The Veet Essential Oils and Floral Vanilla Warm Wax was delivered very fast and arrived well packaged. This is the only variety of warm wax I have been using for a number of years now. For some reason, there isn't much choice in the UK shops when it comes to warm wax (unlike in other countries on the continent) and from my experience this is the best I've tried from what is available. I am always tempted to stock up on other products (including other Veet warm waxes) when I am travelling abroad but for some reason I find it hard to choose and knowing this product works so well I stick with it.I never used hair removal creams because I totally dislike the very strong chemical ingredients.Over the years I have tried all sorts of root hair removal products, including home made sugaring paste and other brands of warm wax, hair removing gel like paste and other varieties of warm wax from Veet. This particular warm wax from Veet works best for me, it is mess free, quick and easy to heat up, easy to apply and remove and, most importantly, it works very, very well at removing hair from the root. Other Veet warm waxes were also good but I was unable to find them anywhere over the last few years so maybe they simply don't sell in the UK anymore.I use warm wax to treat underarms (except in the summer when I shave), bikini line all year around and upper lip hair on a very seldom basis (maybe once a year when I get the impression that I cans see some hair in a particular light). On this basis, a jar of this wax lasts me an entire year. I usually buy this product from a boots store. For some strange reason, this summer I could not find warm wax in any of the shops nearby (pharmacies, supermarkets, any Boots etc) so I made my purchase from Amazon. I am glad I did because the price was lower than in the shops (usually warm wax is not cheap although for my consumption it works out at good value over the year) and delivery was super fast. The product comes in a large microwave proof tub with a removable foil seal under the screw top lid. There is also an instructions leaflet and a package of sealed 12 paper removal strips. You can purchase spare strips when you run out (just search on Amazon). The strips included are just the right size for treating the legs area and can be easily cut to size for smaller treatment areas. They can be used multiple times during the same treatment session and then they will be discarded.I also rely on my own cotton strips which work equally well. I cut long strips of fabric from a good quality white cotton bed sheet which I no longer need (it has to be a good quality thicker fabric of pure cotton). I only need to do this once every ten years because I get a huge supply of strips from one bed sheet and it takes me half an hour. Cut one edge of the sheet at equal intervals of different sizes which would become the width of the cotton strips. I make standard widths and thinner ones about half of the standard width so I have two sizes. Then simply tear with your hands all the way to the other end of the sheet. You end up with loads on long strips of two different widths. Stack them up and cut across to the required length. You end up with loads of spare cotton strips which are excellent for wax removal. I use a number of these for each treatment then I soak them in warm water and rinse the used wax very quickly, then put them in a zipped netting bag and wash in the washing machine. They dry in no time, I flatten them by hand and store them away clean for next time and these can be reused many times. To use the wax you need to heat it up so it softens and becomes runny and it can be spread over the desired area. The quickest way is to melt the wax in the microwave and there are easy to follow instructions inside the box for how to do this. Alternatively, place the pot in a small pan of water. the water must be no higher than the level of wax in the pot. As the water boils, the wax inside the pot will start melting. When the wax starts melting, carefully stir the wax with the wooden spatula included with the product to get an even distribution of heat. You will be able to tell when all the wax has melted because it will become malleable and even in consistency throughout. Both methods are easy and you must check the temperature of the wax before using it. The wooden spatula has a temperature indicator painted on one end and this will show the word 'No' if the wax is too hot. Double check with a small patch test on the back of your hand also to make absolutely sure the wax is not too hot.Use the spatula to apply the wax. It is very well shaped to follow the contours of all application areas. I would recommend applying less rather than more wax at a time because it would be easier to control and remove. Also a thinner layer of wax, will make it easier to re-use the removal paper strips over again.Apply the paper strip immediately whilst the wax is still soft and press gently in the direction of hair growth then pull the paper strip in a quick move away from the skin in the opposite direction of hair growth. It is much, much better to do one section at a time and for delicate areas do small patches at a time (that is why is good to have cut some of the paper strips to smaller sections before starting the job). Take your time and work your way one section at a time to ensure you remove all the hair correctly because, ideally, you shouldn't double treat the same surface of skin to avoid irritation and discomfort.Afterwards apply aloe vera gel to the treated area and do not use any creams, deodorants etc for a few hours to allow the skin to recover. The gel will soothe and hydrate the skin and calm away any redness. The wax has a pleasant sweet fragrance and it contains natural ingredients: Sucrose, Aqua, Citric Acid, Parfum, Solanum Tuberosum Starch, Myrocarpus Fastigiatus Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Peel Oil. It is a sugar based product rather than wax. It is very flexible and spreads very easily once it is warm enough. It completely removes all hair from the root and it leaves skin much less irritated compared to other varieties of warm wax.An excellent product I have been relying on for a good number of years and would recommend it.

