I am really impressed with this I must say.I was slightly dubious at first given its a bit of foam with a shiny side...however it's a good thickness (6mm) and believe it or not, the shiny side does actually work and helps to prevent from the cold and retain heat. The idea is to sleep on the shiny side. It's also really long, so an adult would have no problem using it if they wanted to. It is very lightweight and comes with two bands to keep it from unrolling.I bought this for my son camping at Beavers and he slept lovely on it, I also noticed that it was much thicker than a lot of the other mats that the kids were sleeping, so for the price of just over £7 I'm well impressed.

Bought for our 10 year old for her school camping trip. Didn't want to break the bank with something all-singing and all-dancing, this seemed like a good item with excellent reviews and a reasonable price. Has clips which keep it rolled up, and I was able to attach it easily to her sports bag. More importantly, she was able to re-clip it again easily after use and rolled back exactly to its original state. It was also incredibly lightweight, which makes a difference when you have a child having to carry her own camping gear! Her verdict was that it was very comfortable and warm, which is all you can ask for, really. She'll be using it for all her camping trips from now on.

Well after the kids the first time of using removed the clip that holds the band that keeps the mat rolled up was fixed. In the morning after use they said it was difficult to put the clips back in place with the bands.....Whoops the clips and bands are supposed to remain attached. Shame really a clearer note was not made on the mat. These have now been used on 6 occasions in the back garden for sleeping on and many more for laying the dolls out on during the summer they have turned out to be durable and good value for money. Albeit following the early abuse of removing the clips and forcing them back-on the corner of the mat in this area has torn on one of the two mats

This isn't a mat I'd choose for when the temperature dropped to minus double figures, but for a chilly spring/autumn camp, it'll be fine. I've had similar before and they do make a noticeable difference to your in bag comfort levels. Not too hot during summer if you turn the foil side down either. The strap elastics will tear off quite quickly through misuse/rough handling/stuff just happens, but keep hold of them for rolling the mat back up.Kittens love the crinkly tactile surface too. Chop the mat into four sections and you have pet sleeping mats/basket liners, pet toys, perhaps an addition to a tactile set for young or disabled children?.

I actually bought this to cut up to fit my vans windows, so in summer the sun will be blocked and reflected out when parked up.I haven't done this yet, but it is nearly identical to the one I used last year that did a great job of keeping van cool on very hot days, so if you are planning to use it as car shades then it should be ideal! If you want it for its intended purpose then it is what is advertised! I'd get a tape measure out if you are larger as it looked quite narrow next to a yoga mat. It's not ridiculously narrow, but I think some of us larger people would want something a little wider!Very good value and perfect for my use!

Been using this now for several years, pretty good at keeping the cold of the ground away from you. Not as comfy as an air filled mat or air bed but sufficient for most conditions, do make sure you choose a location relatively flat and without any stones or hard bumps though as you will feel them.Purpose:During camping a major source of heat loss is from the ground, as such a mat provides insulation between the camper and the ground, the addition of a foil improves the performance of a standard foam mat.Pros:CheapLightCompact (I wrap mine around the tent)Cons:Easily damagedNot as comfy as an air filled mattress

If you are a parent, it comes to a point where your child goes away with cubs / brownies / school and requires one of these. So you scour Amazon looking a various mats and reviews on which one to buy. Well I can save you the hassle...This mat is comfy, rolls up easy, comes with ties so it stores away easy and doesn't cost the earth. Is the length of a long adult and the width of Henry VIII. It has lasted several trips and is still as comfy as it was on day one.Look no further, just get it, job done, well recommended.

The mat arrives in it's own sealed bag, the thickness is 6mm thick, foil on one side and light blue on the other, the dimension is 1800mm x 500mm, it is light weight , and the strap are not too bad - can be rolled for storage.Overall a good price for first- time campers, and with free amazon delivery this is very good value- it may not be the best for mount everest conditions, but for any little campers, this will do fine for the price - would recommend - great price!

I bought this mat for my daughter, as she needed it for a Girl Guide trip where they would be sleeping on the floor of the local cathedral for the night. She tells me she had a good nights sleep and we are very pleased with the product and the price we paid for it. We were unsure whether the silver side was meant to go on the floor or on the top, so she just put it on the floor, as that what the other girls seemed to do. Would definitely recommend.

Could be thicker for more comfort and the foil did start to come away (just a little) by the end of a ten day hike in the baking sun. The heat was pretty tough though, I thought bits of me were starting to come away too, and for the price I was very happy with the mats performance in the environment it was in. I would still maybe take it on weekend camping trips, but never on a big hike again.

Had these for maybe 2 or 3 years, and they're still in good condition, I go camping maybe 3 or 4 times a year and always take them, the past few times I went camping I had an air bed, the second time my airbed deflated and luckily I had bought these with me so I wasn't on the floor for a week. They're easy to roll back up, quick to get out and fit on to most bags if you do it right.

I bought the mat for a week camping at the end of March / start of April. Having been camping on the odd occasion before, I know how cold the ground can get. It's not the comfiest thing in the world ( maybe throw an air bed on top of it? ) but it certainly did the trick in keeping me insulated from the ground. I will definitely be using this again and would totally recommend it.

This is not a comfort mat. It is an insulation mat and it does that job well. It is reasonably cheap, very light to carry and the elastic rollup clips are useful. They don't look too strong but I don't consider that to be so important. I would recommend buying it. If you want comfort and warmth though then maybe you should go for an inflatable style.

Very light. Have used in -6*C with icy 45mph winds outside on a summit and was totally insulated from the cold ground inside my tent with a 4-season synthetic sleeping bag. You can definitely feel the heat being reflected back. No issues with wear and tear yet after a few trips. Good at staying flat as long as you use it correctly - foil side up.

Bought to replace airbeds that keep puncturing and take so much effort to inflate.Used for a couple of nights and i could not believe how good it was.As they are thin i did not expect too much , but got a better nights rest than expected! Not sure I could do a long camping holiday on one , but then i am too old for a long camping holiday anyway
