We got this toy and "JW Pet Company Invincible Chains LD Double Dog Toy" on the same day!! She was very intrigued by both of these toys but this is the one that held (read my review on the other toy for more details). When she was allowed to play alone with each toy I'd examine them after a little while to see if there were any tears happening. This one shows no signs of that and I wasn't surprised because we have another toy from this company that is the same material and that one after many, many months of playing with has shown signs of one tear starting to happen. That toy is a long bone shaped toy and I'll hold on to the ends while she pulls on the middle and that is where the very small rip has started!Anyway, this one is super flexible and she will run around with this and we'll grab an end and pull and she'll tug and it will slip out of her mouth and she'll grab onto it some more! She loves to try and toss it around and carries it all over the living room and loves to lie on the floor chewing on it when she's playing solo. She also loves to carry it to daddy when he comes home and is sitting watching the news and she'll bang it into his leg to get his attention. I'm very pleased with how well this toy is holding up considering how often she has played with it and how long she'll sit and chew on it yet we have no signs of wear on it!!

I bought this (now named "orange thingie") for my pup as an alternative to tennis balls, for which she gets territorial over at doggie parks. I had purchased a few things from this latest shipment and wasn't sure what was what. But my pup did. I started opening the envelope and ms. lap dog (at 46 pounds) came over and gently stuffed her entire head into the envelope to investigate. She pulled this out with her tail wagging and played with it - by herself - for the next several hours. She chewed on it. carried it around, threw it up in the air for herself and got us to play a bit of tug of war with it. The tug of war was SO EASY as the orange thingie took a lot of the force that our pup usually transfers over to us.Next morning, this was the first thing she went to. She seems to really like prancing about the house with this in her mouth as orange thingie is really bouncy and rubbery. Must feel like a new, really odd sensation because the weight distribution and floppiness of it feels quite interesting even when just holding or throwing it. After seeing what she has put it through in just the day, orange thingie seems indestructible. Next stop is to see whether it works at the lake (it is supposed to float!). She's a tough chewer and loves her toys to death but I think this one might be sticking around for a while.

My 2 year old male Belgian Malinois LOVES this toy (WPD Bumi Large)! Takes some getting used to tugging with him with this as it's so flexible, and with his saliva coating the toy, it gets slippery. Had a few mishaps as the toy slips out of his mouth and he tries to re-bite it, the toy springs back to resting shape and he accidentally gets my hand a bit. But eventually both of us got the hang of it, and we'll tug as a short reward after he brings the toy back. Once he tires a bit from running after it, he'll plop down and chew on it. After seeing he wasn't destroying it, we let him chew on it longer.(As background,he is versed in tugging as a reward with great outing and also in bite work.)Really loving this brand!January 2018:2 months from a full year and still looks great. He seems to sorta understand which toys he can destroy (example, old T-shirts we tie in knots shoved in a Jolly ball) and which ones he is only supposed to gnaw at (WPD Tux and Dash, Kongs, this Bumi). Some toys (Kong Wubba, rope tugs, any tug actually since they're reward interactions with us) we always put away or else he'll tear it up, but we've been able to leave this one out for him to chew on as he pleases.Easy to clean - hand wash or dishwasher.

Ever have a dog who wants to play but you just don't feel like getting out of your chair? This is the toy for you. hold one end and give pooch the other and just play tug. FOR HOURS! Your dog will never get bored and all you have to do is hold one end and do whatever else you wanna do like relax and watch TV. It is totally indestructible, it bounces when thrown to delight your pooch, and floats on water so you can play in the pool, lake or whatever. Bought an additional one for another friend who reports the same product love from his family and their 2 labs. JUST ALWAYS REMEMBER THE CARDINAL RULE OF TUG TIME! Never ever let your dog take the toy from you and leave the game considering himself the winner. The play time should ALWAYS end with you as the one ending play time and holding on to the toy, even if you want to give it back to him a few minutes later to play with independently. but any time you allow a dog to win a tug of war game you are setting their mind to think they have achieved dominance and you are planting a very bad seed in their head that they are in charge. Look that up anywhere you like to confirm as fact and consider it food for thought. but final word - what a fantastic toy!

