This is an impressively bright light for the size of the unit. The (unopened) light is about as high as and a bit skinnier than a can of Coke. The light can be used with the LED panel flat to the unit, or this can be lifted and tipped through approximately 180 degrees. The light this casts, powered by 3xAA batteries (manufacturer's brand supplied) is bright - easily enough to illuminate an unlit 2.9x4.3m room from the seat of a chair adequately to see right round the room, though for any kind of DIY as a sole light source this would need to be closer - around 50cm to a metre from the area where you're trying to work provides bright enough light to work by. This work lamp from Varta-better known as a battery maker- is quite a neat little work lamp which is powered by three AA batteries. It is designed to stand, hang or even stick to a metal surface via a amagnet on the back of the lamp. However, its fair to point out that both the hanger and magnet are less than effective. The flat hook is very shallow and doesn't feel secure when you hook it on something. If you were using it outside as a camping light it could easily just been blown off whatever it was attached to. The magnet is also not that effective as when I tested it on a fridge, it just slid down. Basically, the light is too heavy for the magnet!The light itself is very good so as a hand held light or just standing it up,

I love chunky stuff and this fits in that category, it just feels good in hand if you get my drift. I like the triangular profile, it reminds me of my favourite whisky bottle. Enough daydreaming, this is a smart bit of kit that any DIY-er will benefit from, perfect for those under sink or close up jobs in gloomy corners. The light can be rotated through a large angle and the opaque lens cover prevents accidental dazzling. Two brightness modes and a useful magnet underneath make it even more useful for retrieving stray screws. It measures approx 12cm x 8cm. If I was to quibble I would say it is quite pricey and I would have preferred rubber edges to give it a bit more durability,

Handy compact battery powered lamppros- Compact size- bright light- battery powered so no need to find a plug- handy hanging hook- adjustable light angle- batteries included! (hurrah!)cons- magnet doesnt always support weight of the light- button is hard to press (especially for anyone with dodgy thumbs - like me)I can see this being handy in a multitude of situations, for DIY in dark places, in the car in case of emergencies, as a light to keep handy at night, as a torch, to take camping etc. Its very bright and throws a lot of clean white light out. Compact and adjustable, nice little lamp.

I need a set of LED lights in case we get a power cut this winter (dumb energy policies have removed spare capacity, and no 70s kid trusts to luck. Personally I would prefer a set of the ones using my rechargeable DIY battery system, but these are beyond my purse at the moment. Uses three AAs. Makes a light bright enough to fill a room. I'll probably assign this to the car breakdown kit for normal use.Battery compartment is horrible to open, but once it's done it should last a while?It is pricey, but I wouldn't pick the smaller size. Not quite a continual use work light, just for emergencies. Be prepared.

This is an excellent little battery powered LED worklight. It is compact. It is durable. It pivots to enable the light to be targeted towards the task in hand. It also has 2 brightness settings plus a little hook for hanging it up and keeping your hands free. I've just used it to plaster the walls in a windowless room and it did the job. Could be used as a reading light, a camping light, a torch among other things. Nothing not to like at the price.

Extremely useful for so many jobs where you often wish you had three hands! Either around the house or under the car bonnet when you can't juggle tools, items, and a torch, been there many times but wish I had this then, would have made the work so much easier with its magnetic and hook attachments, plus the powerful light from the three AA batteries supplied, very well made too, will last forever in normal use. Wish I had it years ago.

When doing DIY I quite often end up holding a small torch in my mouth, which isn't great, so ordered this. It's easy to use (put in the batteries and switch it on!!) and has 2 light settings, bright and really bright. With the moving light screen and flat sides you can adjust to ensure the light you want is shining in the right place. I've not had it long and used it loads.

This a handy battery operated lamp which uses 3 aaa batteries which are supplied . The innovative design gives one the choicr of two brightness levels and can be fixed by the built in magnet or by the supplied hook.There is a switch on the casing and there are many applications the lamp would help with. Very good product and has already come in handy for me .

A very compact portable light; think a torch in the form of a lamp. Batteries are supplied and are easy to fit. The head of the light comes out from the main body and has two settings once switchied on at the side, very bright and slightly dimmer. The light will have many uses, and will come in especially handy in the case of a power cut.
