This wok is nothing short of a genius redesign of the chinese wok.Ignore the other reviews where people saying stuff get stuck on wok.Woks (in chinese cooking) are never "non-stick" in the first place, you will need oil/butter/ghee/lard etc.The true purpose of woks to get the elusive "Wok hei" or charring/Maillard effect.Stir frying with a wok is to reproduce that nice brownish (or blackish) burn crust thatyou see on a nice piece of steak. Traditionally this would require a heavy cast-iron wok (or grill)as you need the apparatus to maintain a high heat environment. In a typical household kitchen with weaker flames/electric hob, typical heat transfer from flame to wok will not maintain that high heat once ingredients are added (a typical 30-50 degree drop instantly). The temperature drop would take it out of the char-zone resulting in a not-so-crispy char taste (ie soggy burger patties). This wok doesn't allow that to happen due to it's design. It has a huge heavy base that conducts (heat) from the source and a extremely thin (but sturdy) wok surface. Heat transfer is fast and furious, unlike the "non-stick" products, a stainless steel wok can take any temperature your stove can throw at it. In chinese cooking, this means wok hei stir frys are possible. In western style cooking, you could char a steak using this wok with the insides rare. I've done extra crunchy burger patties using this wok (the thinner the patties the crispier it gets!).At the start of the review, i said this is a genius design because:1) It does what a wok supposed to do, char stuff at high heat and keep it insanely hot if needed.2) Thin stainless steel instead of cast iron makes the wok weight about 1/2 or less of a traditional wok3) Allow you to get the restaurant wok hei/char with a home heat source4) Cleaning with a metal scrub is far easily than trying to remove residue with sponge, just do your worst, wok will survive.5) Largest steamer on this side of the globe and frying drip attachment is useful.6) Probably the most beautiful cookware in your kitchen.Tip: unless you want to char your dish, best to keep your heat 1 or 2 notches below what your used to, the heat transfer is so good, you will probably burn your dish on the normal setting that you use with other pots.

This is not a non stick wok. If you think it is as easy to use as normal non stick wok, you will 100percent burn your wok and spoilt your mood. This is such a good wok and are for experienced cooker only.Instruction on using this wok. You need to seasoned it first!!!!First heat up the wok till when you drop a water you can see the water boil and roll around.Second you need should put in some oil in the wok, use a kitchen towel soak it in the oil in the wok, use a stainless steel turner to hold it and wipe around the inner wok. Wipe for 3 minute while the wok is hot. When the wok is hot, the particle between stainless steel is open, thus when you seasoned it,you will stuck the oil between the stainless steel pore thus making it non stick. Then with the high temperature this wok it can be easily achieve, you vege will be so tender, your food will cook so fast and so delicious. You cannot leave the food very long like normal non stick wok although u seasoned it because it will still stick. One of the tips for it to not stick although u seasoned it is first make the wok very hot, then quickly put in your food, keep turning for a while and take it out. This wok is fast and efficient

I recently purchased this wok set and must say that I am extremely happy with it. Firstly, the design is beautiful. Each part fits together perfectly and it all feels very high quality. The lid is particularly heavy. And most importantly it functions perfectly. One reviewer mentioned that the sides do not get hot - this is correct and is the way it is supposed to work. But watch out - this thing is enormous! I had to rearrange my cupboard to let it fit in. I have previously bought WMF products and they are consistently well designed and of high quality. They are expensive, but worth every penny as they last for years. It is my plan to slowly replace every single item of kitchenware I own with its WMF equivalent!

Usual WMF quality. Does transmit a lot of heat from an induction hob, so yes, it might burn stuff if you are not careful. Teflon and other non stick coatings get too hot in a wok and will brown, peel or release nastiness, pay some attention, stir constantly, and it won't stick or burn. We have not used any of the steamer or rack but I can see that it will be useful, is again well made and makes it actually very good value for money. Cheaper than many John Lewis, tefal or le cruset woks and it is WMF - the Mercedes of pots and pans.

This is a bit expensive, but probably worth the price as it is likely to last forever. Used already a few times to stir fry and steam with great results and couldn't find a fault with it.The stainless steel body looks very solid and does give me the impression that it is built to last. We already have the pressure cooker from WMF and it's the same thing: you spend a bit more but you get a lot more, simple as that.

In my excitement I accidentally bought 2 of these. Contacted seller who straight away cancelled one order. Using standard delivery the wok arrived after only 4-5 days. It's beautiful, great size for dinner parties / steaming whole fish or crustaceans. Very happy indeed with this purchase.

Had been looking around for something to steam crab and lobster in and was having trouble finding anything that was big enough in this country. This was brilliant have managed to get 3 large crabs in it at one go so well worth the money and know it can be used for other things too.

As my wife is Asian, a lot of our Asian food is steamed instead of boiled as common in Norway. We had problem finding anything suitable for steaming, but the WMF Macau Stainless Steel Wok with Steamer and Lid did fit our need perfectly. We are very satisfied with our purchase.

I got this wok last year and I love it!Since then I have used it at least twice a week.An excellent addition to my kitchen and though it's expensive, it's well worth the money. It is well constructed, hardwearing and will last me a life time.

I had seen this item being demonstrated in a Kitchen sales shop. I was having my kitchen redesigned and wanted a wok that I could use on an Induction Hob. The versatility and capacity of this wok was just what I was looking for.

This is an amazing wok. Heats get quicker than my previous one with better heat distribution. I have an induction job and do a lot of cooking with my wok. This one is perfect.

Fabulous wok, amazing delivery. But like all reviews say, this wok needs attention. It is not non stick and not cast iron. Stainless steel is special.

Very nice, but also very big for a normal stow. I will likely buy a smaller version for everyday use and save this for family reunion type of events.

This wok is magnificent. It's large enough for a family with the option of using as a steamer as well. My Chinese daughter-in-law is very impressed.
