We love cooking our own food from natural ingredients from the start, and a good frying pan is a necessity in doing so. I have heard so much alarming news about the health risks of using these different coated frying pans that I decided to throw all of them away and buy two good steel frying pans, a big one and a smaller one.We couldn't find any in our home town so I ordered this frying pan from Amazon uk, knowing it was German and of good quality. It came very fast, in less than a week, and I made my first chicken sauce in it on the very first day. Excellent pan, very stable because of the thick bottom, easy to use, heats up very evenly and cooks delicious food! Afterwards, you just wash it with hot water, washing up liquid and a brush, and that's it! I really love this frying pan and its little brother, too!

This is a great pan, that's plenty big enough for family-sized pasta and other voluminous dishes. Yes, it's expensive, but I'm hoping mine will last a lifetime, as it's such a pleasure to use every time. Let's see, once or twice a week for 25 years is nearly 2000 uses, so that's less than 5p a time. Only 1% of the £5+ worth of ingredients you might put in it each time. The only reservation you should have is that, because it's stainless steel, it's almost impossible to keep it looking "like new". Mine has already picked up some scratches and "blueing" of the base. But if you treat it as a working tool of the kitchen, not a prissy piece of ephemera, you can convince yourself that a patina of ownership is part of its charm.I plan to buy more of these (in different sizes)...

I like this frying pan a lot, but it took me some time to learn how to use it. Do not expect it to behave as a teflon pan. Some food will stick anyway especially one that has water on it. I can easily fry eggs on it without ruining them and I regularly make thin crepes that slide of the pan without problem. Make sure you pre heat it before use. Do not cook on the very high heat. I have an electric hob with dials from 1 to 12 and i usually cook on 6 7 or 8. Also it works better if you preseason it a bit. When you finished cooking wash it then put some oil on it then preheat till it smoke and then put it aside to cool. Do not scrape it with steel wool!If it becomes dirty and does not shine anymore use some vinegar and it will be as new.

I purchased this frying pan on the recommendation of a few reviews on forums and on here. The choice of pans is enormous and choosing was pretty difficult but I am not disappointed.I was fed up with non stick - especially as I couldn't seem to stop people using metal implements on them and when I was looking for a new pan started looking at alternatives. The pan cooks brilliantly and cleans well with everything I have tried so far. Just stick to the instructions and remember that this seasons like a wok so is not meant to stay 100% as new - it will discolour but this is how it works.Looking forward to many years of use.

I needed a stockpot that would work on an induction hob, and bought this one because a smaller similar pan was exceptionally good and well worth the cost. The miraculous thing is that the handles stay cool even when the contents are boiling - when using cheaper pans I often burn my fingers because I forget that they do not have the same kind of handles. This range is ideal for people who have difficulty lifting hot pans. The frying pan in the same range is superb: the handle stays cold enough to hold and, though not coated (and therefore not subject to damage)it is easy to use and to clean.

Bought this 2 1/2 years ago and have used it a lot and wouldn't be without it. It is well built and lasts (still looks like new). The best thing about this stock pot is how it cooks the food evenly without stiring and doesn't boil over even when quite full or burn at the bottom. Not much steam escapes either so the kitchen stays dry and the soup doesn't become too thick. This all leads to fantastic soups and easy washing up at the end. Well worth the price!

Some years ago my wife and I decided to get rid of all the TEFLON-coated health-hazards in our kitchen and replaced all our cookware with solid metal ones. WMF was a good choice. This is a 11-inch (28cm) frying pan that has a thick base (it does feel quite heavy) and a long handle that will not convey the pan's body heat. Not only it is far more stick-resistant than expected but it is also very easy to clean.RECOMMENDED.

Lovely pan-excellent build quality.Finished in a satin steel this pan oozes style and it is also very functional.Have cooked everything from a full English to a Chilli-all turning out great. Also Trans-Therm base seems to add a bit of protection to food on higher heats-reducing the chance of food burning.

This frying pan is excellent in all aspects but one.It is robust,it's handle stays cool.I use wire wool to clean it without a care.Superb German engineering.I am 82 years old and have tried just about every type of frying pan there has been. This one is by far the best with one fault. It should be larger.

Just what you need with the winter fast approaching a king sized stock pot.More than enough room to simmer a chicken carcass or two. This is one heavyduty pot which retains its heat for hours. You can make enough soup to keepyour freezer well stocked and still have enough to share with friends.

I brought this to replace a non stick pan of the same size, there is no comparison. The pan is made of good solid stainless steel and is surprisingly light given this. It heats up quickly whilst the handle remains cool, is easy to wash up the dirt just falls off, so no more non stick for me!

I got sick and tired of the "non stick" pans which only last a few months before stuff starts to stick. This excellent once in a lifetime buy frying pan is way better.Heavy guage, high quality stainless steel pan. Easy to clean and tough enough foranyone.Highly recommended

Stay cool handles really well built, stainless steel. German construction & yes they do appear to be very good at engineering quality. When will a British firm step up to the challenge (Yawn). Get what you pay for what more is there to say.

Like other utensils in this range (and in contrast to some other manufacturers' products) the handles always stay cool enough to hold without a glove or towel.A beautifully engineered pan that is a pleasure to use and pleasing to the eye.

I am so pleased with WMF Gourmet pans. They are a joy to cook with and the tiny steam vent in the lid avoids things boiling over. As long as you keep the handle pointing to the outside of the cooking area, they do stay cool.