First, the good. This toy does everything it says it does. It is tough, no question. It flexes and twists and then just pops back to its normal shape. It floats well, and its large enough for a dog to see fairly easily in the water. It is a little tough to throw it really far because its kind of floppy but that's not really a big deal. The only reason I can't give this five stars is because I really bought it as a tug of war toy for my dog, for which it would be awesome if my dog could keep a grip on it. Since the material is so tough, she literally can't puncture her teeth into it which is good because it means the toy isn't going to break, but it also means her teeth can't grab it like they would a rope. And then it gets wet because its in her mouth and that just makes it slippery. So we can play tug of war gently but if I put a fair amount of force into pulling, it slips away from her. I'd still recommend this toy though because its turned out to be a good fetch toy as well. Just don't expect a fair fight in tug of war.Added; my dog is 70-80 pounds but she plays pretty hard, so if you have a dog that is lighter or just doesn't pull hard, this would be perfect.

I have only had this toy for about a week, so I can't attest to long-term durability. I can say that I am happy with the quality and design. Pros - The toy is pretty thick, so it looks like it's going to hold up should it be used as a chew toy. The design seems to reduce the wear and tear from being tugged on and stretched out. It kind of bounces back when one side is released, which I think helps a lot. The cons - it's heavy and thick. My dog likes to play with this toy, but it can be difficult for her to get a grasp on it and keep it in her mouth because of the weight and thickness. On the up-side, she's not able to latch on to it and nearly pull my shoulder out of its socket when she tugs, like she does with her other tug toys. I actually have a chance at winning! I have a 6 yr old, 75 pound pit bull - need I say more about her strength vs. my strength? I'm not sure about playing fetch with it because my girl won't fetch anything but a cookie; no way, no how. I also like the fact that you can get one free replacement from the manufacturer; just keep the packaging and receipt. Overall, I believe that this is a good toy for large breed dogs.

This thing is great, it's a good tug toy for our two shepherds as it stretches and coils back so there's a bit of dynamic play that they don't get from regular rope/tug toys, its easy to clean and toss and its held up to some serious chewingAll in all very happy with this product and highly recommend to any active dog owners! One word of caution since it is so springy I've totally had it bop me back in the face when my dogs didn't have a good grip and it catapulted back at me when they released--so if you like to do human-dog tug of war, do it very carefully heheUPDATE OCT 2015This literally is my shepherds' favorite toy, they grabs it every night when I come home for us to play tug and fetch withIt's been outside 100% of the time and it takes a serious beating without showing any break down of the actual toy which is nice to not have to worry about shards of silicone or plastic being ingestedIt also cleans up super easy with just some soap and waterI'm only getting a second one because sometimes our male doesn't want to give it up so I figure I have two I will always have one to throw/him retrieve!

Our 10 month old lab/border collie mix is a toy destroyer. After he swallowed some dangerous strings on a rope toy, we were on the lookout for a toy that would be fun for him but also much safer than other dog toys. We decided on West Paw dog toys after reading the reviews and because of the replacement guarantee. We bought our pup one of the West Paw bones and he loved it so much we decided to get him a couple more West Paw toys, including the Bumi. The Bumi is now his favorite toy. He loves this thing and played with it for a solid hour the other day - tossing it around, grabbing it, shaking it and chewing it.I think he loves it so much because it's springy and stretchy and bounces around in unexpected ways. The material it's made out of isn't super hard (it's slightly flexible) and yet there isn't a single tooth mark after 2 months of serious chewing. It's also great for playing tug (although it's kind of slippery in your hand compared to traditional tug toys). We'll be purchasing more West Paw toys when these wear out. They way they are holding up though, I think that will be a long time from now.

Best indestructible toy I've found for my Baby. She honestly would chew through a toy minutes after giving them to her...one time $15 dollars in toys were trashed one by one within 15 minutes of getting them home....we were going to give up on buying her toys because of the danger of her chewing through everything we thought could hold up to her scissor teeth and then my vet. (who just happened to sell these in his waiting room) suggested these.... We call it tug and when we say go get tug she gets so excited.... Tug of war of course is her favorite game and after a good tug she will take it and sit on her bed and chew on it. Not even a tooth mark is made in it.The toy is indestructible and we all couldn't be more pleased with the quality of these toys. Her other favorite is one that has a place to put a treat and then these leg like things hanging out....she ones this one as well and she likes to toss it by its legs so we can go fetch.....get this toy if you have a chewer and destroyer...you won't be disappointed and feel you will not be wasting your money!

Bought one of these for my dog recently who definitely is a power chewer. He hasn't left a scratch on it, much less been able to chew through it. (He can chew through most toys in a matter of minutes.) It has a unique shape and enough give that it stretches quite well. He played with none of his other toys for two days after I gave him this toy! He approves and so do I - very good for those dogs who like to chew and tear up toys quickly.FYI - my dog is a mixed breed that includes some Pit with his very powerful jaws. This is one of only two toys I've found that he hasn't been able to tear up.---Edited after he did finally manage to damage the toy. If you're looking for a play toy, this is a very good choice. Not ideal for chewing or dogs who have really strong jaws for tugging. Check out the other toys from West Paw on their website to determine what's good for play vs. chewing. I'm still highly impressed and our dog absolutely LOVED this toy. I'll probably buy him another one at some point in the near future.