I'm Caucasian and extra hairy but prefer epilating and waxing to shaving. Having used cold wax strips on my bikini line for years (which flipping wrecks and is very painful due to having to go over the same area again and again) I decided to give this a go and I was not disappointed.I heated the tub in the microwave for 40 seconds and left for up to a minute. I did have to take it out halfway through as I had unknowingly left a little strip of the foil lid behind and it burnt a bit of the plastic rim, but once that was removed it was fine. The tub retained its shape nicely and the wax was stirrable with the spatula. The is an inner lip where you can wipe excess wax from the spatula which saves the mess. The spatula also has a blue square that changes to 'HOT' if the wax is too hot to use but I would always test on my wrist before using anyway, just in case it stops working over time.I was pretty terrified about using it As I thought surely it hurts more than cold strips as more hair is covered, so I started on a small area and spread some wax on. The fabric strips provided can be torn, so I tore a few up ready to use. Immediately I pressed a strip on, pulled skin taut and quickly removed. No pain, no hairs. I did the whole area and it was really easy and so effective.I had amazingly managed to not get wax anywhere else so didn't have a huge clean up to do. I had previously believed the strips to be disposable but after reading the leaflet I chucked them in a sink of hot water, let the wax dissolve, rinsed fully and left them to dry. I always found cold strips really wasteful so I was impressed with this part.I'm not sure why some say they don't remove hairs as hair is quite coarse and it gets rid of mine! Maybe they are not using enough wax or not pressing the strip onto to area properly? The scent is nice and not too strong. The wax dissolves in water so any mess is easily cleaned up. Also, I have tonnes of wax left so it will last for ages!Overall, I would highly recommend these.

Ok first of all my account says woman but i am a man, well i used to be.Being cool and dangerous i ignored the safety precautions and instructions. They said do not apply to genital areas. If only i had know that before starting the process. Being a man who finds shaving a chore and messy and usually ending up cutting my self i tried a different approach to de-foretizing the jungle.I purchased these hoping that they would do a brilliant job and keep me smooth for 4 weeks (as it says). I had never waxed in my life before so i asked some of my mates what it feels like, does it hurt, is it bad for you etc they all said it was fine, painless. Those liars. They thought it would be a funny joke to let me go ahead and proceed with removing my man hood.I was in the bathroom ready to start the process of removing the "donkeys fur". I warmed the wax up in the microwave. But i warmed it for too long. IT WAS SEARING HOT AND I APPLIED IT TO MY BOLLOCKS. It was such a horrible pain that would turn any grown man into girl. They're blistered now just for your information.I carried on with the process and then I applied some waxing strips and waited for the wax to dry. Once it had dried and counted down from 5 4 3 2 1. Oh god the mistake i made. I teared the hair and most the skin off of my balls. I immediately dropped down to the floor into the foetal position. And cried. Cried. A GROWN MAN CRYING IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN AND AGONY.My Nuts are now red raw like to balls of steak. Every time they graze or slap against my thigh or a item of clothing I shed, not one tear, but two. That is the first time i have cried in 26 years.I went through pain so you didn't have to. DO NOT APPLY TO BALLS OR ANY GENITAL REGIONS.I still have to rate this product a 5/5 cause my balls have never been smother or prettier. Good wax

