My first impression on unwrapping this product was that it was a bit flimsy. However on putting it to use I soon found that not to be an issue. I have had issues with another overshoe being very difficult to put on and take off, but no such problems with this one. The hook and loop tape (popularly known as "Velcro"®) snaps open and closed quickly and easily.Be mindful that to be effectively waterproof this product must be used with a suitable shoe, i.e. one with impervious sole and sides - no leaks. The overshoe prevents ingress of water from above. Not effective if used with canvas shoes, sandals or similar. Most cycling shoes should be fine. For best effect, use with over-trousers overlapping the tops.Less effective with shorts, though probably still better than nothing. Its light construction means that it folds up very compactly - easy to pack away to take on a cycling holiday. The downside is that the material under the toe is rather thin - hence the recommendation not to walk and real distance in them. It is a pity that they are not reinforced in this area.I have found them to be very effective during cycling on a wet day - they keep my feet bone dry. If however you do energetic cycling over a substantial distance, dampness from perspiration from within may be unavoidable.Altogether I am well pleased with this product.

The material is very firm, resistant to rain and mud. Above the leg there is a elastic seam which holds the pullover on the leg. This spot is not really a reflection, but a rainhose would be drawn over it anyway. Due to the elastic band on the underside, the pullover is attached to the shoe. It is nice that the shoe sole is not completely covered by the pullover, but only at the shoe tip. So you have the normal grip on the pedal. The velcro strap at the top allows you to adjust the entire pullover to the foot width. The velcro closures at the back provide much variability. This way, each shoe can be safely enclosed. The pullover is easy to put on. Is therefore no temporal obstacle for the way to work and back.To the size: I have shoe size 45 / 46. You should in any case buy the oversize a number larger (47-49). For example, long men's shoes or sneakers with a wide sole can be enclosed.

Used them for the first time today. Went through what appeared to be one of the Great Lakes on the side of the road. Get home. Take them off. Shoes dry. Sit down. Write review.I'm slightly worried about the durability, but only time will tell.EDIT: November update - heavy rain season started again, and once again I'm amazed with these. Half an hour cycling through rain and huge puddles - completely dry. Plus, Fair Wear and eco-friendly! I promise I'm not a shill. They are a bit fiddly to put on, but not sure what I expected there.EDIT: November update no 2 - I'm buying a second pair. These things are life-savers.EDIT: November 2019 update - year and a half now, original pair still going strong.I do cycle pretty much door to door, so minimal walking with them on.Anyway, the only time my shoes get wet is at my destination, when I have to take the things off.

I don’t usually write reviews but these are brilliant. I cycle to and from work in reg trainers/shoes/boots that I don’t want messed up by rain or ground water, or get wet feet. I’ve tried in diff gaiters in diff fabrics but they’ve all either absorbed water or let it in thro seams. These gaiters aren’t for the fashion conscious but they are made out of decent waterproof fabric. They also open up completely down the back meaning you don’t kill yourself trying to get them on and off past the base of a zip (they Velcro fasten and also hv hi-vis strip down the back). NOTHING will keep torrential rain out but out of lots I’ve tried, hands down these are the best and I’m ordering again!

I purchased a size 44-46 for a size 44 road cycling shoe, however, I found the overshoe to be loose, particular around the heel area. I believe the guide would be accurate for a running/training shoes, a MTB cycle shoe or possibly a size 45/46 road cycle shoe. This product (size 44-46) is definitely too large for a size 44 road cycle shoe (tried on two different makes). In terms of function, I have not tested the product but it looks to be decent quality and waterproof/resistant. I have ordered a smaller size.I brought this matter up with Amazon who have resolved this matter for me promptly and with excellent customer service.

These are great shoe covers:* the are short and light: I always leave them it pannier, just in case* very quick and easy to put on with non-fussy velcro attachments* fully waterproof - well tested in very rainy Irish weather* much, much cheaper than buying 'waterproof' shoes or boots which will work for 1 season. You could wear these with runners in torrential rain and have dry feetThese are not suitable if you need to walk as well as cycle, eg if you need to walk up steep hills. I use these commuting on my ebike so never have to get off and walk.

purchased these to go over my timberland pro series work boots on my cycle commute to work to keep my feet dry,I ordered the largest size xxl as they were going over steel toe work boots, if anything they're a bit to large though they fit ok they over hang the toe a little, but I only wanted them to keep the lace/tongue area of my boot dry as that's where the water gets in, they work absolutely fine, i've done a few wet horrible commutes to date and arrived in work with dry feet, absolutely amazing product.

Arrived a day before a heavy rain (yellow weather warning). It worked exactly as expected - they cover my shoes from the rain and splashes. I cycle everywhere, not only to work - I needed something I can pack easily in case I need it, easily put on/take off and something that covers all types of shoes I wear. My shoe size is UK 6.5 and I ordered 40-43. They also have reflective parts. It's a week now of - almost - constant rain, so I use them every day and so far I'm very happy with the product.

We can say good value for money for this product of call. After use, we would like better quality. Interesting to try, one soon realizes their usefulness. Contente because well waterproof, on the other hand the ledge that goes under (front of the foot) is used quickly. I am aware that it is not made for too much walking, it is for VELO! Be careful, if you plan to put them with big hiking shoes like me, take one or two more sizes. Shoe of the 42, I took in the fork indicated and I put them just.

I've tried quite a few shoe covers for my cycle commute to the train station. The Alturas don't have sealed seams and I ended up with wet feet in about 10 minutes. My GripGrabs last a bit longer but in heavy rain don't cut it. These Vaude are genuinely waterproof, I used them in a real downpour and my feet are dry. They are excellent cycling overshoes and do what they say on the tin. Yes they're not tight fitting - but I'd rather have dry feet than be concerned about how aero-dynamic they are!

Fantastic, just what I was looking for. Keeps your shoes dry so I can cycle in normal trainers, and folds up small in a bag. I got size 40-43 and they are fine for UK 8, they fit 8.5 Nike trainers no problem, Velcro is pretty secure. I don't think they will last for ever however, so am going to order a spare pair for when these wear out.Tested on 20 minute commute in heavy rain and shoes still dry. You may want to put trousers on the outside so water doesn't drop down in very heavy rain.

Love these over boots compared to the heavy duty neoprene previous ones. Sooo easy to put on and off and don’t need to be a contortionist like some other over boots. I Think they’re more water resistant than water proof as feet do get damp but no doubt comes from open underneath as well but it stops that direct water soaking...the ease of you have sold them to me. Time will tell if they’re tough enough to last the off road riding I do but up to now I love them...

the only bad thing about these is that they look exactly what you would expect - a bit daft! they are unflattering (but are better than plastic bags). they keep my feet very warm and dryer than any previous overshoes. even with a degree of wicking from trousers into the shoe, which is unavoidable if wearing trousers, my feet have been dry so far. very practical but winning no talent contests....and we all know.....everyone wants to look cool on their pedal bike!

I'm now on my third pair of these gaiters, which have kept my work shoes dry on my 30 minute commute over several years. I've gone for yellow for the first time, after two black pairs. They are very bright, although look grubby quickly (more so than the black). The only negative is that they can slip off occasionally if you don't fasten them properly... hence why I've needed to get occasional replacements; if you do them up properly, though, they're fine.

These were requested by my better half for his birthday.I must admit they're the most disgusting things I've seen on, but that being said they kept his feet bone dry during a 7 hour rainy Deliveroo shift!! Which is very impressive!I don't know whether it shoes on the picture but there is material that covers the toe of the shoe so the material doesn't flap around. And the hi vis is great when cycling around a city at night. Would recommend again.
