I left five star feedback because the manufacturer shouldn't be punished by something apparently done by the FDA.Apparently, someone tipped off the FDA to the direct importation of this tea from India, bypassing traditional tea distributors, and something about that piqued their interest. If they see their duty as protecting the quality and safety of the food that Americans consume, I can see how they might want to inspect the tea, even though I think that should be between me, Amazon and the tea company. Now for the weird part. Apparently, the FDA opened my tea, probably removed a sample, and then resealed the package with FDA logo packing tape. I'm not happy about this.If the FDA wanted to test the tea, they should have bought a package and tested it. They should not have used the power of the federal government to seize my tea, open it, put their grubby little hands in it, tape it up and return it to the retail channel. The FDA insists on tamper proof packaging for the food and drugs they regulate to ensure safety for consumers, and then they blatantly violated the tamper proof packaging of my tea.I haven't consumed any of this tea, and I'm not inclined to drink it. Who knows what happened to this tea. Is this FDA tape legit? I could easily buy tape with an FDA logo.I can't blame the manufacturer for this, as the tea was apparently packaged properly when it was shipped. I think Amazon should have culled this FDA sample and destroyed it as damaged goods that cannot be sold, because sealed food packages cannot be opened and then taped shut, even if this is ostensibly done by a government agency. It's simply not a legitimate thing to do. However, Amazon's culpability is minor compared to the FDA. They shouldn't even think of doing something like this. The photos show the tea package when I received it. All I did was peel away the FDA tape. The package had clearly been cut open and then taped closed.

This is a good sized bag of English breakfast tea for the price that you pay. I am a fan of loose tea, and in particular English breakfast tea, which is by far my favourite, so was keen to try this one out.It arrives in quite a plain-looking re-sealable aluminium lined brown paper bag with black and cream product label on with plenty of information. I actually like the understated look of this. The pack explains the best way to make your tea – 2g of loose tea (a tea spoon full), 180ml of water, 3-5 minutes brewing and et voila! You can swerve with milk or sugar. I usually drink my English breakfast tea with milk, but to get a better understanding of the flavour I drank this with no milk or sugar. After minutes of brewing I got a delicious flavoured tea,not so strong that you can stand a spoon in it but strong enough to taste the delicate flavours. The tea was picked in June 2015 with a best before date of June 2018, although to be honest it won’t last that long at the rate that we drink tea in my house! The 453g bag will easily make more than 200 cups of tea – making it extremely good value for such a great tasting cuppa. It is a completely ethical Fair Trade product. I was offered this product at a discounted price in return for my honest review. Overall it is a great tasting loose tea that I would be happy to recommend.

I bought this without having ever experienced Vahdam tea before and was pleasantly surprised. I had to get away from coffee as my stomach was losing it's tolerance for all the acidity in it. This tea was full of flavor and body. My father and I both have 3 cups ever morning and then switch over to 1-2 cups of their amazing oolong in the afternoon, and then 3 more cups of their green tea in the evening. Very good stuff and I highly recommend it. I also noticed that drinking this tea had killed my bad breath, armpit odor, and cleared up my skin on my upper back that had lots of breakouts, and lastly it has helped cure my insomnia. This is no joke!I bought this tea back about a week and a half ago and my body has transformed a lot and I am becoming much more energetic, happy, and healthier. I never felt this way with the old tea bags or with my coffee. This stuff is good medicine!

Brews a robust cup of tea. I use a tea ball and a large cup of water that I boil in the microwave. Please note that these are not whole tea leaves like other teas that I purchased from this vendor. It consists of pieces of tea leaves (including some tips and some that do not unroll well) and many stems. I suppose this makes the brewing process faster and is probably typical of all breakfast teas. I find for best results, I have to superheat the water and use more tea. At the price, the quantity used is not a real issue. I am not sure if I will purchase it again.but it brews a robust cup of tea. I use a tea ball [email protected] a large cup of water that I boil in the microwave and then make a second cup.The photo is after brewing two cups without super heating the water, but a pound is so much that that decision is in the far future.

As a Brit in America, going from soft water to hard water was rough. I tried so many English breakfast/Assam/strong black teas that just didn’t live up to what I was used too. This tea is far better than what I used to drink.I first bought this when teavana went out of business. Their tea was the closest to ‘good’ that I could find, but I found Vahdam teas on a daily deal. I’ve tried others in between sales before and everything else has been disappointing to me. I buy this whenever I need a refill now, but it’s even better when it discounted. It’s strong but isn’t heavy on the bitterness. I drink mine with soy milk but it’s tasty without too.I steep mine for 3mins 30secs with 2 teavana spoons (somewhere between a teaspoon and a tablespoon I think) for a 14oz mug. I use a wide mouth infuser to allow space for the leaves to unravel and move around.

After so many years of drifting into the convenience of tea-bags, lockdown provided the perfect opportunity to get back to basics and start investing the time and effort to make a proper cuppa. I tried a few loose tea providers on Amazon, which were mostly good but for me Vahdam teas are my favourite. The English breakfast tea provides a perfect strong and full flavoured cuppa. I brew for around 4-5 minutes but unlike a Darjeeling (which Vahdam also supply) can tolerate longer without going bitter. Such high quality tea is, per cup made is possibly more expensive than my old tea-bags. However, unlike before, I never waste a cup these days- and no longer do I find cold half drunk mugs around the place. So I think it all balances out. Lockdown is coming to an end, I feel, but I shall be continuing with my Vahdam teas.

