Just some background. I bought this monitor to replace my AOC G2460PF being as I've suspected for a long time now that there might be something wrong with it. Sometimes it caused problems when restarting the computer and the picture was not 100% smooth and felt off. But having never owned a 144Hz monitor before I had no point of reference and just didn't consider it could be faulty when it essentially worked. It displayed 144Hz, it showed a picture etc. How was I supposed to know that it really is not working well. In any case, I provide the background info to clarify that my review of the XG2402 is coloured by the previously frustrating 2 and a half years using what is (for one reason or another)a bad monitor pretending to work OK.To help you decide and know when you have a 144Hz monitor that is working as intended this is the criteria I now know are important:1) The experience should be butter smooth. In games, or just simple things like moving your cursor across the screen should be BUTTER SMOOTH.2) If you're having issues on start up/restarting where the PC freezes and you have to force shutdown, switch off all power, wait 15-30 seconds and the power on again, it could be your monitor is at fault and you need to RMA it or buy a new one.3) You should be able to switch off your monitor unplug it completely and plug it back in while your PC is running and it should come back on and show a picture every time you do this. If it doesn't, but rather you have to once again completely power down and start from scratch this could mean your monitor is broken.4) If you're having consistently bad hit reg in games even after you're tried everything under the sun to fix it and your internet connection has been tested/proven ok, this also could be your monitor quality/malfunctioning.To test the above try using another monitor (even 60Hz monitor will do) and if the problems go away (as they did for me) then you know you have a faulty monitor. The one gripe I have with the ViewSonic is that the monitor arrived in what should clearly/technically be sold as "refurbished" state (i.e. not priced as new). The original clear plastic seal on the box was cut by the original buyer and was then replaced upon return by ViewSonic themselves with a new white ViewSonic logo seal. Obviously it was opened before. However there were no signs of use/wear and the monitor works flawlessly at the moment so I can't be bothered to return it and insist I receive a factory sealed unit. After all at least I know this one was thoroughly checked over by ViewSonic before going out again. I didn't deduct a star for this because this is now becoming part and parcel of buying from the internet and it doesn't reflect at all on the quality of the product, which to me is the essence of the issue. Frankly I can't remember the last time I bought something substantial from Amazon that wasn't clearly opened before. As someone who has himself returned many items (as is my right) because I didn't like them at the time of opening, I can hardly hold that against the manufacturer. As far as I am concerned as long as it is fully functional showing no signs of use/wear and tear then it's new.ConclusionThe XG2402 is working as intended so far (received 3 days ago as of writing this). The colours are much better and the picture quality is clearer. In games it solved all my "hit reg" issues. I can't say what this monitor provides in terms of experience as compared to the sea of other 144Hz monitors out there using the same panel (or the newer 24.5 inch 144Hz panel), but what I can say is that in my experience so far it is vastly superior to the AOC G2460PF. If I had to guess I'd say this is due to the fact that there's a lot more to a monitor than just the panel. In fact, the XG 2402 is noticeably heavier than the G2560PF, making me think that maybe AOC cheap out on the components. Hence the lower price (and performance)....or maybe my particular G2460PF was simply faulty and I should've RMAed it a long time ago. But how do you RMA something that essentially works!Should you buy the ViewSonic XG4202 over all other 144Hz gaming monitors? Over the AOC's G2460PF, from me, it's a resounding yes! In fact, personally I will stay away from AOC products from now on. It seems they offer the lower prices for a reason....a bad reason. As far as the other manufacturers/models are concerned: I have no experience and can't comment with any certainty, but what I can say is that the reviews I read prior to the purchase of the XG2402 (apart from one review where they had a bad pre-production sample and it had issues with contrast) were all positive and in my opinion correct. There are other models from other manufacturer's with the same panel that are actually more expensive than the XG2402, but I can't imagine them being a value proposition in comparison. As far as the cheaper options, I paid £30 more than the cost of the AOC G2460PF (or the plethora of other similar monitors), so the XG2402 is more expensive. . But if you're looking for a 144Hz gaming monitor, unless £30 is the be all and end all for you, take my advice: buy the ViewSonic G2402 and save yourself the hassle.P.S. This is essentially a first impressions review and I will update it in case issues arise after prolonged use.

