Mid November one of my cats was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure and given two months to live. He was very weak, struggled to walk, had little balance and needed to be carried up and down stairs. He had stopped purring but was still eating. I came across this supplement and started giving it to him twice a day together with a potassium supplement and a varied diet (anything to keep him eating). After about three weeks his balance improved, plus weight loss and muscle wasting seems to have stalled. My vet told me about ipakitine after diagnosing my elderly cat with kidney failure. She was in for an operation on a cyst and it came up on her blood tests. I was offered the option to give her renal food, however the vet said that ipakitine has been successful in slowing the kidney disease down. It is odourless and tasteless so Polo had it sprinkled on her wet food and she never faltered eating it. It was the perfect solution. She was taking it for about 11 months, until one day she started having seizures (NOTHING to do with the ipakitine). She was 18 and had a suspected brain tumour. Unfortunately she passed away in July 2018,

My old cat ? was prescribed ipakitine as his kidneys now need a bit of support.. Bought the first pot from the vets but it cost well over double the price! All the vet articles I’ve read about this product really rate it and allows your pet to carry on having their favourite food instead of one of the special vet prescribed diet foods which the majority of cats won’t even look at let alone eat. My cat eats mainly dry biscuits so I feed him on a material pad, sprinkle a small amount on the pad and rub the biscuits in it. It must be tasteless as you can’t usually fool my old boy. If your vet hasn’t suggested it make sure you ask about it.

I have a cat diagnosed with CKD. Basically she was pissing everywhere which was very distressing. The Vet recommended to use expensive CKD food which worked great but my cat hated it and lost a load of weight. I heard you out add this to normal food and it helps. So back to normal food with this additive and no more pissy puss. Please seek professional advise I am not a Vet but did do a lot or reading before I went down this route and at the end of the day it was a life quality decision for my 17 year old girl. The product was happily undetected by my fastidious and exacting, but chronically kidney disease- afflicted, cat. You only have to use very little, but when I first opened the tub, some of the precious powder got spilt, so it's a shame no one is apparently producing a paste, for the purpose, like the sadly discontinued 'Renalzin'. This French company delivered the product efficiently and speedily, so this was a relief. My one gripe, with all of these prescription-style products, is their expense. This was, however, a much better deal online, than the other sellers could offer.

We were given a 2 month prognosis when our Greyhound’s kidneys started to fail. Using this product gave her another 6 months and prevented her from having that bland ‘renal’ wet food that she never ate. Thanks to this product she ate steak and everything she loved to eat everyday. Sadly she was put to sleep yesterday evening. This product gave us quality time with her that was unexpected. Cannot praise any higher and would recommend to anyone who has a cat/dog with renal issues.

Ipakitine was prescribed by qualified Veterinarian for 15 year cat who was developing Renal issues.On a follow up 3 month review, Renal levels had returned to normal.Advised to continue giving prescribed dose of Ipakitine, as cat was thriving although advanced in age.We have found Ipakitine highly effective in improving a 15 year old cat quality of life.But would advise others enquire about its use from their Vets, before purchasing without proper investigations.

My cat was recently diagnosed with the beginnings of kidney disease. Vet recommended special food but my cat is grain intolerant. Found my cat can stay on her usual food and is putting on weight after losing it. Did have constipation to begin with so I add a bit of water to her food along with a small dose of fish oil once a week and now she's fine. Yes it's pricey but special renal food that's grain free for a senior cat is a lot more expensive!

Homeopathic vet recommended this after blood tests showed 13 yr old cat has kidney failure.She warned me that not all animals will tolerate this in their food.However, our cat never missed a beat (one level measure [provided in the tub] twice-a-day) and eats with enthusiasm.Haven't had another test done but she is still going strong after 18+ months and showing no signs of further deterioration.Recommend

for those people having problems with ipakitine powder... cat won't eat it. ?? mix it in with some gravy or tomato sauce from a tin of mackeral/sardines. cat will eat its food...i told mry tommy thats it .no eat food you strave. so after a lot of i don't want it ,he eats it .or starves lol... he loves his food mixed up with tomato sauce from the mackeral. (PLEASE DON'T USE ORDINARY KETCHUP)

Throughly recommend this for cats with kidney problems, You just add it to your cats normal cat food, no need for expensive Renal cat food, made massive difference to our 16 year male cat who unfortunately has chronic kidney disorder, won’t cure your cat but will prolong their life without the upheaval of diet / food change , really can’t recommend it enough

I buy this regularly as it's cheaper than what my Vet charges. My cat was diagnosed with early stage renal failure in January as she drinks and pees a lot. She's not entirely liking the special renal food you can buy for this condition and it's very expensive so this is a better alternative as she can have her normal food with Ipakitine added.

Simple and easy to use, we are unsure how old our cat is as he has been abused then found by an old lady who took him in and had to go into a care home when we then chose to have him but our vet recommended we use this to support if rental functions you put into food and my cat eats his food as normal to excellent.

My cat has renal failure without this she wouldn’t be able to digest her food - she is 21 very shortly and still enjoying her life though in a more sedate elderly way. Previously obtained via the vets though found this product ( exactly the same ) much cheaper on the internet - almost half the price

Have been using this product on my cat's food since he was diagnosed with kidney failure a year ago. It was recommended by our vet. The cat is still going strong at 16 years of age so perhaps the product has helped to digest the phosphates that are causing his problem. I don't know.