I usually use an epilator to keep my legs smooth - have done for years - but recently I've been finding that epilating irritates my legs beyond belief and I end up with red and sore legs for several days afterwards. Therefore I was really pleased to have the opportunity to try out this Veet Warm Wax. I have never waxed before - either at a salon or at home - so really was very unsure about what to expect. The instructions are fairly clear and easy to follow, so I warmed the wax up and did the patch test as advised. All fine there, although the wax took a while to cool down to the right temperature after 45 seconds in our 750W microwave. The next day I warmed the wax once again and had a go on my legs.At first I found it a bit messy to get the wax from the jar to my legs without strands floating around, but this improved as I went on. I also found the first few strips a bit hit and miss in terms of how much hair they removed, but again this improved as I proceeded as I found that the way that I was pulling the strip off initially obviously wasn't working all that well. So, in a nutshell it's a bit of a learning curve! However, I stuck with it and after just around 10 minutes, (not bad for my first attempt?!), I had lovely smooth legs. The strips can then just be washed in some warm water, (best to place them into the warm water as you go I find), and then can be dried and re-used next time. Even better for me personally, I found that I got way less pain and irritation using this method than with epilation and so I'm definitely a convert!I think it's quite good value for money as I estimate that this pot will do my legs around 3 times. Recommended!

I didn't find any problem in using this product, in fact I would definately recommend it, as planning to use it again. I was a bit dubious about heating wax up in the microwave. I had previously heated batik wax up in my deep fat fryer (well that wasn't recommended) and subsequently ruined it; me and wax were maybe not a happy mix? Actually it was quite easy and smelt quite good too, probably the wax wouldn't smell good without perfume covering it up? Applying it was easy and it was pleasantly warm and even soothing on the lower legs. I timed it to the letter, in fact did everything to the letter following the instructions - if you don't do this, I think you could go seriously wrong. The trick to pulling off the cotton strips is to do it fast, very fast and even more important - close to the body. I used two hands for this, one to keep the cotton strip close to the body and the other to do the quick pulling action. It was red for a few seconds but this quickly went. I wouldn't advise doing immediately before going out, I did before going to bed, but the skin was back to normal by the morning. I have used an epilator before now as I have quite long, fast growing dark hair, very strong and pale, very fine skin - not a good combo. Compared to the epilator, which is slow torture I perform on myself about every four weeks, this is very fast and quickly over torture, so hardly torture at all. It beats daily shaving in the shower hands down anyway and the frequent cuts to skin which are not very aesthetic and quite painful too. Would strong recommend - but do follow those instructions.

It does remove hair but with a few caveats. It's my first time using this type of wax, I used strips before and am not a big fan. This was very easy to warm up; however, the stick can't entirely be trusted because when I first put it in it said ok and in the middle of my waxing it changed to NO, but I followed heating instructions, luckily my microwave matches the instructions and I was good to go.Applying is easy although I had to be careful not to use too much. I had a few drops here and there, not an uncontrollable mess but mostly because this is water soluble and was easy to clean. To remove, I discovered it was easier to apply the strip as soon as I applied the wax and then leave it as muchas my patience allowed and then pull back and that produced much better results than removing right away. The strips can be reused during the process even if they have wax on them already. After use just rinsing them in water will leave them as good as new.The instructions say not to reapply on areas already waxed but for me one try wasn't enough and since I know my skin I knew I could handle a repeat and that way I got great results. It wasn't painful for me, it's not pleasant but I didn't feel pain. The only area that was bit tricky was the bikini, I found it difficult to apply and don't let it get where it wasn't supposed to go and then removing it wasn't easy. Hopefully after a few tries I'll master it.Lastly, I just tried it for the first time so I can't comment on results but will update if my experience changes.

Veet Oriental WaxI've been using this wax for a few years and would definitely recommend it.The wax can be heated in the microwave or on the hob. I've used both methods and both work fine. Give it a stir after heating to mix hot and cooler wax from the heating process. It takes less time to heat as the jar empties so be warned it will be too hot and runny if you heat half the jar for the full time. If you find it cools down whilst you're using it, stand it in a bowl of hot water. I haven't had any problems with the wax not working after reheating several times. The spatula is shaped, apparently for applying to different areas. It works fine although I think the 'hot' indicator is a bit cautious. The wax gets much harder to spread evenly as it cools and an even thin layer is best so I probably use it hotter than it recommends to start with. Yes it does drip when it's hot if you have too much on the spatula.I love the fact it washes off with water. No more sticky patches even after a shower (and drips and spills are easily cleared up). I don't mind the smell. It is a little strong but not unpleasant. It works well for me. I use it mostly for underarms and bikini and it removes the hair with no trouble. It gets better the more you use it especially if you've been used to shaving. Regrowth is dependent on your hair and again I think it improves with use.Overall highly recommended. In my opinion the only negative is the strips provided - I prefer to use cotton reusable ones which are softer.

