A new bread of Yankee candle with a cleaner burn- so less sooty marks.Yankee are famous for their scented candles, they are affordable yet luxurious and have a wide range of utterly delicious, beautifully perfumed products- this Amaretto Apple falls into the food scents category and, like many of their candles, smells good enough to eat.The scent is a subtle spice with apple undertones. You get plenty of aroma from the candle just leaving the lid off. If placed in a small room without the lid on it will fill the whole room with its aroma.When lit the scent is not overpowering, but is strong enough to fill a normal sized room, if I leave the door to my front room open with this lit I can smell it in the hallway too.Design wise it is very attractive.It has moved on from the classic urn shape to acuboid which widens as it rises to the top, its a modern and minimalist style .The lid has a dual purpose, obviously it is a lid primarily and helps to keep dustand air bourne particles off the candle, so you get a clean burn, but it can be turned upside down and the candle sat in it when the candle is lit. This means that delicate surfaces have extra protection ( though the thick glass base doesn’t seem to get warm when it’s full, it may well do as the candle burns down) and it keeps the lid neatly tidied away while it burns- no misplacing it.It looks great when not in use, with a pretty chestnut colour and a lively painted fruit picture sitting behind the brand name.It makes a great treat for the home, or a lovely gift ( who doesn’t love getting a Yankee candle).

My wife is a big fan of Yankee Candles so was pleased to be able to try this Citrus Grove fragrance from the Yankee Candle Elevation Collection. The glass candle holder is designed to sit raised on the platform lid when in use, like on a pedestal, hence “elevation” in the product title. Like most Yankee Candles this one is rather expensive but is ideal to be given as a present to a special friend as it comes very attractively presented in glass giving it a high quality appearance. The Citrus Grove fragrance is one of four varieties on the same Amazon product page and is warm with lemon, pine and eucalyptus notes, but it is a bit more subtle than some of the more powerful spicy winter aromas you may be familiar with from using other candles.This candle is medium in this size – small and large are also available - and it comes in a classic Yankee Candle glass jar; the medium size candles have three wicks and a soy-blend wax so should hopefully burn for many hours. At around twenty-five pounds currently from Amazon this candle is probably something to give as a gift, rather than buy for yourself, and with Christmas just around the corner it could make a lovely seasonal present that would give much pleasure during the holiday period to come. Four stars for value and quality at the current price.

The Medium sized 3 wick Yankee Candle as shipped is very well protected; inside 3 cardboard boxes. As I unpacked the box I had a strong verbena type smell but that was just the concentration in the pack; in burning the smell was a lot more subtle. The 3 wicks have burned down evenly; Im hoping as the wax burns down the light output will increase; the first couple of hours it felt the candle was going to go out any second but it kept on going. So far the door has been subtle; which may be related to the slow burn but aside the first moment when you remove the solid lid and get a wash of verbena its worked nicely for me.The Yankee elevation candle, medium,is still quite a large candle compared to the ones you might pick up at the supermarket. The burn time must be at least 40 hours; so the high price is offset by the long life. The style of the candle Is quite elegant; with a sliver effecvt lid; that extinguishes the flames without a smoky wax smell in the room, and doubles as a stand to keep the candle off a surface. Sadly there is a sticker on the pack that I couldn't remove without leaving a bit of residue. I can't find a stated burn time so kind of eyeballed it after 8 hours against the overall size.)With a subtle smell and a long life this is a nice candle for the long winter nights

Yankee Candle Elevation Collection Scented Candle - Citrus GroveThis candle burns smoothly and safely in a glass jar resting on the lid. Mine has so far burned for many hours. The Yankee website describes the fragrance as "Like throwing open the windows on a sunny day - a breath of bright lemon zest rounded with soft pine and a hint of eucalyptus". It's sunny here today but they're muck-spreading in the fields on the edge of town and I certainly don't want a candle that smells like that!When you sniff the candle cold, it smells mainly of lemon and pine, and then when it's lit other fragrances come through including eucalyptus, cloves and cedar. It's a lovely combination.A couple of niggles.First, is this a soy candle or not? It says it's made of "soy blend" wax, but what else is in the blend and what are the proportions Is it 5% soy or 95%? If I'm buying a gift for a friend who wants to burn soy candles, will this one do? There's nothing in the online listing or on the Yankee website to say what the candle is made of - only the added fragrances are listed, not the main composition.Second, this medium-sized candle is currently retailing for £19.99 (the RRP), though at the weekend it was on at £24 and was on at £17 last week. If you want this candle, be aware the price fluctuates!