I had hoped to be the first to review the new XG2402 on here, and perhaps I've just managed it!This (was) the '2017 model', came out in winter 2017, 144Hz freesync monitor (XG2402), an upgraded version of the XG2401.I upgraded from an asus VE248H which is a 60Hz TN panel. Umm, lots of thoughts so far - in general, I find I'm still tweaking to get it how I like it visually (there are loads of settings), but I was pleased to see no pixel problems, so I'm gonna end up keeping it if it doesn't explode over xmas :DWhen I pay hundreds of pounds for something, I expect to have something either in perfect working order or quick-fixable. My RX480 is almost certainly never going to get 144Hz in games with the highest settings, but some compromises here and there (tessellation lowering for one), or simply aiming for anything in the freesync range (e.g. 60fps) is more than doable and it's buttery smooth, tear-free gaming til the cows come home now!I'm finding it harder to 'tweak and be done with it' than the asus, because the site I used last time to calibrate the colours was very obvious when I was at the ideal spot. For the viewsonic, I can see the different colour contrasts perfectly even with lots of adjusting! There is a bit of bleeding around the lower right and a minor difference in warmth when looking at a pure white image between the top and bottom of the screen, so it's by no means an IPS monitor. ATM this doesn't bother me especially, because I'd rather have lower latency and not spend double the price on a monitor right now lolCompared to the XG2401, this is supposed to have more gamma options? It does have a lot to choose from. It's hard to describe, it's made games look more 'gamey', but high definition pictures look so much better.Pushing the option buttons can be a faff, the interface could be a bit better. It has an option not to display the 'power on' light on the monitor, which is nice. The biggest plus by far is the 144Hz and AMD Freesync - it's so nice not to not have tearing anymore and I love how silky the mouse moves around lolI had my asus attached flush to a wall...now it does say repeatedly that the viewsonic is vesa compatible (100x100mm), exactly the same size, but the stand it comes with doesn't look like I can just use the same stuff. (It's a fantastic stand by the way, very meaty) so at the moment I'm looking for a viewsonic proprietary wall mount thing (it slots into the back in a circle you see). Debating whether or not to sacrifice the deskspace permanently lolI'm happy with it so far, the pros definitely outweigh the cons (and thank god I didn't have to send it back for bad pixels), but I find myself wondering what the samsung is like now. I find curved monitors a bit gimmicky though :PWhen these were first available a couple of weeks ago (literally hot off the shelf with a manufacturing date labelled as '1st Nov 2017'), amazon had them at £275 and later £250 which they're at now at time of writing. I'm a little disappointed to pay £25 for the same thing, but I'm just so glad not to have any pixel problems and have to worry about sending it back (fingers crossed).I also looked at the Alienware 240Hz for its deliciously thin bezels but heard it was lacking in the settings department which viewsonic certainly isn't.

I spent a lot of time researching 144hz monitors before finally deciding on this one. The most important features for me were the frame rate and price so your preferences may vary. This monitor has been nothing but excellent so far. There is no back light bleed, no stuttering, no tears, no dead pixels. The only thing that needs to be adjusted is the color settings. Through searching online I was able to find settings which fix all the color issues the monitor has in the beginning. The settings are:Gaming Settings= CUSTOM 1Rampage Response= FastBlack Stabilization= 11 (higher reduces contrast, too much lower noticeably eats away at dark detail)Brightness= 38 (according to preferences andlighting)Contrast= 70Color Saturation= 50Gamma= 2.6AMD FreeSync= OnColor Temperature= Full Color ControlR= 100G= 90B= 92Refresh rate (Windows setting)= 144HzAfter using the settings from the review, the color is almost perfect. I have another monitor which is a 60hz IPS screen which has almost identical picture quality to the adjusted XG2402. Would highly recommend if you're looking mainly for high frame rate at a great price. Other features such as 1440p resolution, big screen, or curved shape did not matter for me so I can confidently say that this is the perfect monitor for me.

After years of faithful service my old 50Hz LG monitor gave up the ghost and it was time to start hunting for a new one. After hours of research I decided on this. It has some great reviews from various sights and was the right size considering my rather limited space. It was a breeze to set up (except for the cable management loop around the back which required considerable force to snap into place, I was convinced that I was going to break it). You can adjust the screen in both directions and in height which is handy. After switching it on it became obvious that the settings needed recalibrating but a quick search on Google set me up pretty quick.A lack of remote control combined with awkward bezels under the screen made his a little more irritating than necessary but wasn't a major issue in fact it most likely down to me being lazy more than anything. The red light at the back is relatively unobtrusive and after a while I didn't really notice it. Overall for the price this is well worth it, specs similar to a lot of the higher end models for a bit less, easy to use, sturdy stand that's easy to assemble and mount the monitor on and after adjusting the screen settings it became a great value piece of kit. Thoroughly recommend!!

