This Wera advent calendar with a difference is as expected a bit on the large side. It came very well packed, a box in a box in another box! It is well presented, the artwork is great and there are holes placed in the calendar for hanging and also a pop-out stand which I've used to stand the calendar on the floor. It looks great. It could also be stood on a desk but would take up a lot of space. The doors are easy to find and open, though extracting the smaller bits from the the plastic inner requires some effort. This is the first time I've had an advent calendar that doesn't involve chocolate.. so my suggestion is to have something else to go with it!The Wera tools are excellent. The bottle opener and corkscrew (though I haven't reached the corkscrew yet!) are a great seasonal touch and it doesn't matter that there is no room for them in the foldable stiff pouch behind the first door. In addition to the screw bits and socket tools there is a T handle and traditional screwdriver handle which accept the tools with a magnetic attachment. This is a superb set and great fun to build up day-to-day. Recommended as an early Christmas gift in 2020. I'm sure Wera will be doing another as this is the calendar's 10th anniversary.

My husband's first words when he took this out of its outer packaging was 'wow!' This is a really big impressive looking advent calendar, with solid cardboard doors and a nice design. The first door to be opened on 1st December has a tool wallet and then each door after that reveals a piece of toolkit, which all fit securely into the wallet. The end result is a really tidy piece of kit, the sockets lock into place in the wallet making it super secure, it's excellent quality (this is no gimmick like most advent calendars, this is proper stuff). It comes with an extra piece of velcro that can be stuck to the wall/cupboard wherever you want to store the toolkit for future use.The T-handle includedin the set is especially good as the screw heads can be locked into place securely; my husband has a cheaper version where the screws often fall out if turned upside down. He's also realised that the other screw heads he has from other brands are compatible with the T-handle making the kit really versatile. It also has an excellent quality bottle opener and corkscrew. The corkscrew is in box 24 in case of an emergency!Overall this is a fab set and my husband was delighted to receive it, absolutely recommend!

Given we have Advent calendar sets aimed at children (e.g. chocs or sweets), women (make up, candles!!) and even booze and cheese, it’s nice there is something for men (although well suited for the women who like DIY as well.) Not only that, it can be used after Christmas.First thing to note is this is quite huge, but is also sturdy, and the cardboard opens without tearing excessively and holds the item in place quite well until you remove it. The first entry contains a wallet which you store all the items in, and all the remaining sections are the bits to fill the case, which are screwdriver bits including Torx and Hexagonal types, all of very good quality, as you would expect from anything made in Germany. It all culminates in a small corkscrew and bottle opener (nicely timed for Christmas). The case is compact and easy to carry around, and holds the various pieces very well. There is also a velcro strip provided which enables you to hang the case where you would like. Overall, this is a fun but useful addition to the advent calendar repertoire, and given the quality of the pieces, not a waste of money.5/5

What an absolutely fantastic idea! There's a lot of people who are not a fan of chocolate advent calendars, so why not get yourself or someone an advent calendar that actually has some use, albeit a lot more expensive. It's a fun alternative for those who may require a new screwdriver set and they're getting fairly decent quality too. The first slot is of course the carry pouch, which to be honest isn't ruining the surprise as the shape is obvious and makes sense as you need somewhere to store them as you open each day.The calendar is VERY big I must add, so do be aware of that. If you do want to hang it on the wall, there a two holes (one on each side)to allow you if you wish to do just that.I assume these have been selling well the previous years, otherwise they wouldn't be doing this 10th anniversary edition, nevertheless I can see why and think it truly is a nice idea. Would highly recommend.

It's Day 21 and I can't not review this early as it is epic. Really well constructed tools that are so useful for little jobs around the house, plus there is a bottle opener and a corkscrew too. They are all held together (without bottle opener and corkscrew) in a helpful and well made pouch with safely stores all of the components in such a way that they secured and don't get mixed up. Would they do for big jobs? Probably not, but for putting together small flat packs, or tightening things up they would be fine. The advent calendar is a good size and has a typical Christmas scene of Father Christmas setting off to deliver toys and gifts... but no reindeer as he is riding a motorised sleigh. This is not an advent calendar for kids but would appeal to any adult who does a bit of DIY.

