If this is your introduction to the arcade stick/fightstick world then this stick is an amazing pick, it’s very cheap when compared with other common “first sticks” and for the quality of product you receive it is certainly worth the money, I personally bought Sanwa Deshi buttons, a Sanwa Deshi joystick and a Qanba octagonal gate for my joystick so I only used the stock buttons for about a day but ran into zero issues with it, I’ve had one since February at this point and I’m only just now considering moving onto a TE2+ by Madcatz as it is a pretty small stick so it may move from time to time on your lap but I’ve never really had any major issues with this, it’s great for all your fighting game needs, works absolutely fine with anything from Street Fighter to Tekken to BlazBlue to Dragonball FighterZ, Killer Instinct and Skullgirls, you name it and it’ll be an amazing asset to your game! Could not recommend enough, was my first stick and I would honestly love to see more models from Venom as this was an amazing product! As you can see in the first image I swapped the buttons/stick for blue Sanwa parts, although I love the Venom red, blue is my favourite colour so I swapped it out, the second photo shows the back, all you need to do to mod this fightsick is take the screws out that are visible on the plate on the back and it’s a very simple job of moving a few wires and putting new buttons in and unscrewing the joystick, another amazing feature of this product is the fact that it works on both Xbox One and PS4 (and PC) which is a blessing as most arcade sticks only work for one console and being an owner of both (due to me loving the Xbox for years but most exclusives for fighting games being PS4) it is great that I don’t have to get a converter just to be able to use the stick, I love this thing to pieces and anyone considering getting a first fightstick should undeniably choose this over any of the other ‘cheap beginner’ sticks, no faults whatsoever!!

This stick is quite affordable, half the price of your more professional sticks, this is the perfect stick in my opinion for new players to fighting games, and also probably a good one if you want some old school controls for classic arcade games.I went very far with this stick on Tekken 7, and could of gone even further, it has everything you need with great functionality. Now that I have a Hori arcade stick I can make some comparisons. This stick is quite light, and the buttons quite "clacky", it responds great, and the stick is also really easy to use. Overall, it is built quite loosely, over time, I realized that having a little more tension is better for me. The buttons are plain, they have no matte finish or anything like that to deal with sweat. It has very little quality of life features. To be clear; there is nothing really wrong with this stick and it works great, there are just a lot of things that could be BETTER than it is, and most of those you will be unable to notice unless you have experience and habits with fight sticks already. If you are on a budget, and not sure you want to get a stick, you should try this, but if you have double the money and you know for sure you are going to commit to it, just skip this and get some authentic like the Hori RAP. You won't use this forever, it is an entry stick for a decent price and I give it 4 stars for that. Eventually though, you will realize the subtle differences of what seperates this cheap stick from a premium, for instance hitting diagonals up or down can be pretty imprecise, and the looseness of the buttons can result in misinputs. Just some minor inconsistencies which over time you will not tolerate as a serious player

Wow, I am amazed at the quality of this item.I wanted to play some emulated arcade games with an arcade stick and was dubious about spending the money because I usually play games on old computers with the stick in my right hand. I thought perhaps I wouldn't be able to get used to it.It was actually really easy to use straight away, the feel of the buttons and the stick are excellent, the feedback is excellent, it has a really good feel of which direction you're pushing in with a decent but not overly intrusive click, the stick is quite light to move, but I quite like that. When you look at the switches along the top they look a bit daunting, but if you just read the instructions which only takes a minute you'll understand fully what they're used for. With a PC you can just plug it in and you're away, but with the PS4 and XBOX ONE, due to the way the regular controllers work, you have to plug the long wire into the console to power it and then another cable into the control pad, I think this is so the console knows which profile the stick is attached to when you have more than one player etc. But again, that's really easy to set up and once you've done it once you most likely won't forget.I've read that the buttons are generic arcade buttons and can be replaced with different ones and different colours, so it sounds like it may be serviceable too and easy to get into, but I won't be doing that as I imagine that would void the warranty and I'm quite happy with it as standard.Read full review...

Love it.I am completely new to fighting sticks and am struggling to be honest which I thought might be the case and hence why I'd didnt get an expensive one, plus you can upgrade all the buttons and joystick in the future if you want. I did initially try a used Mad catz sf4 TE but sent back due to condition, now I have the Venom I felt no difference in the buttons so I don't think you need to upgrade any parts unless you're a fighting game fanatic, but then you wouldn't want a cheaper stick in that case.Apart from my lack of skill, the stick itself is brilliant, the buttons are responsive as is the joystick, my only issue is the square gate as I'm finding it hard with Ryu on SF,I'll probably try to mod that.I purchased a used one via Venom and the thing looks like new, very happy. This does work with the Switch too but it needs a firmware update, all you need to do is contact Venom who send the update files to update the firmware, all done in 5 mins and works a treat (why don't venom put these on their website?), you can't use the Mayflash F300 files.I guess the only thing is the lack of palm rest, it is there but angled, but I didnt want a large unit taking up room so it's just a trade off, its certainly not uncomfortable. The unit is a good weight so very sturdy.Overall I'm very happy although I'm not sure it has made me any better at fighting games. The biggest plus is the cross platform use... this is a bargain.