I don't buy too many monitors, they tend to degrade too easily, so they are not the main component in my builds. I was just looking for a reasonable monitor that would deliver 1080p @ 144Hz with not too much fuss and this is it. I am mostly interested in overclocking the CPU and the GPU for my PC games and in studying software for different projects than in achieving higher resolutions. A 1440p monitor will probably be next, however... that'd be my sweet spot.So far, no dead pixel (we'll see if this lasts...). The image is great and after tweaking both the monitor's and the GPU's settings, I am very pleased with the output. This is not the high-end monitor that I decided to pass on for now,but as long as no dead pixel shows up, I see myself keeping this monitor for a long time and maybe even getting a second one. We'll see... I have a 1080p HP monitor that cost me about the same and a 4-inch streak of dead pixels showed up on a sudden after using the monitor for a bout 3.5 months. I can't speak to how long this will not happen to the ViewSonic... monitors are just a guess.

Its not "top of the line", but its a cheap price! It looks a bit less brightly lit sitting next to my 4k monitor. It is a TN panel ... Otherwise, its a great monitor for the price ... AND its 240 hz! Though you're going to need some serious video card power to come close to 240 fps on any modern games. No dead pixels and all the buttons work fine.Comes with a display-port cable (SHORT . like 3 ft. - you might wanna consider this as I needed to purchase a 6 ft. Cable separately to reach my pc)I got this on sale for $279.99 (about 300 after tax). Overall, I'm happy with this purchase.UPDATED:DO NOT update the drivers for this monitor. It will cause severe color distortion (is some applications such as Steam's store menus).6 hours of troubleshooting with Nvidias support team (i have gtx gpus) finally after giving up, I tried one last thing. Uninstalling the drivers for this monitor (uninstall the monitor in device manager and click delete drivers, then click detect hardware changes to make it pop back up in the list as a generic monitor, bam fixed)

Third time lucky? I bought this monitor for use with both my laptop and my Xbox One X. This was the third monitor I had ordered after returning the first two abortions from Acer and MSI. 1ms response time was important for me as I am using it for gaming so I struggled to find a monitor with a 1ms response time with good colour. 1ms monitors in the main are TN technology rather than IPS, TN Panels are known for not being as colour sharp as the IPS panels, let me tell you this monitor has great colour depth and quality, the Acer and the MSI monitors were dull and washy. I use a pair of high-end Dell ultrasharp IPS monitors at work and this is more than their match when it comes to contrast and colour depth. The 144hz is an added bonus for making everything look extra smooth and no screen tearing. The actual build quality of the monitor is great too, unlike the Acer and the MSI monitor that felt cheap and flimsy, this monitor feels premium and robust without being overly heavy or bulky! I will be sticking with Viewsonic for monitors from now on.

The first picture is of the first monitor I ever bought back before I even had a gaming pc, I used it for playing overwatch on ps4, and youtube on the ps4 as well, I got this nearly 2 years ago and the picture is still as bright and looks just as good as the day I got it, and it has seen a lot of use in that time, at least 4 hours a day, and sometimes up to 12 hours on a day off from work. I have been using it for watching videos and gaming on pc as well for over a year and a half or so and it works extremely well, and still looks great. I can not say it enough. Another thing is it is so sturdy, it will hold together for a long time and will now fall over unless you practically throw it off your desk.Only 240 for this is a steal, and I know that sounds crazy, but trust me it is, I spent 280 on an Omen gaming monitor, and I like that one as well, but the picture is not as bright, and it got a dead pixel pretty fast. Where I've had this one for 2 years and no issues at all. I like it so much I got a second one just a week ago.

