Product arrived and 14 month son loved it. Rattled each box and is enjoying exploring them. The wood is really pleasant to touch and the edges are smooth. The wooden box it comes in is lovely although not exactly as pictured as the lower edge does not have a groove like the sides. It does not make much difference to play though, except that maybe it is a little bit harder to fit the lower tier with two boxes, as the objects can move more easily. My son piled the figure one on top of the other on the coffee table. One of the smaller squares fell off the coffee table and the wood came apart on Christmas morning. I ended with a wood L shape and a wood L shape with a the colored box attached to it.Closer inspection makes me think they just did not put enough glue on that particular corner. It is however easily fixable with some extra glue.It gave me a chance to see how the thing is constructed. The plastic square inside seem quite solid and thick, so not too concerned about it breaking. It is true that the darker colored boxes are not as transparent as on the picture, but I suspect that is because the plastic is now thicker and sturdier. They still reflect some lovely colors on to the table from the light in the window that totally mesmerizes my son. The wooden cylinders are unlikely to come apart because of how they are designed. I guess the wooden squares and rectangles are more likely to come apart especially if on impact they happen to fall on the corner. Have tried to pull the others apart but they seem solid. It is still a lovely toy. It would have been great if it had not come apart so quickly, but I am yet to see a toy that is break proof to the bashing of an active inquisitive toddler and at least this one is an easy one to fix.Would buy it again for a friend with kids, but maybe give it a couple of tugs on the corners before handing it to a child.

I bought this product after seeing my son playing with similar sensory blocks at his nursery. Reading the product description on Amazon I thought that they were exactly the same as those used in nursery, but once received I immediately noticed that there are some clear differences: primarily the size - these blocks are at least half the size. Customers are advised to check the product description before purchasing. Each block is no bigger than the palm of your hand. The weight of these blocks is a slight hindrance (believe it or not but these block are a little too light to stack properly - any bumps or deep pile in your carpet will cause these to fall over without hesitation).NB these are not the professional sensory blocks that you see in nurseries and play groups. The thickness of the block's wooden borders also differ from in the photos - be prepared for more wooden surround and less colourful see-through window. Also the packaging that they arrive in is more than twice the size of the product - completely needless and clearly deliberately designed to avoid the issue of how small this toy is when you think of the price. HOWEVER, even after all these disappointments, the over all quality of the item is very, very good. My son loves it and has hours of fun. Other reviews mention sharp corners and the poor quality lid - I can't say I've noticed these problems. I would buy this product again but never at full price. £15.00 would be an acceptable purchase price - nothing more.

I bought this having seen it in the baby room of the nursery. Yes, the box states 24+ months but I would wonder how engaged an older toddler would be with it, so bought it for my niece's first birthday. She loves exploring all the different noises that the blocks make, and the fact they all tidy into their own wooden frame is a bonus. As she grows older, there's going to be good potential for language acquisition around noise and rhythm as each of the shakers makes a unique sound, owing to the difference in size and number of balls within. It ranges from a very noisy single hard wooden ball which makes a short, sharp knocking sound, to a gentle shhhhh noise made by tiny beads when rolled. When not in use it sits happily on a sunny windowsill where it casts beautiful coloured light. There's potential for shape and colour recognition, too. As with all little ones, my niece seems to prefer any shaker being used by anyone else, so it's helping the introduction to the world of sharing. :) It seems nicely made- the wooden edges are smooth - and so far it's been subject to a lot of banging on various surfaces including a wooden floor. As with all things comprised of small parts, supervised play is the thing, but there's been no sign of any damage after 4 months. It makes an excellent alternative to plastic, electronic toys which seem to be so prevalent.

I bought this toy for my 5 month old baby. She is now 10 months old and it remains a firm favourite. The individual pieces are wonderfully crafted and very tactile. The blocks are designed to be lightweight and easy to pick up for small hands. Each has a different coloured glass and a different rattle. My daughter loves this toy and has experimented with the different noises and shapes and stacking. Sometimes it is difficult to prise the blocks from her hands. She cut her first tooth on her favourite cylindrical block but it shows no damage despite the rough ride she haas given it. The toy is only at the beginning of its useful life as she is not yet old enough to appreciate the colours andthe different combinations which result in a wider range of future activities and learning experiences. The wooden holder for the blocks offers even more possibilities for exploration and offers opportunities to improve spatial awareness skills by seeing the combinations in which the blocks can be put into it. I have no doubt this toy will last her many more years and stand the test of time as I enjoy this toy myself. I can only summarise by saying that this is probably the best toy I have bought for her. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I bought this for my seven month old daughter but the poor thing has hardly been able to get her hands on it as her two year old brother jumped on it with glee as soon as it arrived. He has had loads of fun with it peering though them at me and his dad, loading them on his trains and trucks, putting them back in their box afterwards. Both children have had fun with it. The daughter mainly chews to be honest! It is beautifully made and looks fab on the windowsill when not in demand. It seems extremly durable to me, this is a toy that could beplayed with by the next generation.Edited; two years on this toy is still going strong and still played with regularly both for building blocks and for imaginary play, used as pretend camera etc. Both children have had a lot of play with it. It is expensive though, so keep an eye for price drops. It has been as low as 12.99 (alas I missed that deal) but is often £17.99. Have just bought it as a present so it must be good!