I've been a fan of yankee candle for years, although I feel they've fallen away recently with their strange need to "retire" some of their best candles while other makers have equalled or in some cases surpassed them.This candle is nice though. It's a very warm autumnal smell. The apple comes through strongly and is accompanied by a variety of spices although I'm not sure I could pick out amaretto specifically. The fragrance travels well around the house but never feels overpowering, even when stood close-by.The jar itself looks nice. The squared shape looks good and the lid doubles up as a stand which sets it off nicely.The stickers on the outside are all easily removed leaving a rather pleasing looking object.My only complaint with the candle is that the wax in 2 of the corners never melts and so the wicks slowly get lost in a tunnel of wax. We burn the candle for 3-4 hours at a time but this doesn't seem long enough to melt the whole top layer. I doubt that any length of time would achieve this.Overall though, a nice candle perfect for the autumn months.

This is a really lovely scented candle, it arrives in a well packaged cardboard box to protect the glass jar the candle is contained in. The jar itself is a slightly unusual shape being square rather than the usual round Yankee candle jar and has a lid with a silicone to seal stopping the scent being overwhelming when you do not want it to be. The lid can also be used as a base for the jar to sit on which means you are less likely to lose it, a real bonus in this household!The two wicks on the candle mean that they cause the wax to melt more evenly across the candle and also help to provide a stronger scent than a single wick alone. This doesn't mean however that the candle will not last,we have used this all over the Christmas period and it is still nearly full.We have previously found that some Yankee candles scents are a bit sickly and overwhelming but this one is not. It has a good balance of sweetness with other elements to balance it out.

Describing a smell is always hard, this is a sort of lemony limey cheesecakey slightly greeny sort of smell I guess, it's about as inoffensive as you can get so it's unlikely to be a bad choice for anyone.The stand/lid has a rubber seal on it which is weird but okay, it works fine, I don't know why you need a stand, I guess it might get hot towards the end of the burn. It fits snugly onto the stand.There's three wicks on the one I was sent (you can get different sizes it seems) - I have no idea how long it will burn for but it wouldn't surprise me if it was measured in days not hours. I've googled and I found some claims of around 35 hours, so ball park 50p an hour,isn't that bad although it is expensive for a candle (as is the case for all yankee products but I guess it's just what works for them).I think the only criticism I have is that as a candle it's not that decorative, almost utilitarian in its shape. Minimalist I guess.

This is quite different looking for a Yankee Candle. It’s similar in stature to one of the large candle jars but very different in design. The jar stands about 15cm high and has a tapered shape and an attractive brushed metal lid that can be used as stand to protect surfaces. At a weight of 552g, It actually holds about 70g less than the traditional large Yankee Candle jars. It still promises a 65 - 80 hour burn time, so it’s still a very substantial candle.It’s a double wick, which allows the pool of wax to touch the sides quicker and get’s the gorgeous fragrance into the room even faster. And it is a particularly gorgeous fragrance - very autumnal and festive with lots of cinnamon and baked apple fragrances.It’s time to embrace the autumn, and I can’t think of a better way to start! This is a welcome addition to my Yankee collection.