There is no getting around the cost, this is an expensive way to get a few small tools and some festive fun. That said Wera tools are excellent and these tools appear to be of the same high standard you would expect from Wera. The actual calendar box is very big and takes up a lot of desk space and comes in a cardboard sleeve that shows all the tools in the calendar so if you don't want to spoil the daily surprises this needs to be removed before gifting the calendar. There is a neat holder for all the tool bits and handles but the included corkscrew and bottle opener do not fit in this holder but why would you want to keep them with the tools anyway. This is a great alternative from the usual advent calendars available, and a great option if you can get past the price.

Tricky one to review here because if I wait until all of the doors are open then it’s a bit late. So, I’ll give it a shot as it is.Firstly, the truth is that this is an expensive way to get a few small tools. But it is a bit of festive fun and better than a few low grade choccies. The actual calendar box is big. Very big so it will take up a fair bit of desk space sat on it’s integral stand. The quality of tools will inevitably be high given the brand and if you are a tool nut the fact that you get a wine cork remover and beer bottle opener is almost reason to buy this alone. A proper man-tool for booze? What’s not to like. So, a fun, festive thing that at the very least will leave you with some genuinely useful things at the end of the month.

This is an advent calendar that will be useful long after the last door has been opened. The box is quite large and around A3 in size and the advent calendar is protected from accidental opening by another box, the outer has a spoiler list of all of the contents, so make sure you remove that or the surprise will be gone for the person doing the opening.Spoilers:The contents of the calendar are a basic screw driving toolset, including the case. Although the box is huge, the kit folds up neatly into a purse size. All of the components are good quality and made to last. The only thing it is missing is a picture showing where each of the bits should be placed in the holder; it seems obvious, but a clue might have been helpful.

This is an advent calender for the engineer in your life.It has, after you open it up, a Wera screwdriver set that's worth about the same as what you'd pay for the tools. It's an odd gift, somehow very German... I am reminded of the man who bought his wife an ironing board for Christmas. It's far more a gift for the plumber/mechanic in your life than a partner who'd possibly think hints were being given about a shelf you hadn't put up.It also includes a bottle opener and corkscrew of incredibly high quality and impeccable design to add a bit of levity to the gift...

This is a really great idea for an alternative advent calendar. It is a very good quality cardboard box with built in stand, and behind each window is a part of a very good quality tool kit. Each part is held firmly in place until you open the box, and the first thing you open is the case for the bits. The tools are all really good quality and will cover some of the most common sizes although you might want to substitute a few bits for a specialised application. Mine is under the seat of my motorbike.Overall a really great idea and I highly recommend this!

My 60 yr old, tame electrician is really enjoying the morning ritual of opening his advent calendar. The first day is the wallet to store all the goodies in, and he is patiently waiting until it's full before taking out on the job. He loves Wera tools and reckons them to be the best for safety - the quality of the insulation on the VDE screwdrivers is ace. I'm happy to buy him Wera tools if it means he's less likely to get yet another belt of 220v because the insulation on his screwdriver was cracked or broken, as I quite like my electrician :-)

What do you give the person in your life who has every tool available? More tools! Only in a gorgeous, handy set as a surprise each day; so they can legitimately marvel at the quality of each piece as they appreciate your daily gift. If you're considering one of these - you already know they'll love it.

What's not to like about this. Wera make quality tools and in an advent calendar. Cheaper than buying the set of the screwdrivers I was after to replace the old ones. Being a big kid who loves Christmas I would have been daft not to buy and TCD delivery was excellent

Have not opened it yet but know people who have these before and they recommended it to me.The Calendar arrived well packed and on time.Have had wera tools before good quality stuff so should be ok.Cant wait to open

Partner loved this as a Christmas gift. Got the usual chocolate advent calendar, but this is just something a bit extra for someone who loves tools. Will be buying every year!