I have used few different waxing products after I bought this one, looking for the perfect one basically. But I found myself coming back and buying more of Veet simply because I couldn't find a replacement that would be this good.First off all, the jar lasts me for 2 full legs + half arms applications, which doesn't sound like a lot, but with waxing you don't have to do it as often as shaving, so buying a jar once every 4 weeks it's a great deal for money (when on offer!)I use a wax heater now but have heated in up in a microwave before. The smell is just out of this world, it's not overwhelming, just a delicate scent, very pleasant. Now, waxing. It's time consuming but when done right,it leaves your skin soft for at least a full week (I only waxed 3 times so far).I use a baby powder before I apply the wax to get rid of the skin oil to make the wax stick better to the hair. It works wonders, getting rid of 98% of the hair.My hair is growing back lighter and thinner, it really is worth it, I will never go back to shaving again. The only thing I have noticed about it is that when heated for the second time it appears to be less sticky and less effective, getting rid of maybe 75%-80% of the hair. I am not sure how it works with a wax heater yet, but heating it up in a microwave the second time had that weird effect. The only thing I can advise is simply taking only half of the wax into a different container and only heat how much you need.Overall, great experience!

This is the second time I've used an at home wax kit, with the previous kit being the cold heat up in your hands wax strips from Veet. Despite them being designed for sensitive skin, I was left with red itchy blotches (clearly some kind of allergic reaction), so I was hesitant to use this product, with all of its 'essential oils' and pleasant scent which I thought would cause another reaction. After using this product however, I cannot wait for my hair to grow back just to use it again! It smells amazing, my skin was so soft afterwards and it left behind zero hairs (make sure you allow the strips to really adhere to the wax and let the wax harden a tiny tiny bit when the strip is applied so it really gets a hold of the pesky hairs!I was only going to use this product on my underarms and get my legs done in a salon but after seeing the results I'm gonna keep my money and do my legs myself! So easy to wash off with just some warm water and the strips really are completely reusable! I wouldn't recommend this product to beginners because if its too hot when you apply it, you can irritate your skin and not be as effective at pulling out the hairs but then again, it is so cheap so why not practice on yourself after watching a few youtube tutorials and become a pro and save hundreds in the process! Amazing product, wish i had bought it sooner!!

I've tried a few veet products this month with varying success but I don't think I'm cut out for home waxing. This is probably a really good product but it's just too scary for me. It smells really, really nice though. It's easy enough to follow the instructions and get it to the right temperature and the tiny 'too hot' indicator on the spatula is probably going to spare you from getting third degree burns but I'm just really nervous of putting it on when it comes out of the microwave. By the time I dither about with the spatula to test the heat it's cooled down enough to probably be not efficient. I don't know.I get my waxing done at the beauticians and when the lady at the salon puts the wax on it does feel really hot but I trust them to know what they're doing. When I go to put this stuff on I'm convinced I'll do myself an injury and chicken out until it cools a little. It's not effective.I have fairly fine, fair hair on my legs and it's off in minutes when I go to the salon. With this it takes an age because of my wimpy faffing about and it's more hassle than it's worth. I'll keep trying with it and hopefully get better with practice but won't be replacing it when it runs out.If you're brave and have half an idea of what you're doing you'll probably get brilliant results from this, and I envy you.

This product works really well, but needs to be used the correct way. After heating the jar, it takes at least 30-45min to cool back down to a usable temperature, and it can be tempting to use it too hot. The indicator on the spatula is not that useful, so my advice is to test on your inner arm and at the time the wax is bearable on the skin...go away for 10-15min. The first time I used it, it was too hot - not hot enough to burn me or cause pain, but the indicator still read NO!. This is not only bad for the skin, but the wax does not grip the hair as well, and the result I got was about the same as a cold wax strip (disappointing). The second time,I left it until it was only just warm on the skin - I could barely notice the temperature on my leg - and it pulled out every single hair. The spatula is very useful, it is concave on one side to allow spreading the wax onto the leg, which isn't a flat surface. I can see how some reviewers were confused on how to use it, but there are instructions in the pack. The water solubility of the wax is fantastic, and a baby wipe can easily remove any spots of wax that get on anything. Lastly, my legs aren't irritated at all by this product, unlike with the Veet wax strips, and the pain is nowhere near as bad.

