I received this as a gift and, with the turn of the weather back to rain in the past few days, it has come in very handy.It is an amazing umbrella.The size of the canopy is enough to cover one person comfortably, or 2 people at a push.The pinky-purple initially looks overwhelming but when it is open the intermittent black panels soften the pink shock and it is, in fact, quite beautiful. Kudos to the designer for putting those 2 colours together and realising that they worked so perfectly.I then looked at the led handle and, finally, read the little leaflet that comes in the bottom of the box.You require 3 AAA which need to go into the handle of the umbrella.This was quite difficult for me as my ability to grip with my right hand has been diminished badly since I have had a massive infection in my forearm. I was scratched by a paramedic who was supposed to be helping us and instead she and her colleague robbed us - I'd hate to think what the dirty so-and-so had under her nails but it has caused a lot of damage to the skin and muscle.When I managed to get it open and put the batteries in (which I would imagine is normally very easy) I started to cycle through the available colours there are 6 of them and the option of it cycling through the colours itself, but you don't have to have the lights on.There is also a torch in the base of the handle which will come in very handy on those late nights out when you are walking to your door or along an uneven pavement - it can also help you find your key and/or the key hole.The fact that the handle lights up means that this umbrella gives you an added safety aspect - especially for those dark wet nights when you have to walk along a busy road with limited street lighting. This will ensure that you can be seen by oncoming traffic.I am extremely impressed with this umbrella - and so is my mum who likes it that much that she has now claimed it for herself! (and no I begrudge her the umbrella).If you are looking for a good sized umbrella which is attractive without being garish and has a number of safety features then you should really consider this.One last thing ViewQuest is a British company so in buying this you will be supporting a company in the UK and not Korea, China, etc.This is a quality item which I expect to last for years.PS - if you are looking for some stylish and portable DAB radio/speakers ViewQuest do a most fantastic range of them.

I was sent this exquisitely designed and very well-made umbrella as a gift.That said, I'd have more than happily paid the current price had I known just how clever this is.Opening the brolly Is a smooth and very satisfying operation! You'll spot the double supports, the lower set being sprung and so the tension of the dual colour panels is just right.Don't expect a push button operation - it's just not needed.Inside the base of the handle is the battery holder. Simply unscrew and then insert 3AAA batteries.I found it a tad tricky at first to accurately screw the holder back - aligning the battery holder took a couple of attempts because I found I was cross-threading. Once done, though,I discovered that I was really impatient for a serious evening downpour so that I could properly check-out the LEDs!This is one of those rare objects that I didn't realise just how much I'd enjoy and look forward to using it until I actually began using it.But it's just a brolly!Well, yes, it will keep you dry - but it's not just what it does but the way it does it that helps it stand out from other brollies.Add to that, the fact that it feels like a quality well-made object in use and I'd suggest it becomes a very fair priced 'must-have'item.

The quality of the brolly is excellent, much better than the price indicates, I purchased an umbrella for my wife a while ago for three times this price and it's no better the view quest is it equal.What makes this special is you pop 3 AAA batteries into the handle and you then have the option to illuminate the shaft, which is great, really liked the way it glows, varies different colours.When you raise the brolly you get a real feel of the quality, it has a good level of stiffness.I have a

Absolutely love this. Not only is it a trendy umbrella, but it has a torch light in the handle. On dark nights you can see where you're walking. Particularly useful if you live in a place with no street lights.Not only that but the main stem becomes an led light. It gives you a choice of colours or multicolour on rotation. Again a brilliant safety feature for dark nights or unlit streets.Clever design in a practical object. The gift for someone who has everything??

Bought as a gift but had to try it out first to make sure the lights worked and now reluctant to part with it! Obviously can't tell how long batteries (not included) or how it stands up to the wind /rain, but reviewing it on the basis of straight out of the box, it's great fun and should look even better at night. The light at the bottom of the handle is very practical too as it's effectively a torch. May have to buy another one!

Received this free as a gift - very cute!! Perfect as a fun item in the garden or at a festival, as well as obviously being a very functional umbrella with the added benefit of lighting up in the dark - just love it thanks
