Leaving a review now that I'm finished with the entire jar. First off, I noticed very minimal fatigue the next day which helped me to want to continue to work out (major bonus points there). Second, the flavor was very citrus tasting with only water, so I started mixing with Light Vanilla Almond Milk (in a blender but I'm sure a shaker would be fine) and it was doable. Then I started adding a pinch of vanilla protein powder and it's perfect now. Probably not great for everyone but it works great for me. I use it every time I work out, approx 10 mins afterwards. Continue if you want to know my workout progess, hopefully it will help you if you're a beginner. So this wasn't the first time starting a routine but by far is the best I've ever accomplished. I changed my diet up to lean meats, lots of veggies, and occasionally brown rice (when I strength train). I started off doing mostly cardio and squats so I could lose weight before gaining muscle. Therefore I'd be able to see the difference on the scale, which drove me to want to continue ... Which I have :) lost 11 pds so far throughout 1 jar duration. I could have lost more but I'll admit the beginning in changing a diet is a bit difficult so I had many cheat days. However I'd say that's a darn good accomplish thus far. I'm purchasing another jar now. I do plan on switching to another company to test out each avenue in which I'll leave an update but after this second jar. Until then, good luck to you all. You can do this, you just have to have faith in yourself. Also don't push yourself too far in the beginning, makes you not want to continue. And if you don't have the motivation to do so... Start by putting those workout out clothes on and driving to the gym or setting equipment up. Then just start a small workout, it'll make you feel better and give you the drive to continue. Basically focus on one foot in front of the other and don't focus on the toughest part no one wants to face.. The struggle, sweat, etc. Trust me I've been there.

This magic powder works well after a long work out. In my case, it is a ritual that I must take it immediately after long runs or cycling rides (3+ hrs) as it helps my system recover. What do I mean by "recover"? After long sessions, my shoulder are a bit stiff, my legs are achy from the effort, and I am just generally tired and tensed up. After drinking Vega, I am simply more relaxed and my muscle stiffness and edginess gradually goes away - just like magic!Prior to Vega, I thought I just needed food so I would just start eating the first thing I could find as if I had just fasted for days. However, this was not helping me as I was just getting my stomach full but not feeling better. Now I realized that my system needs the right balance of protein and carbs to help me recover - and only after recovered that I am able to actually digest other food. So, this recovery drink actually buys me time (30-40 min) to drive home and clean up before I have to eat a proper meal. One of the biggest reason why I use Vega is because my system does not handle whey protein very well. At this time, Vega is the only recovery drink I could find without whey protein. No, I am not vegetarian if you were wondering. There are many recovery drinks out there, but Vega is the only one that works for me. This is highly personal, but I find the flavor to be very good and refreshing. Friends who tried my recovery drink actually liked the taste too, and indicated that it is not as chalky or very sweet like the recovery drinks that they take.As other reviewers indicated, mixing the powder with cold water (or w/ ice) is a little tricky. What I like to do is mix the Vega powder with room temp. water in a glass bottle (make sure it is 1/3 empty) and put the bottle in the freezer. The next morning, it is a solid block of ice and it slowly melts to a nice cold drink by the time I need it 4-5 hrs later. I use only one scoop after my long sessions, but do what works for you.