I don't usually write reviews but have to stress the quality of this monitor for its price. I picked this up for around £320 through Amazon warehouse deals and was blown away by the quality for the price. The 2k looks amazing, 144Hz is smooth is very minimal tearing, running with freesync eliminates that anyway. The stand feels very premium considering the price and is weighted well. Overall very impressedPros- very cheap for the quality you're receiving- came with no dead pixels- nice stand with great adjustability- 2k and 144Hz as advertised- multiple connection options- can use out of box no problem even for less technically inclined- the monitor itself is stylish and nicely designedCons-minor bleeding on the edges but very minimal- built in speakers not the best but don't really use anyway- rotation feature is a little wasted considering the monitor is curvedOverall would definitely recommend especially for the cost

Had this monitor for 2 months now and can safely say it's a good bang for your buck. Setup out of the box is a matter of sliding some parts together taking no longer than 2 mins with no tools required whatsoever. The picture quality out of the box is a bit washed but I'm you tamper with the settings you can get a decent image quality (I recommend looking up some configs). It comes with a display port so you can utilise the 144hz and the freesync is also a nice touch for the price. The best thing about this monitor though is the stand and the overall build quality. This monitor is so solid. The stand is made from a metal base and the main support is super thick and sturdy. You can adjust the angle and position of the monitor very easily. There is an almost 180 degree pivot on the bottom you can adjust the tilt and overall it is just so easy to use. 10/10 would recommend

For a TN panel, this monitor has everything you'd expect. Low response times, fast refresh and subpar colors. If you are going for absolute speed and fluidity in game then look no further. For the price this monitor kicks butt on that side of things. As for the color and picture quality, this monitor obviously isn't going to even compare to other panel styles. With some tweaking the colors can be made acceptable but if you are doing any color intensive work (editing etc.) I would go for an IPS or VA panel monitor. The stand is sturdy and I've only had one stuck pixle pop up since I purchased and unless I'm looking I'd never see it even sitting leaned in close to the 27in 1080p screen so it doesn't really bother me but I'll adjust the review if anymore pixels decide to croak. All in all I don't regret purchasing this monitor what so ever, an amazing bang for the buck.

This monitor is amazing, it's bright, colorful, adjustable, sleek, and all the setting you can configure on this thing is amazing! my only two complaints about this are how the sounds does not adjust what-so-ever (which doesn't bother me cause I usually wear headphones). If I'm ever asked to turn this things down I'm forced to put my headphones in because even 1 on volume is pretty darn loud. Secondly, ever since I got this this there has also been this bright patch in the corner when the screen is dark. I figured this was due to poor handling during the shipping process or maybe I was a bit rough with excitement when I was unboxing it, but either way It's not a big deal since it has to practically be a black screen to see it.Other than those two complaints this is a absolutely wonderful monitor for a manageable price!

Even better than I expected. People often criticize it's color accuracy, but IMHO it looks wonderful after minimal adjustments. The feeling when you adjust height and inclination is one of a reliable and strong product. I only have some complaints about the cable management holder that is not as firm as I would expect, and the audio volume, that's lower than I expected. Everything else is perfect. Buttons are comfortable and give good feedback. On screen menu is excellent. The screen can be turned left or right for showing something to a partner without moving the base. It includes connections for HDMI, DisplayPort, an USB extension for 2 USB 3.0 devices, and an Audio Output for headphones. And games look and feel stunningly beautiful and fluid with it's image quality and the 144 hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time.

It's a 240hz monitor with low input lag. I do get some episodes of flickering on the screen but I don't know if that's my gpu's fault or not. If other reviews complain about flickering I would avoid this monitor.I really like the stand it came with. You can tilt this monitor in any direction you want, and it connects to the monitor via a standard vesa mount so you could reuse this stand for other screens if you wanted to. The little cable management clip it came with is very flimsy, but it gets the job done.My only complaint with this monitor is the viewing angles. Left and right angles are rather fine, but if this monitor is just a little bit above your eye level, it becomes unusable really fast.I guess the silver lining of that is that it forces me to sit up straight, which is a better posture anyways!

I did a lot of research and this monitor had a huge sale on black friday so I had to cop it.Out of the box it was easy to assemble, feels very high quality, and looks pretty good.I used the test settings from pcmonitors to calibrate the image and it looks pretty good (obv not ips level good, but I'm not concerned with looks that much). The menu to change the monitor settings is very intuitive, the 144hz is very nice, and the DP cable included was nice aswell.I will update the review if anything happens, but so far it's looking good. (Not to mention 3 year manufacturers warranty, so you don't need to worry about dead pixels)Update: Dec 9, 2019Spotted a green stuck pixel. but it's odd,if I wipe with a cloth, the stick pixel disappears, but it comes back after a varying amount of time.
