The Weenect arrives in a clear plactic package containing the Weenect and a neoprene type case. There is no power supply to charge it with but it is a standard USB connecter so there are no problems finding a suitable charger.Set up was simple: Charge it, leave it by the window for 10 minutes to get a GPS lock and install the app on my phone. The next step is to create an account and register the device. This is where my only real issue crops up: The cost... It is £7.20 per month just for tracking and up to 10 minutes of voice contact per month. If (a limited number of) text messages are also required, then it is an extra £1.50 per month. There are cheaper options but only if paid for one or two years in advance.Compared with the sort of sim-only deals that you can get for £5 per month it is not good value. In use: I purchased the Weenect for my 80 year old mother so that she could contact me in an emergency as she finds mobile phones too confusing. There are no problems with use other than that the battery only lasts 2-3 days so she has to be reminded to plug it in.fortunately, I get alerts from the app to say tha the battery is getting low so I can call her and ask her to plug it in.The app (and the weenect web portal) are easy to use and show current location details on a map and can also show a full location history for up to several days.In summary: Quick and easy to set up and use.Drawbacks: Cost and battery life

I was looking for some kind of GPS system because when my dad pops out, he sometimes goes for a very long time and we have no idea where he is. Alas he's too old to learn how to use a mobile phone and would forget to charge it/use it, making it pointless, and being diabetic, this could be a dangerous situation. However, with the weenect silver, I've put my mum in charge of charging and after testing it out this week, EVERYONE is happy with it and finds it really easy to use.The GPS mapping system works nicely though not 100% accurate ie it was left in the living room and yet the map showed it moving from one close neighbours house to another ! It made us laugh, but in an emergency it would be sufficient in order to find him.I think the instructions need to be clearer and MORE OF THEM !!! I only found out that you could speak directly (ie a phone call) to the designated number ie my mobile phone when the big emergency button was pressed, when we tried it out. WHERE WAS THAT ON THE MANUAL ????? This such a major function and yet nothing is mentioned on the manual and only very vaguely inferred to on the website. They need to talk to their advertising team, and then some !! Really poor.As for the size, it's nice and small, fits in the pocket and has a loop so can be clipped to stuff, or put into the bag (part of the pack) which also has a loop for the karibiner clip, also contained in the pack. All in all, it's ideal

I bought this for my Mum ... just in case. She hasn't needed it to call me for help yet using the red button, but I have tested it and it does work. There is a minimal fee to cover 15 minutes per month talk time for when the button is pressed in an emergency and the website allows you to set who gets the calls and in what order. An additional small charge covers SMS to supplement email messages to alert when the button is pressed or the unit moves beyond a user-defined radius. (I have set it to alert me when Mum exits and returns to the village ... so it won't tell me if she just goes to the local shop). You could use it to track movements over several hours as well as locate the unit in real time via the Website should you neeed to or if you want to be really nosey/intrusive.The unit will send a message to the designated number when the battery is down to 30% as well. A well thought out item for a good price, particularly if you are worried about a wandering loved-one. (The difficult bit is getting your loved one to remember to always wear it).

Can't believe such a small device can do so many useful things. First few days I had technical issues but were dealt with quickly by the company. It e-mails you every time my mother had left her home area and entered it. It will send an SOS e-mail with a link to press to ring her back, all she has to do is press the SOS button for few seconds until it vibrates. I have added all my siblings on this too so they can be contacted through SMS and e-mails. Both methods also show her location on the map. Her location is not 100 percent accurate but I can get a rough idea of where she would be based on the map location. I love this product and would recommend to others for sure.I feel much better knowing that she has this in her bag and my mum feels happy too.

I think this is great device, and the cost is unbeatable. For my application, where I’m using it primarily as a call button, the requirement to hold down the SOS button for a few seconds before it triggers is slightly problematic for a frail, elderly person. I understand why it’s been set up that way, to avoid accidental alerts, but it would be great to have the option in the firmware to override that. The small side buttons are great, but too fiddly for an elderly person with poor sight, so the large SOS button is the one we use. Otherwise, a very good product which I’m sure will be good for most of the more mobile users for which it’s intended.

It is compact. It lets people know where I am. I like it. It comes with a pouch and once or twice while in the pouch it switched it self off, easily switched back on again. I think this is because it is on my belt under a pullover and indoors. It comes with a clip to attach a lanyard but the clip does not fit the device. Apart from the on/off button on the side there are two more buttons but no explanation of what they are for, I discovered this by accident. Pleased I bought it though.

I bought this to check up on my elderly father, who lives alone. He doesn't have dementia, it's just that we worry if he doesn't answer the phone, in case he has fallen. The app which is installed on family phones appears to be relatively accurate. We feel more happy about his safety, which is important for his inidependence. My one problem is that the app sometimes stops working on the phone and I have to log into it regularly.

Great piece of kit! Really easy to register and set up . Not needed to use in an emergency yet but we've done a couple of tests and it seems to work great. Glad we got this for piece of mind while living away from my father in law. Lots of useful notifications come through and they really have thought of everything! Very useful for a man who can't use a mobile phone but still wants his independence

Tracker is great. Tested it in the UK and works perfectly, the calls the messages the localization. However, it was bought form parent that live abroad and unfortunately the country doesn't appear in the list of country/networks but we thought we would check anyway just in case. It def does not work in the country but had it stayed in the UK it would have been perfect!

Bought this for our elderly father who has dentist. We’ve added the places we expect him to visit and an alert is received when ever he leaves his house and enters another property. Several of us have the app which works well. Few teething problems to start with but mostly due to us ‘learning’ How to use it. Attached to dad’s house keys as he had these in him all day.

I bought this tracker after my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He likes to go out walking having the tracker means I can see where he is in real time. There is also an SOS button he can press if he gets into difficulty I can also speak to him through the tracker. There is an annual fee this works out at less than £1 a week not much to pay for peace of mind.

The Weenect tracker has been great peace of mind for allowing my dad to live independently with dementia.Only very occasionally the gps is a bit off and has him in the wrong location but the majority of the time it’s spot on.It only seems to have a blip when he’s at home in the zone created for home. A refresh normally sorts it

Excellent for keeping track on my parent who has the onset of dementia. Easy to use and I’m using the software on pc, iPad and iPhone without any issues. I have attached the tracker to my mums house keys as they are always with her. As the tracker is switched on all the time I have to charge it every two days.

Overall I liked the product. It was easy to set up and use, I especially liked the geo fences option. However, the app needs to be expanded so that family members don’t need to use the same login. My stepfather is used to using a mobile phone so I don’t think this product offers much more than that.

Family member has dementia, I like that a boundary can be set up and you only get an alert if that boundary is exceeded. I also like that if family member is in difficulty they can request assistance by simply pushing the alarm button. Easy to set up and easy to use. Does exactly what I need it to