I don't like to admit that I can't live without anything... but I can't live without this.I'm an avid yogi and rock climber. I boulder 2 to 3 times a week and balance out my activities using flow yoga but like most people, I hurt after climbing... I ache and worse still, it takes me a couple of days to recover, which means more downtime than I would like. I discovered the benefits of Vega's Muscle Recovery Accelerator after reading the reviews on Amazon and thought to myself "Sure, why not?" And so began my romance. I took the all natural concoction, Apple Berry, within 30 minutes of finishing off a 3 hour climbing session. Now, I had 30 minute drive home from the gym,a drive which I dreaded after climbing (those of you in the know, know that pumped forearms, coupled with tired and tight fingers don't make for comfortable steering action) but, within 10 minutes of taking Vega, my arms and fingers suddenly felt... normal, nay, really quite amazing and relaxed - not enough to render my driving skills "sloppy" but my arms felt rested. All the lactic acid had been "neutralized" and my drive had home improved vastly, plus I noticed that I wasn't suffering from inflammation and that I was no longer tired. My body was, indeed, recovering!! I continued to take Vega's SRA and had zero complaints about it, but, somewhere along the way, I decided that I needed a break and wanted to go solo, sans Vega... just to see... y'know what I mean? Well, that was a mistake, because I'm sat here writing this review with achy muscles from a climbing session that I did some 3 days ago. I admit it, I made a mistake and now I want you back, Vega!! I'm a fool without you and a fool for leaving you, plus when I'm with you, I don't get sick. Yea, no flu season for me, thank you very much.So in a nutshell: buy this product. You will be happy and able to pursue your active life without having too much downtime and that, my friends, is the truth.

I found this product accidentally while looking for a new protein drink. I work out hard and very regularly, and I had heard things about "recovery" products over the years but had never tried them. Once I started using this product it made such a difference that I started telling other people about it all the time. Well eventually I got so used to the results that I started to take them for granted and began to skip my Vega Recovery Accelerator and for a while even quit taking it. It took me a while to realize that was why all my old aches and pains were back, I didn't think about it I guess and just started taking way too much ibuprofen again. I finally snapped and got back on the recovery accelerator.THIS STUFF WORKS.I did try another product, After Max, for a while to see if it worked just as well. I had never tried recovery products before Vega so it made since to try another. The results were definitely not as good as Vega. Also the other product took 3 huge scoops vs the one little scoop for Vega, which made it much harder to mix.Note: I see a lot of reviewers saying they mix this product with their smoothies or with extra protein. I was also doing so when I first started using it, and it does still work when mixed like this. But Vega actually recommends against it because the product "features a 4:1 ratio of carbohydrates to protein, a combination shown to increase muscle glycogen re-synthesis, a crucial component of post-workout recovery." Mixing the recovery accelerator with a smoothie or protein drink alters this ratio so Vega recommends drinking the accelerator immediately after workout, and then following with your protein drink or smoothie "within 60 minutes after workout."

I just posted a question for the product because my recovery has improved a lot after I started taking one scoop [post-workout] of this powder and I am curious what ingredient is the "main culprit". I went to the Vega website and checked the ingredients and to my amazement, nothing in the list is too secret, proprietary or too fancy. Basically common ingredientsI'm 47 yo and I have been cycling for years at a pretty decent level. I took on running (5 years hiatus) again, at once per week easy run ~11 min/mile (3-4 miles) and the first 3 weeks I was extremely sore the next 2 days, to the point that it was affecting my cycling performance [note: I run with minimalist shoes, new balance minimus, which might cause even more soreness because of the nature of the shoes]. Because of this, I considered dropping the running but then decided to buy a tub of vega recovery and give it a try. I was very surprised at how good this seems to be!!!The flavor is weird and kind of chemical and the texture is also a bit grainy, very far from my pre workout (pre kaged) which is great; I noticed though, that with unsweetened almond milk this is passableAll in all ... The most important is that this seems to be working in my recovery after strenuous exercise. I would still feel a bit sore but not dead tired as before and pain all over; now it is almost like a positive pain, the gain type of pain

The tropical flavor tastes like a less-orangey/more-tropical version of the Tang drink I used to have as a kid. As far as fitness drinks go, I think this tastes fantastic. It's actually drinkable and maybe even enjoyable, if you like Tang. I have had no problems mixing it up. I started by using a blender, since a few reviews mentioned it being hard to dissolve, but that was overkill. I just put the 12oz water into a mason jar and add the powder and some ice. I put the lid on and shake it up really well. That's all it takes. It all dissolves in 5 or 6 good shakes of the jar. I've used this product over the course of almost 3 weeks, after swim workouts (which are new to me,so I've encountered quite a bit of shoulder soreness). I've definitely noticed a decrease in soreness the day after when drinking Vega Sport Recovery within a half hour of swimming. I've also noticed that "active" recovery works better when I'm drinking the Vega - so, I can do a light swim workout the next day, and it helps reduce soreness instead of aggravating the soreness already there. I'm a fan of the Vega product line to begin with, so I'm not surprised that I like this drink. I am, however, surprised at just how drinkable it is. It tastes pretty good overall, and great compared to most supplement drinks.

