This thing is heavy, obviously for this price it's not going to be lightweight carbon fibre. A heavy tripod of course has it's uses so if that is what you need this is a cheap option. It's not that smooth to pan either, a little on the tough side for me.A word of warning; be careful in transport to unscrew the two pan/tilt handles from the main tripod head. If you don't do this and the tripod in its bag gets knocked about a bit you might find that the screws that hold them to the head getting bent making tightening them difficult as well as the small teeth that grip the handles to the head getting somewhat shredded.
