I bought a used bike off craigslist. It is a relatively high end bike but I don't have clip in shoes yet so I was unable to use the pedals. I wanted some mad grip to keep my feet on the pedals while I was flying through the air off of drops and jumps. My old pedals weren't cutting it with the plastic crap cage. I read the reviews on these and bought them. They were easy to install and fit the bike perfect.Things I noticed:The mounting screw has an actual hex all the way around so it doesn't matter what angle you get a wrench in there, you will always be able to tighten/loosen it. My old Shimanos had only two small areas where you could get a wrench and they were so close to the cage you almost needed a shaved down wrench.Just about any wrench will work on these without hitting the cage. The cage is stout. I came down pedal first on a log and it tore the crap out of the log. Pedals were unscathed. With that being said, the grip from these pedals is pretty awesome. Not once did I have a hard time keeping my feet on the pedal. They are wide enough for my normal width foot and feel great under my shoe.Because the clip side is heavier they want to spin so the clip side is always down. This is nice when I am really trying to get my foot back on the pedal in a hurry.I performed the bearing adjustment on mine as well. To do this you need to take off the cage around the outside. Remove the black dust cover on the end. Use a socket to loosen the nut, then use something pointy (I used an awl) to turn the nut that is under the one you just loosened. I turned mine out roughly 3/4 turn and it loosened to the point where it would spin nicely. Then you tighten the top nut and put it all back together. If I was doing it again I would probably disassemble the bearing and remove the grease they use in there. It is very viscous and even with the bearing loose it will never allow it to spin as freely as it could. I would of course replace the grease with something of higher quality that allows the pedal to spin better. All in all for the price these are really hard to beat. I am extremely pleased with them and would recommend them to others.

I bought these for a my first road bike. They are ok. since it was my first road bike, I wanted to find a clip in pedal that was also a platform pedal. Here are the pros and cons.Pro:- come with correct clip- are good platform pedals.- all metal constructionCons:- They are very heavy- not the easiest to get out of when slowing down.- Have very tall platform on both sides, I had to trim the grip down with a dremel to make it work with my shoes.- do not spin very easily. I have heard that it is intentional so that they will stay upright while clipping in and out.

Great pedals for the money. AS many posters have said, the bearings are much too tight. Pretty simple to pull the caps and loosen up just a touch to get them perfect. The clips also do always orient down to when wearing clip in shoes you will have to flip the pedal every time you want to clip in, but I figured that would be the case before purchasing just from looking at the photo. I have done a couple of 75 mile rides along with a few short runs here and there probably about 20 miles each and they are holding up just fine.

For the price of these pedals you cannot beat them. I ride a GT Force 2.0 primarily clipped in. I have a set of clip only pedals from Crank Bros that are great, but these pedals for a quarter of the price drive a hard bargain. Plus having the option to not clip in for short periods is a huge plus. I've recommended these to two other using buddies who now ride with these too. Not to mention the pedals come with extra Shimano style shoe clips. I've ridden 50-60 times and haven't had a single

I love these pedals. I've had them for two and a half years and have not experience any problems. The spring tension was initially a bit stiff but I never had any difficulties clipping in and out of my pedals. The only challenge with these pedals is finding right side to clip into. Sometimes, the flat side will be up and you have to flip it over with your shoe. It only took me a few days to learn how to do this without looking at my feet. Overall, a great purchase. I highly recommend.

These pedals worked out great. They are perfect for the casual bike ride and the clipless side come in handy when needed for rain or mountain biking. It's not very hard to discern which side is which either. The clipless pedals are adjustable and very easy to get into and the non clipless side is grippy enough to rely on for when you don't need the clips. I would definitely buy these pedals again.

These are the first pair of clipless pedals I have ever used. Price was important because I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I might not like. I have no complaints about these. They are good for the price and I like that like you can adjust the pedals to release your shoe easier or more difficult depending on how you like to ride.

Got these for my wife's hybrid and they are an outstanding buy... cleats are included! had the cleats installed and the pedals swapped within 10 minutes and after a couple of adjustments on the cleat release tension... we were off and riding. I would get myself a pair... If I could ever find a reasonable pair of size 16 cycling shoes... lol

Pedals did not come with the 3mm wrench to adjust clips. More than likely you will need to adjust. I had to take off most all the tension to get my shoe clipped in. They have become easier with a few rides. Pedals came with cleats, which I did not expect. Don't think that was in the description. I did not need the cleats. So far so good.

Bought these for the "kid puller." Great to be able to quickly switch between standard & SPD pedals when I'm riding with the kids or running to the store. Not the lightest compared to Shimano or a different brand but you can't beat the price. Plus if I was really concerned about weight I'd just use an SPD pedal.

received these very quickly and they are exactly what I was looking for. Easy to jump on my bike to run to the store or wherever without having to put on my bike shoes, but if I want to go for a more serious ride I can put on my clipless shoes and in no time I am locked into my bike and ready to go.

I have been riding these for a few months now with no problems. I wish there were clips on both sides. The clip is low enough that it's not that noticeable with regular shoes on. So either side is good for flat use. But is sucks to try to clip in in a hurry to find out I got the wrong side.

great combo pedals. i didn't get to use them long though because apparently the threads in my cranks were damaged by the previous pedals adn bot of these fell out on the road before I completed my first ride, making the trek back to my car somewhat of a challenge...riding with no pedals.

Great pedals... I read somewhere that they would spin too much. I didn't have this problem. My first pair and i don't have one complaint about them. love the fact that I have the option to use the other side to pedal without clipping in, which is a must in NYC.

I recently was given a couple of road bike parts and needed pedals and this one was a great fit for future options. I don't have biking shoes but may get some in the future. These pedals allow me to have that option. Works great and good value for your money.