Ignore the reviews with the low ratings. Complaining that the Bumi is not a good chew toy? Of course it isn't... BECAUSE IT'S NOT A CHEW TOY. It's a tug toy primarily, but you can also play fetch with it. It's designed for you to actually interact with you dog, rather than just letting him gnaw on something in the corner. So, my dog is totally bonkers for tug toys, and we had been using one of those rope toys until we got the Bumi. The rope toys would fray pretty easily, and would start to smell funny after absorbing enough dog drool. The Bumi is a big improvement on both fronts -- it's built to last, and it's easy to rinse off after play. The only downside is that the largest Bumi isn't all that large. This means there isn't must distance between my hand and my dog's snapping jaws of doom... if she gets a little too enthusiastic during play time, ouch! It's still a great buy though, well worth the money. The Bumi is made in the United States -- Montana, specifically -- and can be recycled. Neat!

This West Paw Large Bumi Dog Toy ("Z") is the toughest & safest chew and tug toy we have found for the money. My year old English Springer Spaniel is an aggressive chewer and has laid waste to many a rope and stuffed toy. My biggest worry with the durable nylon chew toys were that they are so hard we were afraid she would crack a tooth. This West Paw chew toy is tough but flexible making her chew sessions safe for her teeth. We call it her "Z" and she retrieves it from her toy box by that name! Our pup loves this toy and plays fetch by the hour and then lays down and chews and chews on it. After several months of daily use it does not show any sign of damage. Seriously, not even a tooth mark! This chew toy and the West Paw "Tizzi" were "God Sent" for safety and durability! Daisy Mae loves them both in the "Granny Smith Green"! Though we have not had to exercise the manufacturer's warranty backing, notably they come with replacement guarantees. Finally...fully recyclable and "Made in the USA"

Disclaimer: I have not received any compensation for this review. It is based solely on my personal experience.I have owned this item 3 times. Not once did it break. I simply lost it, or my dog or kids lost it.I have an English Bulldog, and this is the one and only toy that he has enjoyed from the day he first got his slobbery little jowls on it until today. There is no guarantee that this toy will be as big a hit with your dog as it has been with mine, simply based on the fact that, like humans, each dog is different. Based on overall reviews, the odds are good, but nothing is certain. However, I can assure you that if your dog likes this toy, he or she will LOVE IT.I would rank this as the all time best dog toy.I would say this toy would be best for dogs over 35 pounds. If a smaller version is available, then I would say get that one for dogs under 35 pounds. My bulldog is 55 pounds and it’s perfect for him. This thing is indestructible!- josh (OlSluggy on IG)

I like the fact this item is made in the U.S. of A of safe materials, is dishwasher safe, is a fairly good size for Sophie (a larger German Shepherd), has a replacement policy through the manufacturer... however dogs are as different as humans, and Sophie isn't wild about this toy. She'll give it a bit of attention once in a while, but it mainly stays untouched in her carefully guarded "MY toy stash, so don't touch!" pile beside her bed.I can't predict if her feelings toward the toy will change in the future, but I don't regret getting it for her (is there ANY better look on a dog's face than when they realize a present is for them!?!), and I do plan to get at least one more toy from this manufacturer (a different shape).Bottom line: great product, but not every dog's favourite toy.And I'd rather the toy was a bit bigger. This seems to be the largest size available. And not green :p I'm aware dogs are colour blind. I'm not.

This toy is Amaaazziiiiinnnnng!!!!! I purchased this toy 3 years ago and we still have it to this day!! It's the only toy my 95 lb pit bull could not destroy!!! I don't know what's in it but this was my dogs first toy in a long time(because he would destroy every one in a matter of minutes) but he knew it was for him as soon as I opened the package, he took it and ran. It's been 3 years, we now have 4 dogs and this toy is still kicking! But my 45lb pit did find away to chew the ends off, because she's the destroyer of all things toy. But other than her getting the ends off they still play with it until this day. My miniature pinscher, who thinks she's a pit bull loves it,she literally abuses herself with it when she shakes her head. She runs around tossing it, growling, and shaking it like a mad dog. I wish I could post videos here! And it must have a particular smell because when we hide it from her she always finds it!