If your looking for a reliable and sturdy arcade stick, the Venom is perfect for the entry price. I actually thought I would receive a cheap version of the £120+ competitors but the arcade stick is brilliant. The buttons are OEM Sanwa OBSF-30 which are completely interchangeable with many buttons found on eBay. Not that you need to change them as they are very sturdy already and have that genuine Japanese arcade feel. The base comes off very easily to leave full access to it's internals where all the colour coded weird can be easily removed to allow any new buttons to be changed. The reason for the cheap price is because you still have to connect a genuine console controller via the arcade sticks USB out on the rear, but I bought a long micro USB cable and taped it to the arcade stick cable so that my controller can sit on top of my console out of the way and leave me with just the arcade stick on my lap. If I get good enough with the sick I may upgrade at a later date to remove the need for the controller attachment, but I may never need to. One piece of advice, of you are coming off the controller, be prepared to learn to walk again, or at least have a 50% success with your Hadoken! It's a steep learning curve, but well worth the time, so I'm told :)Stop debating and buy this arcade stick.Read full review...

This is my first arcade stick I’ve brought and I love it. Stick and buttons feel great. I’ve tested with my Xbox one X and PS4 Pro with each controller connect to the arcade stick and no problems. I’ve got it working on a Nintendo Switch too but I had to try different ways until it worked as there are no instructions for the switch. To use with the Nintendo Switch you plug the usb directly into the usb port on the docking station and on the arcade stick you switch the button up to XINPUT. Switch on the Nintendo Switch and it works. I’ve tested this with Street Fighter and plays lovely. So glad I brought this ??

I highly recommend this product Venom Arcade Stick. I have a disabled brother who can't hold the classic Xbox controller while playing games because he cannot use his left hand. Previously, when he was playing the game, he had a classic controller on his desk and intricately controlled the games with only his right hand. With this product he can now comfortably control sports games such as NHL, NBA, FIFA, etc. Large buttons, large joystick, rubber bottom, which makes this product well-kept on the table = these are the benefits that my brother really appreciates. Thank you for this product!

I didnt buy this from Amazon, but from Tesco! It is of a really good build standard. It works well with Retropie on Raspberry Pi. IT has a heavy sheet steel base and large rubber pads, so it stays put on my worktop. Also, if you feel the need you can swap out the buttons, and joystick too, if you wish for Sanwa items, Although the quality of the components are of a very high quality.

For a starter using a arcade stick I like this stick in gameplay works nicely and feel no input delay what so ever but this is my only concern about this stick. The stick allows you to use all consoles! For Xbox one user like me sad news this stick won’t allow you to talk in party chat :( I don’t know if just me but if there any solutions to make it work that would be awesome.

First time buying a fight stick so was expecting something a little less sturdy than what I got. It's decently sized and quite frankly is very well built, doesnt move about when you're using it on your desk and feels like it will last a good while. Looks easy enough to take apart and swap components out in the future. All in all this is a great first stick.

my first fight stick i got, plays tekken 7 really well, the only complaint i have is i wish i had got one with more width on the sides, its very awkward to sit on your lap because of how small it is, if you prefer a smaller stick i'd 100% recommend it as a beginner stick, but i'd also say it might be better to get one with a larger case to it.

Unfortunately the product that arrived was covered in returns stickers. The 'left' direction did not work. With some troubleshooting with Venom by email and phone. Stick is great. Works across variety of devices, xboxone, PS4, (Windows/Linux) PC, 360, PS3. Buttons/stick can be swapped out easily, sanwa / hayabusa fit easily

This is my first ever fight stick and I can confirm that I'm very happy with this product. Very easy to set up and use, a must buy for anyone wanting to get into arcade style fighting games. Also considering the times we're currently in the delivery on this item was super fast got it 3 days after ordering it ?

4.7.2017

Decent build quality, with lots of functionality included, such as the input toggle switch so it can be used with PCs and consoles easily. The case looks easy enough to open up and swap out parts as well, if you were ever looking to upgrade.

Great for beginners looking to replicate that arcade feel.Nice bit of kit, definitely getting your moneys worth here.Currently testing it out with mortal kombat xl and tekken 7 and I'm having loads of fun.I'd definitely recommend it.