Hi Bala, thank you for your email. I first bought your tea from Amazon, it was the more expensive one I paid about £13.50 for 450gms. My wife and I really liked it with just a small amount of milk. Then I thought I would try it without any milk and it was just as nice. So I went online to order more but the price was then over £20. So I saw the English breakfast tea which was a lot cheaper, so I ordered the 450gm pack but it wasn't as nice as the first one. It's ok with some milk. So when I have used up this packet, I will re order the more expensive one which we really like. It does seem to have come down a little in price. I have introduced it to my friends and family and they all liked it.So thanks for your email and keep making your lovely Tea. Best wishes Norman Marzell.

I love this tea and as a home worker I work my way through about 8 pints of the stuff a day and get slightly panicky if I find we have run out.I have always drunk a lot of tea but when I discovered delicious loose leaf tea I realised that what I thought was the taste of tea is actually just the taste of tea bagThis Vahdam tea has long pieces of tea leaf which takes longer to flavour the tea and you can see how the leaf softens and expands in the tea pot. Because this tea leaf is less compact than the powder type leaves I need 2 very highly heaped tea spoons for a strong pot of tea for twoThe longer, soft tea leaf pieces are chewy and not unpleasant if they go through the pot into the cupThe product photo shows the tea without milk but this breakfast tea is nice with.

This was my first pack of Vahdam tea, and on the strength (sic) of this, I shall definitely be buying some more. It's a quite large-leaf blend, so if you like your tea relatively strong, you'll have to leave it to steep for perhaps rather longer than you might have anticipated. This describes itself as an 'Original English Breakfast Tea' - if that is the case, then it is likely that the EBTs I've sampled over the years are not the same. My experience of EBT is that it tends to have a very 'clean' edge to it, which makes it good for that first, refreshing infusion of the new day. This (the Vahdam blend) seems to have a softer, richer, more malty flavour, which may imply greater reliance on Darjeeling. It is not the same as those EBTs of yore, but none the worse for it.

Best cup of tea since the 1960's in England. Love, love this tea. I use a Teavana strainer that goes inside my tea mug and is big enough to allow the tea to circulate. No more tea bags and the powder they call tea in them for me. Addendum:I took a bag of the tea to England when I went there in July, as I know they are all teabaggers (not the American political kind :-) I Dragged out the old teapot "oh I don't think we have that anymore Brina" and forced them to try it..... I had to leave my bag of tea with them when I came home! Luckily I always keep a spare for such occasions.Update: Still the best tea out there, you will not regret buying this tea.I have been considering carrying some with me in case I get picked up by any passing spaceships.

I would like to update my review on this product. First of all, I would like to give five stars to the customer service department for their quick response to my disappointment in their product. I received correspondence immediately and a replacement of the product and some additional samples of other teas. The replacement teas were much better; I especially like the flavored tea, "Chai" being my favorite. I give the English tea only 4 stars because I found I have to use more tea than the directions call for and steep it longer. This may be a matter of taste since my husband and I do like our English tea strong and robust.I would recommend this company; they are very customer-service oriented which is a breath of fresh air this day and age.

This is a lovely tea, it's weaker than tea bags (which is be expected as there is less surface area in loose leaves) but I much prefer it because it has an incredible aroma, more than any breakfast tea I've tried. I expect this is because it is so fresh - the bag I received ordered was picked the previous month which is amazing.I can't comment on how it compares to other loose leaves but it's really a step up from tea bags.I've found I use closer to 3g per a cup, so the bag won't give me as many cups as they say, but you're still getting a really nice tea. There's also something really nice about the process of using leaves which makes up for the extra washing up involved.I'll be buying again.

Fantastic tea. These leaves are so fresh tasting it is a complete revalation and change from what you can normally buy here.Drink with or without milk, its not bitter at all without it.The depth of flavour this tea provides is outstanding. I have offered a few work colleagues cups from a brewed pot and all the comments are along the lines of "very refreshing" and "quite possibly the best cup ive ever had".This size bag is good for about 150-200 cups, so not as cheap as a supermarket but it is an entirely different product.Do not confuse this with "normal British" tea, it is far superior in flavour and freshness. Highly recommend and will definately be ordering more soon.

I bought this to make my concentrated chai mix that requires a strong tea base when making from scratch. Based on reviews I was hoping I could use less tea than I’ve been using (with the Tetley brand) to make it. Unfortunately I have been using more of this and have went through the whole bag in less than 3 weeks (3 batches). It’s awfully expensive for me to use considering the strength was not what I was looking for. The leaves expand and take up more water providing even less concentrated tea. It does taste really good so I gave it 4 stars. But just didn’t live up to the strength statements. It’s just average strength, so I will not repurchase for this price$$$

First I am not a "connoisseur", for any tasting. But the other people around here seem to share my views. So I guess my view is at least valid. I have only tries a few English breakfast teas. Of the 3 this one is the richest and fullest and the one that tastes the way I would expect a good cup of tea to taste. It is a little bit I think it was about 25%, more expensive than the bargin type of stuff. And I was OK with the cheaper brands for making Ice tea. Until I realized that the cheaper tea, iced, at night gave me the awful heartburn I was having. I got this and the heartburn went away. I still like Ice tea at night. But now it tastes more full and robust.
