I originally bought the smaller .7L at Whole Foods and fell completely in love, so I had to get two of the 1L.The colors are gorgeous and unique. They are not the same as the standard Vapur bottles and something about the 'matte finish' makes the color richer and more complex - it shifts as you move them around under the light. Like the skin of a sea creature. As photographed, they are more-or-less a (semi-opaque) warm fatigue green and an almost green tinged midnight blue, right out of the Crayola box. These are very sturdy. I've rolled them up a million times, tossed them at the bottom of bags full of equipment, frozen them and basically put them to hard use. They still look brand new. They never leak or pop open. You can bring a bottle of water with you and be relieved of the dead weight once it's drunk. They take up so little space that it's not unreasonable to stick one in your purse or camera bag. If you need to, you can hook them to the exterior of your bag and they don't flop around as obnoxiously as you'd think, because they're flattish and the plastic slides around smoothly. The carabiner also makes them easy to loop onto a finger when your hands are full. (That seems like a dumb remark, but they seriously are more comfortable to grab than SIGG or Nalgene or anything else I can think of.)The real reason I love them is that they are SO pleasant to drink from. It's like you can pour the water right down your throat. I've never been a fast swallower, but with these I can rehydrate zoom zoom. So, even when I'm at home, I prefer to use these. All my metal ones have been relegated to fall-backs that only get used when these are waiting to be refilled. They can even stand up nicely when they are empty, even though I usually prop them in a pot when I am piping distilled water into them.

If I'm honest, I still haven't decided if I like my Vapur Eclipse yet.I bought one after seeing a saavy traveller walking through the airport with one clipped to her rucksack. Brilliant, I thought, a way to have a collapsable water bottle that you can bring through airport security. And it looked cool too. I was immediately smitten with gadget envy.Fast forward to today. I've had my Vapur for about two weeks. I don't really know what or how to use it yet. I thought it would be great to have in my gym bag. So far, I haven't used it once coming home from the gym. I keep hoping that I'll find some use for it soon....maybe if I'm thirsty on my way out, and I'm not carrying a bag?I haven't been travelling either since I've purchased the Vapur, maybe it will be brilliant for that.On the plus side, its more pleasant to drink out of than I expected. When full (or even a fraction full), it stands up nicely. The plastic is rigid enough that it retains its form in your hand, so you don't end up feeling like you're holding a wet noodle. The plastic doesn't (to my taste at least) flavour the water, so it still tastes clean, a few hours later.I haven't tried anything other than plain water, so I can't speak for how it deals with flavoured drinks. Likewise, I haven't used it enough yet to justify putting it through the dishwasher, so can't comment on that either. So, in conclusion, its a perfectly pleasant water bottle, but it, to date, hasn't really shown me how it is substantially more useful than my insulated Klean Kanteen. I hope I figure out what situations its best for, but to date it hasn't become indispensable in any part of my life yet.

I commute to work and school via public transportation. Every day that involves, train, shuttle, bus, light rail. I wanted something that would easily fit in my bag without taking up space if I wasn't using it, and something that I could access easily. This water bottle has been all of that and more. I'm not particularly gentle on my everyday use things. Tossing them into the car, setting them on the classroom floor and accidentally kicking them. I broke my last two plastic water bottles. I've yet to inflict damage to this and I have had it for six months. While I only use it day to day I intend to use it next time I fly because it will fit flat in my carry on and I can fill it up at the gate and have water on the flight. My last ten hour flight I did that with another liter bottle but it was bulky and took up space when empty. The reason for 4 stars not 5. I can't seem to get it as clean as I'd like it. I left it sitting for a few weeks with a little bit of water in it. I automatically assumed it would have mildewed and therefore scrubbed it the best I could three or four times. I rinsed it out several more with scalding water. The next morning I fill it up and take it with me and I keep getting a mildew like smell. I keep telling myself I'm imagining it. Then I get to the end of the bottle and a nasty tasting piece of I don't know what hit my mouth. so there was some hiding spot for the mildew to survive my washings. Just clean it regularly and you should be fine. That was my bad, but I completely thought I cleaned it well enough.