The box contains a 250ml jar of wax, which is sealed with foil. You can choose to either heat the tub (with lid and foil seal removed) for 40 seconds in the microwave or pop it in a saucepan of water for 10 minutes on the hob. Whichever method of heating you choose, you are warned not to switch between the two for successive heating of the same jar.The supplied wooden spatula contains a reassuring temperature sensitive strip that lets you know if the wax is too hot for safe use. Once at the correct temperature, you can spread the wax over the area to be treated, apply a fabric strip and whip away to reveal smooth, hair-free skin. The key to minimize discomfort is holding the skin taut and not being hesitant when pulling the fabric off.Any wax remaining on the skin can be washed off easily with water. It was an effective hair removal process and one that enables selective application of wax just where it is needed, minimizing waste. It is messier than using wax in tubes or pre-applied to strips but is one of the most effective home waxing kits I have used. However, do follow the instructions – microwaved wax can be deceptive and if you fail to note the temperature strip you could burn yourself.

I am a newbie to the world of waxing, having always preferred shaving or an epilator so this was a new experience for me.All in all, I found the process really easy from start to finish. There are detailed instructions on the enclosed leaflet - simply pop the wax jar in the microwave for the set time and you're ready to go. There's a handy stick for application that also includes an indicator to let you know if the wax is too hot to apply. All you need to do is spread the wax onto your leg (or other chosen body part), apply the strip over the area and then quickly remove the strip in the direction of the hair.As I mentioned, I've never waxed before so I wasn't really sure how much pain to expect.I suppose it's a subjective thing but I did find it quite difficult to begin with. I'm sure that it's something that gets less painful (or you get more used to it) every time you use it but it's worth considering if you're a beginner like me.The smell of the wax was really pleasant and I will definitely use the product again as it says that there's enough wax to do both half legs at least three times. The wax also performed well and I was really happy with my nice, smooth legs. 4 stars.

The pack comprises a pot of wax, a wooden spatula and some instructions. The product is very easy to use: put the pot in a microwave oven, cook the wax until it melts, stir the wax with the spatula, and then apply the wax as required. The spatula is also a thermometer, which will indicate whether the wax is cool enough to apply. Too hot and the word “NO” appears on the spatula. The wax starts off very hot, but soon cools, and you can reduce the cooling time further by stirring it.Application is a matter of smearing the wax over the required area of skin, apply the paper strip, and then remove, in what the instructions describe as “one swift and decisive movement”. In other words, don’t hesitate or go in little bits – just go for it.In the epilator versus cream versus wax debate, it’s a matter of personal choice. The Philips LadyShave SatinSoft epilator (which also reviewed here) is good for face and legs, but pain-wise is not great for bikini. Cream is somewhere between epilation and strip-waxing for ease of use, quickness and results. For us though, strip-wax gives the best overall result and it lasts longer. This waxing kit works well, and represents good value for money.

I used this product as I have been wanting to wax my bikini line and have been unable to go to a salon over lockdown. I use the veet strips to wax other areas of my body such as arms, face and legs, but I find them quite painful so didn't dare to use them on my bikini line.I was super nervous to use this product, as my hair is thick (I am Turkish!) but I was so impressed with the outcome. The wax is thick and easy to apply, and I can't believe how little it hurts when pulling the strips off! The wax is so soft that you can't feel it coming off most of the time, which I never thought would be possible! The instructions were clear and it was easy to use.I have used it three times now and still have some wax left in the pot - so it is definitely worth the money! Definitely going to use this instead of the strips from now on.Only thing I would say is do not use the heat detector given in the pack, as their suggestion waits for the wax to cool it makes it more difficult to apply. Test on the inside of your wrist instead, as this is a sensitive part of your body - if it is not too hot there, then you'll be fine applying it elsewhere!
