Ok, so you either love or hate these funny looking feet-things, but reserve judgement if you can until you've had a chance to try on a pair. If you feel kinda 'so what', then they probably don't suit your feet (they're not for everyone! Have a look on the VFF website for guidance)BUT if like me you get a 'wow!!' then they are well worth the replacement cost of a standard pair of runing/sports shoes. In a way these little things are even better than being barefoot, since if you are used to restrictive footwear, your feet tend to retain this shape out of habit and the VFFs encourage your toes to splay and straighten, allowing tendons and muscles you never knew about to get in on the action. Two words of warning though:ONE: Build up time in your VFFs very gradually, and don't necessarily expect these shoes will completely replace your regular sports shoes. I have been wearing mine about the house and for walking and (very) short bursts of running for about a month, and I'm just starting to feel ready to step it up a little, if you'll forgive the choice of phrase. I've been noticing a slight ache in the tops of my feet and through my toes in the mornings, especially following circuit training etc., and I feel crampy in my calves very quickly when running due to the changes in gait and the new absence of a heel strike. They did work well for bouldering/scrambling in an old slate quarry: even in very wet conditions they proved surprisingly grippy.TWO: They do tend to get a bit whiffy! But you can machine wash them as often as necessary, and I gather there are products you can apply to you feet to prevent bacteria making smells. Also there are toe socks, but I haven't tried these.Final point: they took a week or so to break in before I was convinced I was going to really fly in these, but it was worth the wait.If you decide to go for it, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I love mine!

I love my Vibrams. Been running for five or six years now, distances from 10k to a 52km ultra marathon in South Africa - so I like to think I at least know a little of what I'm talking about. My Vibrams were a little tight to begin with, but over time they've loosened up a bit and now they're just a perfect fit. They're a nightmare to put on and take off the first few times, but persevere - you'll get used to it. And the first run you have with them - wow. Seriously, they're awesome. You can feel the texture of whatever's underneath you, and also the cold or warmth transferring to your foot. As they're ridiculously light, you'll notice within just a few runs the difference in weight as soon as you put your old trainers back on.A couple of warning:1.It's easy to stub your toe on the ground if you're not careful, I've done it twice now. Nothing broken, just painful for a few minutes, though fortunately I could run through mine.2. Heel strike. If you heel strike then you'll struggle initially in these. I tend to mid-foot strike so I've been lucky, but if you heel strike you'll have to adapt your running style, although this should happen naturally. But if that's the case, don't go out for long runs straight away in them, let your feet adapt. There are lots of other articles on this issue that explain it better than I can, so just google Vibrams and heel strike.3. The cloth material at the top. Mine is looking a little tatty now. Not hugely, but there are a couple of tiny rips from where I've been running cross country and my foot has brushed against something on an overgrown trail. Not a big issue, but it's a bit of a shame. When I say a little tatty, though, I mean just that - don't get all paranoid they won't last, they most definitely will.4. Social. Be prepared for lots of stares and questions!

I first heard about Vibrams the same way I expect a lot of people have - through books & articles on barefoot running. I eventually picked up a pair when the winter evenings started to get dark. Aside from being somewhat cold underfoot, there was a safety aspect - at first I didn't worry about glass when running in the dark as I could see the sparkle of streetlights reflecting off it but one time there was a broken green bottle on my normal route which I didn't spot until I was virtually on top of it.A lot of people have mentioned sizing issues with Vibrams - so many so that Vibram have posted a video on their website with instructions on how best to measure your foot. However,I then had to figure out how these measurements converted to UK sizes, which was a bit of a headache. TBH I'm probably not the best case study for this since I have square feet (UK mens' size 9.5/10 in width, approx UK mens' size 8 in length) so normal shoes don't tend to fit me particularly well anyway. In the size 9.5 KSO's, the soles fit my wide fit perfectly, so may be a bit too big for normal sized feet. My toes only come about halfway up the toe compartments, as they do in normal shoes anyway, but it didn't hinder me while running. The KSO's are compact with a thin upper mesh & thin, hard sole - I was expecting it to be softer & more flexible than it is but there's still plenty of give in it. Despite the thinness of the materials, it feels like a quality product, designed to last.In terms of using them as someone who has been barefoot running for a few months, I immediately found that I struck the ground harder while wearing them. This is consistent with all the books on the subject (I'd particularly recommend

Having dislocated both my knees over the years, plus other injuries, I had been told running was not a good idea but I didn't want to admit defeat..! Having read "born to run" I thought a complete re-think of my running technique was a do-or-die solution; and it worked!! I completed my 1st triathlon 1 month after I started using the Vibrams with a personal best in the run!! The REALLY important thing to remember is that your feet are not used to having to work this hard so, no matter how fit you are, you have to begin with short distances - just 1 mile or so. Or you will risk stress fractures & your calves will really struggle. The correct technique is also vital; if you heel strike you will damage yourself so read into it & look on youtube etc...This is like learning a new sport!! A personal trainer friend was very sceptical but she is a complete convert now and wears them EVERYWHERE! I'm never looking back. Some people already have a great running style, even in trainers, but if you struggle or hurt when you run this could be the answer you're looking for - running is FUN again!!