When it comes to water bottles, there’s so many different kinds. Some come with built in straws, some that are squeezable, some made with plastic, and some made with glass. It really depends what your utmost priority is for purchasing the water bottle. The case being made here for Vapur is that space is the most valuable attribute for the water bottle. By making it out of plastic and allowing it to fold when the bottle is empty is quite nice. But this causes a couple of downstream problems as well. When you open the cap, you can easily squeeze the water out by accident. If you’re on a long hike, underutilizing the water you have can be a huge mistake and lead to dehydration. Also, one of the selling points is the ability to use less space as you consume more water. Although you can make the bottle more compact as you drink, it’s really not that practical. Because once again, you’d be worried about squeezing out water to optimize the space. Cleaning the bottle is relatively easy by unscrewing the cap to rinse. It also comes with a belt clip which is nice if you want to hook it to your backpack. Since it’s made of plastic, you’ll have a little bit of aftertaste. Overall, if compact packing is your number 1 priority, this is a good buy. But for me, I’m content with normal squeezable and/or stainless steel bottles. Especially if you’re just hooking these to the backpack straps, it doesn’t make too much of a difference.

This is less a "bottle" than a bag tied to a bottle top. The bag part easily folds and rolls up for quick storage or space when not filled. When it is filled, the bottle will stand up on its own and you can leave it around until about 1/4 or less (in which case then the bottle folds well). I am intentionally taking the advice that this is for water only. It is not very temperature protective, using this out in the AZ desert, it was about two hours before the water got to being rather warm (80+) from a starting point of 50. Unfortunately, the size of the hole does not allow for ice to be placed inside, and you cannot remove the top for that purpose. There is a carbiner to attach this bottle to a backpack, which is anchored on the plastic rather than the weaker bag. This bottle does survive being outside in the AZ heat without cracking, so the plastic is at least decent. I am a bit worried about the fold cracking as it seems rather brittle in the heat, but it has so far survived six fills. Cleaning is relatively tough, as there is not a standard bottle brush to go down the opener, and the opener cannot be separated from the bag. Cleaning is a relatively slow water injection and rinsing process.

This water bottle is an interesting idea. It certainly is compact and I could see it being useful for camping or outdoor activities where you need a lightweight option for storage conservation. It seems to be well made it’s just odd when you first see it. It’s like a thick plastic/rubberish material attached to a normal bottle head. I do love the clip attached to the top. When it's filled you can clip it to your bag and when it's not you can fold it up.It doesn’t seem to leak at all which is a good sign. The bottle head works really well it has a snap down top that does a good job of staying closed when you close it.This isn’t a water bottle you would use every day but like I said I could see situations where this is a great bottle to keep for things like camping or emergencies. It isn’t the easiest bottle to clean though. So that’s another reason I wouldn’t use this bottle daily. You can clean the mouthpiece without issues but the bag part is difficult to clean outside of just running water through it.Overall if your an outdoorsman this is a good product to keep on hand. I am going to get use out of it when camping.

This is the second set of Vapurs I've purchased, the first having lasted for over 6th months before a family member left them soaking in hand-soap for a few days. They're resistant to absorbing chemicals, but soaking them for long periods of time WILL season them. The only other downside to the Night Blue and Olive water-bottles is it can be hard to identify the water-level in the bag. You have to peer inside to ensure you don't accidentally overfill: but this isn't exactly a major issue and just takes some adjusting.Qality is amazing, the mouths are still the best design I've seen on the market. You can drink as much water as fast as you need to without having to destroy your lungs like most caps. The caps can be a bit tough to close properly, there's been a few times where I forgot to close the lid completely and squeezed the bag while grabbing it, resulting in water flying. As long as Vapur quality water-bags still exist, I'll never go back to traditional bottles. It also helps that the product is American Made.

This is a really handy bottle, easy to fill, very light, and like the way it collapses as you drink the contents, so very practical to carry in a rucksack or a pocket. It really only has one irritation in my opinion, but its minor, and thats that after you've rinsed it out, it absolutely will not dry out inside! I tried it on the draining board, the window sill in the sun, right way up, wrong way up - there was still a mist of moisture droplets inside. Storing it with moisture in for a week or two between uses (in my case) isn't a good idea I would have thought. The simple way I addressed this was to rinse it out and then just pop it in the freezer. It's flat, so takes no room, the moisture freezes so no bacteria problem, and then to use it I just take it out for 5 minutes, rinse and refill.I'm not sure about 'dishwasher safe'.. keeping it in position sounds like it could be difficult as its so light, very little water would get up the spout and it wouldn't dry inside! All it needs is a good rinse out.

