I purchased my first set of these Xpedo Spry pedals back in summer. I'd been using a set of magnesium platform pedals for nearly 2 years and was ready for an upgrade.. My needs for the new pedals were:1. Improved grip2. Larger platform for improved power and comfort3. Lower profile for better ground clearance4. Quality bearings and seals for reduced maintenance* All equally important.Bonus qualities that I expect from any pedal under consideration are lightweight and good looks. Good looks will fade fast if they work as intended and everyone wants lightweight.I narrowed the field down to 2 and finally zeroed in on the Spry. The professional and user reviews favored the Xpedo Spry.If the reality came close to the reviews, they should be great. When I received the pedals I was really excited, I couldn't believe how light they were. Yeah, I knew the numbers before ordering, the reality was still a surprise. And they sure were pretty! I couldn't wait to hit the trail and knock some of that pretty off! My enthusiasm didn't last long. Very early into the ride the pedals developed a bearing click and it just got worse, reminding me with every rotation of the cranks that I just got new pedals, pedals with no joy. I was far from home, was committed to the ride, but it wasn't as fun as I'd hoped it would be. I returned those and gave Xpedo another chance. As for the replacements? Amazing, awesome, great! Everything I wanted them to be. I've been using these for 5 months, a lot less pretty now, but functionally flawless. I do recommend these to anyone I meet needing new platform pedals. Get ‘em while they're hot!

I switched from "clipless" pedals to these platform pedals on my drop bar road bike. I looked at a number of flats before choosing. These are very lightweight (magnesium and a full half pound lighter than my original pedals), and have high quality bearings. They are large, giving my feet very stable support, with very good grip from the "pins." I can now ride in either street or athletic shoes, no need for special cycling shoes. I bought the silver/grey color because I saw photos of some heavily used black ones (ridden off-road, which I won't be doing) that had some of the finish worn off, and the bare magnesium was a silver/grey color, so worn finish won't show as much as with other available colors. These pedals are also much thinner than many more expensive ones. At first I thought these were kind of expensive until I researched a number of similar pedals the were priced at $100 to $300. These look great and are a real bargain.

I wanted to love these so badly but for my riding I am going to be replacing them on my main bike (these will go on my second bike). Good things, they are very very light, grip decent, and have been taking a beating pretty well. However they dont grip great. When riding DH double blacks and very technical areas the 7 pins do not hold as well as you want, I use 5.10 Freeride shoes and they have slipped off these pedals more times then I would like. If you are doing XC, or trail riding these would be great! But not for heavy DH/Techical rides that are bumpy. They did hold up amazing for what I was using them for so anything less they will work amazing and I don't have an issue recommending themto others.

All my bikes get these pedals! I'm not one to clip in and I think these pedals are super light, and strong. If you're the type to go for lightweight, you cant find lighter pedals at this price point. I ride around 2500 miles a year between work commutes in the summer months and charity rides on the weekend along with coaching the Special Olympics bike team in my area. My road bike is going on it's third year with these pedals and they have endured several centuries worth of rides. My commute bike gets the pedals stomped down on when that light turns green and haven't failed me yet. Very smooth operation and a lot of surface area to rest your foot on when cruising down a hill in a stand upposition.

Checked every box in my pedal search but I paid $70...went to reorder and the cheapest option was $95!!!I was switching from clipless to flats and purchased 4 different pedals:Wellgo MG-5Wellgo B196Race Face ChesterXpedo SpryLove the MG-5 but I feel the spindle in the midfoot. Chester's are still plastic at the end of the day. The B196 are a no go...too small even for my 10 year old. The Spry have a lower profile or almost concave profile and they are my first choice...but not at a $25 premium.

I would rate this a 5, if the spindles did not loosen. After about a month of riding on them, the started to have some horizontal give near the interior bearing. It isn't enough to worry about, because I test my items out thoroughly, but I assume it is because these pedals are so thin the force on the cross sectional area of the spindle is too much. I only weight 140 lbs, but i do take these pedals off 3 foot jumps as well.

Really light pedals that spin nicely. I have been riding them for a few months and they are holding up well. They do not have the grip I was hoping for even with 510 shoes. The spikes are not sharp and fairly broad preventing real bite into the shoe. My solution was to order M4x10mm set screws and a M4 tap to drill and tap holes to add 6 set screws per side. Now the pedals grip the way I want and are still very light.

If you can't stand clips of any kind, this is the way to go. Combined with 5.10 biking flat gummy-soled biking shoes they give a very positive grip and my foot does not move in my typical 14 mile work out ride. Quite thin and strong. Very easy dismount. Have them on a hybrid and on a FSB mountain bike. Love them. They are a little expensive, but I bought them twice. Pegs have not come loose in ~600 miles of riding.

Not quite as grippy as Spank Spike pedals but almost as light, just as thin and certainly more durable. I've blown up two sets of of more expensive Spank Spike pedals in short order (less than half a season each). So far so good with the Xpedo Spry set... a really great value. Just two more pins on each side of the pedal and a beveled edge around the frame and these would be a five-star for mountain biking.

Love these. Low profile, light weight and actually quite rugged. Only issue is the flat pins they come with are lame and offer too little grip. Every pair of these pedals I've had, I swap in their split pins which should really come standard from the factory. Knocking a star off because it's a pain in the butt to swap the pins out!

Rediculously thin and light. I have a low BB and have multiple pedal strikes and though I have had to replace a couple of pins, the pedal has held up perfectly. They look awesome as well!! These stick like glue and I have been wearing regular sneakers. I can't wait until I ride these with some freeriders!

These flats are lighter than many clipless pedals. Spin well. Decent grip. Large contact area. Good looks. Low profile.Might update later with a longevity report. So far, so good--even a few pedal strikes but no problems as of yet.

Very light for a flat pedal. I beat the crap out of them and the still spin well and no pins have fallen out. Pins are not sharp so you will want to pair these with a good riding shoe like the 5tens.

These pedals are amazing and when used with 510 mountain bike shoes my feet stick to them like glue! Not only is the price point great but they are also some of the lightest pedals on the market!!

Great pedals. The design insures that I always find the 'flat'. Grippy. Will turn your shins to burger. Have used for over a year. No play in bearing, looks like these will last for a while.