Like I have said in previous reviews on candles and fragrance, personal preference is key so I will advise on the scent for you to make an informed choice.I love orange so thus my purchase but the scent is very overpowered by the spice, albeit somewhat Christmas Spice like. You have the underlying aroma of orange which is soft and gentle but the spice is very powerful and covers the orange too much. It doesn't smell bad but just too spiced for you to enjoy the sweet citrus burst of orange through it.I gave this to my nan as I personally didn't care for it, ironically it was wonderful for her as she smokes the spice was somewhat neutralised and the sweet orange was able to fragrance the room.Perhaps this is a good smoking cover.I cannot recommend as it was not my Orange Delight but it was for my nan. So comes down to perference.

OK - price has to be first - I am quite surprised this is what candles cost - I usually use incense sticks! That said, I like the design of this candle, in a big square glass holder that has a lid designed to place the candle on - very clever, as I am not worried that it will burn my table. I could personally do without the branding so that it looked more classic - but I get why they want the branding on there. The scent is really nice - quite a subtle scent, but it's very pleasant and I prefer it to not overpower the room - certainly, I prefer this to the incense sticks I mentioned before.I am also pleased with how long the candle is lasting - and I love the three wicks idea .I would actually get this again and I also think it would make a nice gift if you were wanting something other than wine or flowers for a dinner or similar.

I have it for a couple days already and use it everyday. I'm probably around the 12th hour of burning and by all means it looks there will be 50 hours of burn more. It burns evenly but the trick is to let it burn for a long time so the pool of melted wax covers the top - around 4 hours at least.The aroma is not sweet and while burning it is not as sharp as it is while sniffing the candle up close while it is not lit. Still it fills a room with a normal size. Personally I like the aroma because it is very versatile. While it is pear and tea lea I don't associate it with food. You can leave the candle in whatever room you like if you just want to give it a sent that is inoffensive and you don't want to set a particular mood (for example Christmas mood or summer for that matter). It can even work as an office sent.

Unusual sounding scent (amaretto apple) but I do rather like it. Exotic without having that cleaning-product smell which cheaper candles often have.Is a decent size and will last a decent amount of time. The scent, certainly for now, is good and spreads around the room. I do find over time (if you leave them unused for years) the scent often fades into nothing. But I'm enjoying this so it will be used a lot including around Christmas. It does also scent the room (more lightly) unlit when left out on the table I've found - which I like.Yankee is a premium product at a price point that matches but the quality is good. I've used plenty of cheap candles over the years (including own-brand)and the quality/scent is usually seriously lacking.Would make a great gift.

Nice looking candle that smells divine. I also found the alternative glass jar shape more appealing.Yankee Candles provide good value in their mid market position, with attractive lidded jars and pleasant fragrances, although I would urge doing some in-store sniffing before purchase where possible to check the smell is to your taste.For best burning experience, keep the wick trimmed to no more than 3mm and use a candle snuffer to extinguish as that helps prevent the wax going everywhere.This is an attractively scented candle, perfect for dinner table, lounge, bedroom and as a secret Santa/stocking.The lid helps keep the dust off between burnings although this one smells so nice it is unlikely to get a chance to accumulate dust in this house.

The candle is very well packaged, double boxed, so if you're sending as a gift there's very little risk of damage.The lid has an inner silicone seal, so the aroma can be blocked if needs be. The lid can also be inverted to act as a base, although there's no chance of wax drips as the glass isn't filled to the brim. All labels, bar the one on the base, peel off cleanly from the glass which is welcome.The aroma, it seems to me, has over-tones of vanilla so it's more of a warming fragrance than a light, bright summer citrus fragrance. Ideal now the evenings are drawing in and quite comforting. The fragrance from the candle is noticeable, even without lighting the 3 wicks,while the lid is removed.

This candle seriously smells good enough to eat! I am a huge fan of the Yankee Candle so was extremely excited to receive one of these. The Amaretto Apple scent is gorgeous, not massively overpowering, but just enough to make you whole house smell amazing. I particularly love the fact that its red and has an autumnal/winter feel to it…perfect for the festive season. The large glass, double wick candle has a modern, classy feel and comes with a handy lid that doubles as a non-slip base for the candle to sit in. At £25.00 yes it is pricey, but if you are big into your candles, as I am then just for its size and luxurious scent I would most definitely recommend!!
