This is where me and my seven year old daughter differ somewhat in our opinions of Myla. I can see that the VTech people have listed everything a 5 to 7 year old, girly girl would like - unicorns, hairstyles, makeup, pretty lights, singing, the colours pink and purple, and cuddly toys; then they have attempted to combine them into one substantial package. My daughter is their stereotypical audience and I would expect this to be on Christmas lists of similar little girls this year.Myla has now resided with us for 4 hours. She has a try me button, so you get to experience her sing, talk, move her head, blink and light up different colours by touching the gem on her necklace. As with most toys,the first challenge was getting her out of the large box. This required scissors and the patience to tackle several cable ties, plastic bands, sticky tape and twist locks. Once released, the number one aim was to get her off demo mode. We think we did this by turning her off and on again with the switch on her stomach, but the instructions were unclear. Although she comes with batteries, these require replacements fairly quickly. Myla's appetite is substantial, requiring 4 x AA (for the unicorn) and 2 x AAA (for the "make-up brush").With such a list of skills, you would expect hours of interactive entertainment...Myla is accessorised with a plastic light up "make-up brush", a butterfly shaped makeup set, comb, mane/tail clips and a "microphone". To change the colour of her mane, eyes, tail, wings or horn, you need to push the "brush" down onto a colour on the butterfly make-up set and the brush lights that colour. Point the brush at one of the sensors and the lights change to match that colour. The 3 strips of mane can be braided and clipped and her tail can be brushed. There is a sensor in her back, that when touched makes her speak and move her head. When the microphone is placed near her mouth she sings. My daughter had/has high hopes for this toy. She has changed the colours a few times and sung the songs. It is fur covered rigid plastic, so isn't cuddly, in fact the horn and wings are quite pointy. The legs move at the joints attached to the body so she can lay down, but one leg is permanently bent.After 4 hours, my daughter is a bit annoyed with the voice and keeps wanting to turn it off (she isn't the only one!) The only part that I feel she is really enjoying is braiding the mane. I suspect Myla will join our other toy box lodgers who arrived with us promising so much fun. My daughter disagrees.

Unicorns are mythical beasts with magical powers, but I didn't really realise this until I saw the 'VTech Myla The Magical Make-Up Unicorn', a toy/gadget hybrid that will make the unicorn fan in your life squeal. Like many VTech products 'Myla' has a lot going on. Just as a soft toy it is a beast. Standing about a foot, it is solidly built and stands on its own right; the various electronic internals means that it is perhaps not the softest of soft toys, but the fur is nice to stroke and the braidable mane is one of the funnest elements.'Myla' is more than just a toy to braid, it is also all singing. She talks to you and you can sing along with one of the peripherals that comes in the pack,she joins in if you get close enough. Another element is the magical palette and brush. With these you can tap the palette then Myla, parts her will then change colour! Finally, there are some little make over elements such as clips that you can use to adorn Myla and make her even more pretty.There is a lot going on with Myla and for an adult it can be a little intense, but to the right child there is a lot of fun to be had here. I found everything a little cloying, but some children like their Unicorn entertainment turned up to full twee.

Its big and its bright and its a unicorn so for most little girls what's not to love. This toy seems to aim to do everything. Its a fluffy toy, it sings and talks and plays music, it moves and lights up, you can do its makeup with the magic make up brush and it includes a karaoke microphone to sing along. I can't help feeling that Vtech has tried to pack too much into this toy.Before you worry about getting make up on the white fur the magic brush only changes the colour of its horn, eyes and wings.The microphone is quite clever as the unicorn detects when it is near its mouth and sings and then you can sing along when you move it away.Vtech say this is suitable for children aged 5-10 but Ithink you'd be pushing it with an eight year old and my nine year old granddaughter regards this as a small child's toy despite thinking unicorns are the best thing in the world.As with so many expensive electronic toys its charm will fade with time which perhaps why they have packed in so many features to try to justify the price and extend its life.