We took delivery of this at 10am this morning and now at 6.20 we are having to take them off my one year old as it's time for her bath followed by bed. She has shaken, rolled, looked through, tapped together, stacked, knocked down. Etc etc and I can safely say she has had to fight off her 12 and 14 year old siblings they are beautifully made and the one star ratings are really unfair, as a qualified nanny myself this is the sort of toy I tend to buy and it was worth the money too.The box is great in itself as the blocks can go in, in any combination the only way this can be improved is by adding a catch or magnet to hold the lid closed and a carry handle as my daughter takes the whole box with her.The box today started at home, went in the car, went to a friends and then went to the supermarket and she hasn't stopped playing. I love the whole set it's a must for everyone with children.

This toy looks amazing - and that's just to a grown up. It is made of blonde wood with different little puzzles neatly slotted inside. Each little puzzle is a different colour and makes a different noise and has a different reflection. Baby can play with the whole or with different parts or even stack the pieces in a mutitude of different ways. They can be banged or rattled or rolled. The colours add extra interest. Our little one is very focused on this. At the moment everything eventually goes in his mouth but prior to this he gives it the 'two handed test', the 'bang on the table' test and the 'shake about with vigour for a bit' test. It seems to be very robust but perhaps we haven't had it long enough to say.It certainly is a nice looking toy. On the costly side - but like everything else in life - you get what you pay for. You can see the value and I would recommend.

What a lovely toy! Although it is recommended for 18 months and above, I bought it for my 10 month old son as a Christmas gift. He absolutely loves it, and we only use it together so he is never left with this toy without supervision. Each of the blocks has it's own colour perspex on two sides, and my son loves peering through it to see the world change colour. The objects inside the blocks make them lovely rattles and the wood is tactile and adds to the sensory experience. He likes taking them out of the wooden holder and then playing with the lid. Unexpectedly, my eldest son (aged 8 years old) who has Asperger's also adores these blocks and actually sits quietly whilst playing with them,so they have been extra good value. I hesitated in buying them at first, due to the price, but really they are fabulous quality and worth every penny.

I bought this for my son's first Birthday and I'm not sure whether the adults or children liked it better, as the blocks are extremely attractive and tactile. The blocks are beautifully made and the perfect size for little hands to hold and shake (and throw, so watch your heads!). At the moment he loves to watch me stack them up and he then knocks them down with much glee. I imagine that he will eventually learn to explore the colours and try to put them into the box the right way, so this toy should last a good, long time to come. He also appreciates shaking them to make them rattle and likes banging them together. This is one of the best toys he's had yet and I highly recommend buying them - they are definitely worth spending a bit of money on.

A firm favourite in this household. Very good quality wooden bricks - the colours are vivid and the rattle noises vary so there are lots of different discoveries and games to play - stacking - shaking - looking through . The box itself has a wonderfully easy hinged lid that my little one has repeatedly opened and closed and really fine tuned some motor skills with. These are well made and aesthetic- a rare combination, I would purchase these without hesitation to give as a gift. I don't buy many new toys and although these are slightly more expensive than I would usually spend I think they are well worth the money as a result of quality and popularity and the huge amount of play that hasresulted from owning them !

I bought these for my 8 month old girl to give her some multi-sensory blocks to play with. Now 1 yr old, these are a firm favourite that she goes back to again and again. She has other wooden blocks which she also loves but she is always excited to get these ones out of their box. She will inspect each one carefully, looking at the colours, shapes and most importantly, for her it seems, the sound made by each one. As she gets older, I expect these to continue to be a favourite as she learns to match the shapes, or sounds (pairs of each) and identify the colours. These are very well made. They have taken a bit of a bashing but you can't tell at all so far and the storage box they come in makesthem look lovely too!

My nephew (aged 10 months at the time) loved this when I bought it for him, and so did his parents! It is stylish as well as educational and fun. It's the kind of toy which looks great on display, especially a windowsill where the light would shine through. The blocks are sturdy, but small enough for little hands. They can be used as building blocks; the round ones can be rolled along the floor; the sounds they make are quite gentle; you can teach your child colours by holding two together to see how the colours change; and children love taking them all out of the holder and dropping them back in again, in any order.Great value for money, a lovely quality product, and one which would not be hidden away!

Our baby boy tried to put in rectangulars in soon as he seen it first time ! But he is not interested in looking through colourful plastic glass inside them , also not interested in sound which small balls make inside them, instead he is learning to get in and out cubes. The lid opening comfortable but the problem is it never stays in open position and 'banging back when baby's arms or fingers are inside the 'frame, limiting him access to get the 'bricks inside. Dont know if lids rubber holders are specifically designed to shut back lid all the time or this is just wrongly made... But baby likes to play with it anyway and even driving small cars over it ))

Seeing this toy on Amazon it instantly stood out as bright, solid and different. I wasn't dissapointed when I received it via speedy Amazon marketplace seller Toytopia - a great and friendly service. The blocks are really well made with rounded edges - ideal for nibbling on with your first teeth. My son was 10 months old when we bought these for him - younger than suggested here - but I think these are fine for babies of all ages who can wave their arms! Not only are these very well made, but tehy look stylish stored on the living room shelves! Hey presto - no need to tidy toys away any more! Highly recommended for sound, touch and colour learning.

These are great, I brought them when my son was one, he's now 4 an still plays with these from time to time. Each block makes a different sound to all the other ones. They are great quality, Eco friendly, very well made. The wood feels lovely in your hands.A nice range of colours. Interesting to look at/through.Can be used as musical instruments. The box doubles up as a puzzle - you can fit the shapes into it in several different combinations. You can build towers with them. Put two together to make different colours.Educational - but fun. They are still in great condition meaning my baby will be able to play with them once he's big enough.