Writing this I realize that I should probably change my screen name to "Vegan Dad." I went Vegan a few months back and after losing a bunch of weight I got back into exercising. The problem was that I hurt a bunch and wanted to get a good recovery drink. Recovery drinks (e.g. Hammer Recoverite or P90X Rest & Recovery Formula) really seem to work for me. The problem was most such mixes are not vegan. That's where Vega Sport comes in.I saw it recommended on a couple of blogs as a recovery drink for Vegans, so I decided to try it. I've now been using it for a three months and will attest that it works great - very little post-workout soreness. This has become my go-to recovery drink.I really notice those days where I forget or don't get a chance to drink Vega Sport. In short, this stuff definitely helps me.Two other points. First, I have only used the Apple Berry flavor because the Tropical flavor got negative reviews for taste. I don't know if those reviews of Tropical are fair or not. Second, compared to other recovery drinks, a little Vega Sport goes a long way. You only use one scoop and the scoops are small. This is far less than the amount of powder you would use for a single serving of Hammer Recoverite. If you're Vegan, I would recommend this product.

I discovered this stuff a few months back when I had begun seriously training for my first ultramarathon. Although I know better from endurance mountain bike races, I had begun ramping up my mileage without too much consideration just yet for nutritional adjustments. I was at work one evening after what was at the time a long trail run for me, and had zero energy. A vegan colleague blended a scoop of this for me, and in probably ten or fifteen minutes, it was problem solved -- and this was a few hours after I had finished the run. It's not cheap, but I've been using it ever since. I'll use a scoop for any run between eight and 10 miles; two scoops for anything over ten miles. It does exactly what you want it to. It blends really well in a shaker cup, and unlike recovery-specific products I've used in the past, it actually tastes delicious, which really matters for me after any workout lasting three hours or more. I can also be starving after a long workout, but still have difficulty eating solid foods, sometimes for a few hours. This stuff goes down so easy that I never have a problem chugging it first thing, and it keeps the zombie away, even if I don't eat for two or three hours.Pure magic.

So far, so good. I sweat a ton and lose a lot of essentials during exercise. This Vega powder, mixed with a piece of fruit high in fiber and milk, helps me to recover very well from intense soccer sessions and other lengthy aerobic workouts. I think I've had a little more success with the Osmo recovery drink, slight differences in the ingredients and quantities of ingredients, perhaps Osmo is just better suited to my makeup. But I've valued both so far and recommend giving this one a try if you have similar needs.Side note: I appreciate that folks review the taste of these powders and such, but a review containing only comments -- I've seen a ton of them in my efforts to find what works best for me -- about the flavor is useless. If you care only or primarily about the taste, then drink Kool-Aid or Gatorade and leave the reviewing to people who place the importance of the effectiveness of supplements like these first. Why are you even buying these mixes? Dozens of low ratings with a comment only about the flavor makes searching for what's of greater quality a little more difficult. Thanks.

I'm always skeptical about something that claims to help you recover faster. This actually works. After doing a little research on the ingredients, you realize they don't have to make "claims" like all other crappy supplements. You simply see the herbs it uses decrease inflammation. You also note that ingesting a 4:1 carbs to protein ration increases quick recovery. There is ancient holistic science behind this that doesn't require the bottle to say, "In 3 clinical studies, our proprietary blend did blah.blah" Then you look up the study and they use 7 healthy athletes who were paid by the company! This product has REAL ingredients from the earth, not a lab.Drink immediately after working out and you will NOTICE the decrease in soreness.I'm a Certified Personal Trainer and highly recommend this to my heavy-lifters, endurance runners, and even my weight-loss clients who I punish with hard workouts!THE ONLY CONBlendability is a bit off. It works great in a smoothie, but alone with ice water takes A BIT of shaking.

