This is a three season sleeping bag that weighs 1.7kg – making it about half a kilo heavier than my current 3 season bag. It’s also quite a lot bulkier than the current one, even when compressed down in the compressor sack that it comes in.On the basis of those stats, therefore, the Vango Cadair isn’t doing so well. It’s fair to say that for an economy bag it’s pretty good, and I get the impression (it’s pretty hard to make an accurate assessment in the late spring temperatures that aren’t low enough to test it properly) that it is actually warmer than my other bag. It is made with a double layer of hollow fibre, offset to eliminate that perennial problem with sleeping bags that where they are stitched through there is a cold spot because there is either no insulation (my old feather one) or the insulation has been crushed (more recent synthetic material bags). That having been said, the stitching lines in the two layers seem to be pretty close to each other – I fear that this advantage may not be as significant as it could have been. This bag also features two drawstrings. The first goes around the hood, as usual, for optimum heat retention, including your head, when you’re down around the recommended minimum temperature of zero degrees C. What’s a little unusual is an inner drawstring which you can use to tighten the bag around your shoulders. A cynic might say that this is here to give so purpose to the double lining, however, and I’m not convinced that it’s actually of much value. The cord doesn’t run very freely there, either, so quite hard actually to draw it when you’re inside.IN conclusion, however, notwithstanding the fact that it may not be quite as clever as it claims, there is no doubt that this is a perfectly capable economy sleeping bag, an ideal solution where weight and volume are not critical. It’s comfortable, and I’m sure that it’ll be more than good enough within the suggested temperature range of 0 – 20C. If you’re looking for something for festivals or for car based camping it’s perfect, and even if you’re backpacking it’s certainly worth consideration.

I got this bag for my son to use camping and during sleepovers. he previously had a Halfords brand sleeping bag, which was much bulkier and not as robust- we kept having to repair the zip on it and the storage bag for it didn't last more than a few uses. This bag on the other hand has proven to be well made. The zip is sturdy, it stores compactly, is easy for my 11 year old to do upon his own, and it is extremely comfortable. It also holds up well in the wash. As far as it being a three season bag, that too gets a two thumbs up. The weather has been quite variable recently, and my son was actually a bit apprehensive about using it on the warmer nights as it had kept him warm on the chillier nights, which he did not need any extra blankets for. His worry was unfounded though as it was quite breatheable. During very cold weather extra protection is advised per the label, and when he starts sleeping outside under canvas during winter, I will get him a diff bag to carry. But for spring, summer, and fall, this is a nice piece of kit well worth the money.

When rolled up the Vango Cadair 250 Mummy Sleeping Bag is surprisingly small and compact and I was initially concerned it maybe wasn't substantial enough to actually keep me warm in cold conditions. But, fortunately, it proved extremely efficient at retaining warmth thanks to it's very effective double-layer design, plus the inclusion of drawstrings that allow you to pull it tighter to your body and minimise the warmth getting out and the cold getting in.The hood is also a nice touch and noticeably enhances the warmth and overall cosiness of the sleeping bag. I certainly got a very comfortable night sleep on a cold night while camping and will certainly be making the Vango Cadair 250 Mummy mysleeping bag of choice from now on.

I bought this as I was accompanying my 7 year old for a sleepover at the Natural History Museum. I have to say that it was an extremely comfortable and snuggly sleeping bag and I was actually too hot in it as there were 500+ people all sleeping in the main atrium (with the dinosaur!!). However, despite that I did manage to get some sleep and found the overall comfort level very good. Haven't used it outdoors so can't really comment, but would imagine that it would keep you nice and warm :-) Easy to roll back up and put back into it's bag - will be buying another one if we ever need another sleeping bag.

This was bought as a replacement to a sleeping bag bought in 2000 which had been used hundreds of times over the years so it had a lot to live up to! It is very warm and plenty thick enough to keep you cosy at nights, I usually sleep on a blowup mattress but I have also slept on a mat in it and it was very comfortable on both. It is not too noisy when you are moving about in it and the hood is not too small, however the body part of the bag is quite tight for me. Maybe it's just taking some getting used to though. I'm very pleased with it overall.

I searched for 2 season sleeping bags as I'm never out in anything too inclement and didn't notice that this entry in the list was 2-3 season. As such it's rather on the warm side for summer camping, even with Blighty's far from great weather.I ended up using it more as a duvet than a sleeping bag and I'd certainly wouldn't be worried pushing it into spring and autumn usage.Packs up reasonably small too, although it's definitely a car camping sleeping bag, not the kind of thing you'd want to strap to a back pack whilst hiking

Nice bag, light weight and very warm. It doesn't compact as much as I had hoped but I guess the compromise there would be thermal insulation. Good function and no snagging zips. Would be great for camping in most conditions except very cold in a bivi. The wife likes it so it can't be bad at all.Only 4 stars due to it being slightly larger than I had wanted - not a failing on the bag, I guess more my expectations...

This is a very comfy and snuggly sleeping bag. I hadn't thought much of mummy sleeping bags until I got this and I find that I love it. it is very cosy especially because the mummy shape allows for warm wrapping and snuggly feel. This one comes with extra paddding and 2 draw strings one for the hood and one around the shoulders. It is well made and good value for money. I recommend.

Great bag, very soft and warm. Love it and bought one more for my partner.Tried it at the beginning of October in Scotland, the temperature dropped to 5 degrees and I was feeling perfect, very warm and just with underwear and a thin thirst, so I guess even in colder time will be perfect if you put some cloths.

Good, solid sleeping bag. Used in October and kept me warm all night. I am a 6ft2 well structured bloke and this wasn't too uncomfortable as it had a reasonable amount of space. Of course you can get much better bags, but unless you are going somewhere particularly cold this will more than do the job.

To keep it short, great 3 season bag! Comfortable, warm, well made and very well priced. The only slight negative from me is the bulkiness of the sleeping bag when compressed compared to some other similarly priced 3 season bags. 4 stars, recommend for the casual camper who wants a bit of comfort.

Comfy and warm. Roll up easily into compact storage bag when need to be packed away. The draw cords at the top are great for those really cold nights when you need to be totally enclosed. Also, unzipped these fully and attached 2 together to make double duvet when camping.

Lovely warm sleeping bag, however the one I received is faulty. The draw string for the hood has accidentally been caught in a seam, meaning it doesn't work as intended to tighten the hood around the head. I'll attempt to repair it myself as I don't have time to return it.

I brought this as whenever I go camping I get really cold and this looked like it would be amazing. It is really well made and nice and thick, so if you are like me, you will actually stay warm!! I am really pleased with this and hope it will last me a long time!

What a great sleeping bag! Comfortable material, lightweight but warm and kept my little girl happy all camping holiday. The bag fits well into the covering bag it comes with so that you don't have to struggle too hard to get it packed up after use.
