I've ordered these gloves ready for winter cycling, having run them under a tap (!!!) they seem to hold up well to water, they are also lined inside keeping your hands very warm. There is drawstrings around the upper part of the wrist, allowing you to tighten them as required. The elastic built into the gloves more than does the trick at keeping the seal. I've yet to try these in real heavy weather, however I have no doubt they will hold up. The reflective strips are a beneficial little extra.As for padding, the structure of the gloves affords a lot of padding, with extra padding in the key pressure points,

The glove is actually good, but it is a bit too small (at least for me). I would therefore recommend to buy him in case of doubt rather a size larger. Then you can also pull a thinner glove under pressure. I think it's great that the glove is waterproof, with my old gloves, which were not very tight, the fingers have become significantly cold and wet in heavy rain. These protect you from wind and weather. The touchscreen functionality is so good that I have to mention it here extra. I can handle my smartphone WITH glove better than without ... ok I have always admitted problems with touch screens anyway but as I said with the glove it is really good. :)