Lovely, girly unicorn with various functions that most little girl's will love. Myla comes with a plastic make-up brush, butterfly shaped makeup set, a comb, mane/tail clips and a microphone. You can change the colour of Myla's mane, eyes, tail, wings or horn by using the make-up brush and butterfly make-up set (lights up the chosen colour, not make-up as such)! Myla also speaks and sings. Her mane can be braided and you can brush her tail. The body of the toy is rigid plastic, covered with fur - it is not a soft, cuddly toy. The legs can be moved but one leg is permanently bent.For the price, this is quite an expensive toy and I think children may become bored with it quite quickly.

This is one of those toys which is slightly annoying for parents, but kids love it! It’s a singing, moving unicorn that comes with an interactive make up brush for eye shadow and a microphone for it to do kareoke. You can braid the hair, change the eye shadow colours with the brush, and the horn lights up different colours. It’s noisy, flashy, and fairly big but does have a definite wow factor when kids first see it. I’m not sure if the novelty will wear off after a while but it’s been fun, and very interactive. I would not allow kids to sleep with it in bed though as the wings are s bit sharp, better for day time playing

Myla has been so well received by my 8-year old who loves unicorns, make up and signing. It comes well packaged and is of a substancial size. Myla can sign, change colour, has a mane that my daughter loves braiding and overall has already provided hours of entertainment to her. Like other Vtech toys, the repetitive noise/ songs soon become a little much to bear, so best kept in the child's bedroom. Myla requires rather a lot of batteries too- 4 x AA and 2 xAAA. I can totally see Myla become one of the hit Christmas toys this year!

My 5 year old daughter loves it but thought it was broken at first as you have to be precise when positioning the makeup wand on the colour palette. I think she was also expecting it to walk but it doesn’t. Once she had worked out how to operate it I think she really took to it and likes showing people how it works. Good toy, but takes a bit of patience to work which many kids are not known for, hence 4 stars overall. I would recommend it though as expectations vary from one child to the next.

This is a Santa gift for my 3 1/2 year old- she's been begging for it for the last three months after seeing it on tv. It just arrived today. I tested it out before hiding it away just to make sure it was in working order. It is so much better than I expected, and that's just from pushing the button through the box window. I can't wait to see all the fun she will get out of this on Christmas morning and beyond. Thanks Littlewoods for a great price and fast shipping!

My daughter wanted this toy for her birthday she see it on TV and keep pointing at it as she dose not talk much. She was so happy when she open her gift and to see it was Myla the unicorn as unicorn are the big thing right now we was having a unicorn party as well. She love Myla she enjoys making her sing and change her colour of her hair, eyes and wings. I am very happy with this purchase it make my daughter very happy

this bright and colourful unicorn would catch any child's eye. I have brought this for my granddaughters birthday, I am confident she will love it.you can select any colour from her make-up palette and apply it to the unicorn's horn, eyes and wings then watch as they magically light up in your chosen colour! the unicorn has a magic microphone so you can sing along with her, it really is a lovely well made toy,.

Bought for my 4 year old daughter, who is unicorn mad! She thinks this is brilliant, she interacts with it like it is actually talking to her. The best thing about it is its make up related but without the mess, it has various activities, bright colours, music. All round brilliant toy. It's not flimsy, it's quite solid, it stands unaided which is good. I would 100% recommend this for any make up/unicorn fan!

Myla is absolutely beautiful and so cuddly, lovely bright colours and a joy to lllok at. II have checked thid and she does a lot of things and the make wand is beautiful mand Magical. I bought this for my Granddaughter and she is going to love Myla another one of your beautiful unicorns for her to add to her growing collection. Very well made and cuddly. Bought as a xmas gift for my 6 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. It’s a little bigger than I thought it would be which is a bonus!.. it’s very good quality, the different colours and lights makes it very cute and an ultimate girly present. Also the microphone/singing feature is also very good to give it another little element so they don’t get bored easily. Would recommend.

I got this for my 7 year old granddaughter and it's amazing! She would be happy with just a unicorn, but this one sings, you can braid her mane,she changes colour,you can do her makeup; Wow! If you pat her back you discover your daily lucky colour,and there are lots of accessories to make her look more beautiful. You can sing along with her; she really is every little girl's dream pet.