My KSO's.. Wow where do i start? Item was ttacked and I was watching out for the postman comming, imagine my suprse when they turned up at 7:45am! Anyway fast forward opened package it had a magazine of items for sale from the seller. In the box my lovely gorilla feet!So impatient as always decided to try them straight on, at this point I had been awake all of 5 minutes and had not had my morning cup of coffee.. First attempt did not go too well they are really difficult to get on first time. After a few minutes (well more like 10) I managed to get them on, whike they are very tight they are so comfortable. The box has instructions on it how to put them on and some general advice.I have been outwalking in my vibrams but am yet to go running still accustoming myself to them. While walking in my kso i noticed my legs did not ache, not even in the slightest, looking forward to running in them!As a last note, the extra gift i got with them, my daughter who is four loved and claimed it so many many thanks to the seller for that.Would deffinately recommend!

These were bought to replace my old Vibram Sprints as they're falling apart. I figured I would get the KSO's this time around as it's winter and hopefully they'll be a little warmer. I haven't actually done any exercise in them yet but spent a few days walking around the house to break them in and this is what I've found-Much harder to put on than the Sprints but I suppose I will get used to it, also I had not realised that the straps were different. On the KSO's the strap that goes across the foot and the one that goes round the back are connected so it's not possible to decide how you want them to fit. Also,I find that my big toe fits perfectly but all the other toes barely go halfway and makes it look a bit funny this being more of an issue with the KSO's than the sprints. All in all, despite the few niggles they're great shoes. I no longer get foot pain when I exercise and they're just so comfortable. They've completely changed the way I walk and even my posture has improved.

I can't get enough of these shoes!they are rehabbing my feet and i am so grateful!!!!!They STINK after using though -- so i need to share with you how to clean them and keep them stink-free.After you wear them, you will eventually start to notice the stink (even if you don't normally have stinky feet).Don't freak out -- here's what to do:1) make a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide and tea tree oil (a couple drops).2) Smear the paste into the inside of the shoes -- making sure to get each toe spot too.3) Place the pasted up shoes in a very warm bin of water (I use my sink) that contains DENTURE CLEANER (that fizzy stuff).4) Leave them overnight.5)Then pop them into the washer (i wash them with other clothes because the stink is gone by now).6) Let them dry naturally. The sweet smell will last for about a month or so -- then repeat the process.

I brought a pair of Vibrams some years ago, which I wear about the house, so I knew what I was getting. I brought these to use for trail running. I've not done many miles in them (which is advised if you are going from wearing supported trainers to barefoot running) but it is making an interesting transition, I can feel the muscles in my feet responding and different muscle usage in the lower legs.If you are just starting out with VFFs (or other barefoot shoes) I suggest you follow the advice and build up time/distance slowly. It takes a while to get used to but is well worth persevering with.

I did alot of research into these shoes before I bought them, and so far they are great. feel quite unusual when you put them on, but when you get used to the feel its like you are barefoot.Need to be very patient with them - I wore them for 3 whole days in a row when I first got them, which left me with sore knees a few days later. So now wearing for an hour a day this week, two hours a day next week and so on. I eventually plan to run long distance in them but it will take a long time.I recommend reading up some of Lee Saxby's stuff about barefoot running which I found really helpful

These are so comfy, it gives all the benefit of being barefoot with the protection of a shoe. I wear them with and without toe-socks, either just out and about or whilst at the gym. They are expensive which did put me off buying them for a long time, but I really notice the differerence in freedom of movement between these and even high quality trainers. The one thing I can't use them for, despite the product blurb saying you can, is running - it just doesn't provide the structure and impact protection you need.

Run slightly bigger but that's OK because it left room for Injinji socks!Just finished running my first mile since June and also the first time in my Vibrams.I seriously ran my first mile in 10 min. flat and could've been faster but I started off slow. The burning sensation in my feet - gone. Knee pain-gone. Lower back pain-gone. I easily ran 6.5 mph and was even gaining speeds at 7.0 mph. Vibrams=amazing!VERY comfortable and happy with these. I even use them in lieu of my Olympic weightlifting shoes.

23.2.2013

First off let me explain, I am a male and my foot size in shoes is 9.5-10 which for some reason is a women size for Vibram. Doesnt make sense to me.Anyways I was let down at first because they were very tight and painful. But i sucked it up and now they fit pretty well but i could have gone up one more size. They are worth the money and I enjoy wearing them, and I do not run, I only work out in them. I even wear them when I work.all in all a great product but the whole sizing thing can be tricky

10.10.2013

I love Vibram's five-fingers shoes, but I wish the sizing were a little more consistent. This pair is a little snug and more difficult to put on than my other five-fingers. (I should note that I have been wearing five-fingers shoes nearly 100% of the time for four years now, so I have a lot of practice in wiggling my toes into the toe holes!) I am a little concerned that I won't be able to wear this pair with toe socks when cold weather hits, but we'll see.

1.7.2012

I really really really love these shoes. I hate wearing anything but flip flops, but these shoes have made me feel comfortable about having straps on top of my feet. I have problems with my feet swelling and these shoes help. I know they are made for the more active person, but I am disabled and these shoes give me the support knowing that my feet are grabbing the ground and I happy knowing i have another tool to use as i adjust to my situation.

17.5.2017

These are replacements for the previous pair which are starting to wear out in a couple of fabric to rubber joins after 3 years of heavy wear. Still have lige in them but I wanted to make sure I had replacements. Alas Vibram give men more options in colours but think women only want garish colours so discontinued these.Note that 39 is a fraction too small for me in other shoes, although that's mostly because I have wide feet.