I've used Vapur bottles for the last few years and just love them. They're lightweight. Water itself is heavy; I love that the bottle adds little weight of its own! They are easy to store; just roll it up and use the carabiner to hold it all together. Speaking of the carabiner, it works great to attach to a purse or backpack. This 1-liter bottles is a really nice size. Big enough not to have to refill it often, small enough to still be easily totable. The dark color means the water inside may heat up on hot days; this will probably be more of an indoor or winter Vapur for me.A couple of tips:-Vapur bottles don't fit well in car cupholders. Sometimes I put mine in the map pocket of my door instead.-For larger Vapurs,I hand wash; for smaller, I use the dishwasher. For all sizes, I often wash the top in the dishwasher. However I wash it, I end up propping it in a drying rack until it's completely dry before rolling it up, so that it doesn't mildew.

Easy to roll up and store when not in use but doesn't fit into standard cup-holders. Leak-proof cap with sturdy clip to attach to my backpack/bag, but I usually need two hands to pop open the top (secure but a little inconvenient, but I'll take that over leakage). Does not tip over easily despite looking like it could. No bad taste or smell but difficult to clean without using a scrubber brush or swishing a bunch of soapy water inside. Nothing is growing in it, but I like to really clean my water bottles. I got the dark blue one and it looks like it has taken beating with all the creases I've put into the plastic, but it doesn't look like it's going to leak or tear any time soon.It can sound like a paper bag when handled, which is mildly annoying and makes me reconsider purchasing another one. But this bottle is one of the few still made in the USA, so whether I repurchase or not depends on how the other made-in-the-USA bottles compare.

Roll up bottles have become a new thing for me ever since they stopped letting you bring water through airport TSA lines. Having the empty bottle in my backpack for a couple of years until I discovered that fordable bottles really were great for travel. When I need them , they are there, when I don't I can store them in a small compartment in my pack instead of having a long plastic tube taking up space. They do not stay put in most side water pockets though due to their flexible nature, so be aware of that. This bottle is pretty sturdy, and has held up well over 4 flights. It's a smaller size than I use normally, so I had to get used to having less water avail and refilling before flight. The carabiner hook is okay, nothing special. Orange and black color scheme is nice, I actually got comments from strangers on it. Overall, a good alternative to have over plastic hard bottles.

Look, this is a beautiful water bottle. It feels nice in hand and hangs nice on like a bag (or lanyard or whatever). Won't recommend this for one handed drinking but it's possible. Stays decently stiff when you drink from it, almost like a capri sun juice bag.I checked online and there's a problem with the cap where if the top part of the lid gets twisted (meaning you push it clockwise/counterclockwise so the hinge experiences tension) then it will leak when upside down. I did this with my brand new bottle and was really disappointed in it. Eventually, I thought about it and put a small rubber o-ring around the base of the rubber stopper part of the top half of the lid. It seemed to solve the problem.I stomped on this thing in the bathtub and it wouldn't leak. If that doesn't bother you, get this bottle. I plan to keep this guy in my car for park/beach days.

If you've never had a flexible bottle before, getting one will change your life. It's extremely convenient; one does not realize how much weight even an empty plastic bottle adds to a hiking pack. Even when walking around the city it's very easy to use and very light. You must take care to screw the lid on completely (it would make a little click sound) as there have been some instances when it's leaked in my bag. The plastic does not impart any smell to the water, and the spout is a good size to drink from without spilling all over your face. However, the matte finish does not seem to hold up very well to everyday use. It's scratched off in some places, especially as the bottle gets crinkled and folded and rolled. It gives the impression that there are drops of water on the surface, but otherwise does not impair its function.

I've constantly been using this bottle for the past 3 weeks and it's been wonderful.I go to the gym quite often and usually lug around my Nalgene bottle. Ever since getting my Vapur bottle it's been making my trip to and from the gym much easier. On my way I'll roll up my bottle and toss it in the pocket of my sweatshirt. Getting to the gym I'll unroll it and fill it with water, do my workout, dump out whatever water I didn't finish when I'm ready to leave and then roll it back up.The cap also holds super tight. I've sat on it by accident and had no leaks. The only thing I could see going wrong with this bottle is the plastic ripping after months of constant folding. But to be honest, even if that happened I would probably purchase another bottle. They're so convenient that it's worth buying again.

Great little collapsible water bottle. The whole product is very well constructed and the lid and spout are very durable. There are only 3 small things that I believe are worth mentioning.1. The carabiner that comes attached to the bottle is very lightweight plastic and could potentially break easily if not treated with care.2. The bottle was much more rigid and stiff plastic than I thought. Not a big issue, just noteworthy I guess. It does say on the packaging that the bottle is triple layered... so it will definitely be durable.3. The color looks black to me. Not much "night blue" color to it. Definitely does not look as blue in real life as it does in the photo.Overall a great little bottle for the price, and great for everyday or even emergency use!