Holy cow! Two years ago I was at the gym almost 7 days a week. I started a new job in a new city and the 3 gyms to pick from are nothing to write home about. But I needed to get back into shape so I hesitantly returned to the gym. Well, just as my wife said would happen, I'm at the gym 6 out of 7 days like before. My weights are way down and not even close to what I used to lift. And since my muscles haven't lifted a weight in 2 years, my muscles were sore. Really sore.I take Vega One and really like it so I added Vega Recovery to my daily routine. Man. The soreness after a workout, temporary at best, and then gone the next day. Gone are the days of limping at the office 3 days after Leg day.I'm 57 and I can't believe how quickly my body recovers with vega Recovery. It might be better if I used it as directed though. I don;t mix with water. I simply dump one scoop into my Vega One shake, with a half of scoop of Vega Sport protein, add some fruit and 2 grams of glutamine, and boom, best post workout shake ever.

I first bought this project to start using again my soccer games at 40 years old because I was so sore. It worked like a charm and made me recovery in time and way less sore the next day. When I ran out of this I tried to switch to some other BCAA powder for cheaper and more product with good reviews and well it didn't work like this product. You really don't understand how great this product is until you stop using it. at least I didn't.. I thought I could get the same results something else and so far I haven't found anything that works like this. I also workout with heavy weights lately and got DOMS without using this product. This is why I'm again back on this product.I also will say the hydrater from Vega is another quality project that just works and you really don't understand how good it is until you run out and play games and workout without it. both of these products make a huge different for me and at my age to keep me going. NO doubt about it.

I have tried pretty much every recovery product in existence. Most of them were reasonably good at preventing muscle soreness, some were just trash being sold to unsuspecting customers. I have used a really good product as my recovery drink for the last three/four years.I decided to try Vega Sport's "Recovery Accelerator" to see if I liked it. To be fair, I did the exact same workout for two weeks. On week one I used my "old" recovery drink. On week two, I used the "Recovery Accelerator". On the first day nothing was different. But on successive days it was a different story. Literally no muscle soreness. The Recovery Accelerator "Tropical" has a really different yet delicious flavor. The "Recovery Accelerator" is competitively priced,it really works as a recovery agent and the taste is awesome. Tie, Win, Win!Now all we need is a 60 oz size ...

As a runner who logs in about 50-70 miles/week on average, and attends the gym 2-3x week, the Vega Sport Recovery Accelerator is definitely worth your money. I've used this product for about a year so far after seeing ads in running magazines. I love this product because it is a vegan made product, and it is easy on the stomach. Most protein/recovery liquid products are tough on the stomach or give the consumer a bit of stomach issues until they adjust to it, but I experienced none from the start. Using the Vega Sport after running/gym workouts make me feel less fatigued and my muscles don't feel overworked. The only thing that I don't like is the chalky texture when it is mixed, BUT,it depends on how well you mix it. If you swirl the powder in the liquid rather than shake it, you could avoid that problem.

I really love the Vega products because they are organic, vegan friendly and they do work without being gene manipulated or full or chemicals. If you do work out and do your body something good, you should also eat supplements that are good and healthy, not destroy the workout effort with those cheap chemical supps on the market. Great product and a must have if you work out.I trained with and without and when I use it, I do notice a real different, I do recover fast, muscle pain is noticeable less and I feel very little exhauste. It has a really good taste, it's easy to handle (it also comes in little sachets). You have to stirr a bit so that it disolves properly but that doesn't impair its value. The price is justified.I rather pay a little more but knowing I put a healthy supplement into my body.
