I just replaced my three year-old black Big Mummy with another Mummy -- the non-mesh fabric between the top of the bag and the straps was fraying. To be fair, I probably hastened its demise by stuffing it to capacity, hanging my lock from the hook strap and always carrying it by the left shoulder strap. Still, three years is a decent lifespan considering how much I abused that thing. I can't speak to the claims that build quality has gone downhill until I see how this one fares.I've had a LOT of mesh equipment bags in the last 20-odd years. This one is my favorite because it has a front pocket for small items (goggles, caps, anti-fog spray, MP3 player, etc.) that would otherwise get lost at the bottom of the bag.The main compartment's size is big enough to satisfy even the most discerning equipment hoarder. I managed to get all of this junk in there:- Finis alignment kickboard (much smaller than traditional boards)- 1 pair of short-blade fins- 4 pairs of paddles in various sizes/styles- Dog-bone style pull buoy- Front-mounted snorkel- 2 water bottles- Drag parachute (in its own mesh bag, along with ankle lock and 2 pairs of neoprene fin socks)- 3 polyester practice suits (They last forever. I will never go back to Lycra!)- 3 pairs of mirrored goggles (took my indoor goggles out until fall)- 4 caps (took a few out when I switched bags)- X-1 Interval iPod Shuffle waterproof case- Nose clip for snorkel sets- Anti-fog spray bottle- Gym lock (hung from the bungee strap on the water bottle pocket)- Car keys if I'm traveling light* I tend to dump whatever equipment I need on a given day at the end of my lane and drop the dry bag on a lounge chair nearby, rather than leaving it on the deck where it will just get soaked day in, day out (esp. since the bag lives in my car year-round).

I am a mature woman (that means too old to tell you my exact age on a public forum) who goes to a therapeutic swimming pool three times a week. I take a water aerobics class, then I swim laps, then I go to the fitness center and get on the boring treadmill. In our aerobics class we need to bring our own exercise bands. We do not use them during every class but they need to stay in the bag. The floor of the pool is slippery and I need a to wear a heel lift, so my water shoes also need a place. My ankles are extremely inflexible, so swimming without my training fins is almost impossible. I also like to listen to music while I swim and so my waterproof MP3 player needs to have its own storage place (preferably attached to the goggles where I can see them). You get the picture. I am an old lady with a lot of "stuff." This bag holds all of my wet stuff. I can turn the bag around to make sure that I have everything before I leave home and when I am done with pool. I love this bag. It is the perfect size. And it is also a very attractive color.

Update June 21, 2013We own a total of three TYRBig Mesh Bags have have had them for a while now, at least a couple of years. Still going strong. We carry them for swims, travel to beach, trekking up the hills, etc. They are very durable and one of the bags is used by our little boy.For the price I paid, I highly recommend it!_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________I read some reviews on Amazon about this bag prior to buying, mixture of good and bad, but we really need one that is simple and not too expensive. I gave it a try anyway.Pleasantly surprise by the quality of this bag and how hand it is for swim practices, etc. I subsequently bought 2 more and another two for a friend.Have been using this bag for more than 3 months now.

LOVE THIS BAG! I am a former professional athlete w/ shot knees. Took up swimming and I carry a ton of TOYS to the pool. The list of things I carry in this bag are as follows; , a lock, goggles, a water bottle, large chamois towel in it's storage case, training fins, swim buoy, freestyle snorkel, XL hand paddles, a lap counter (really small), sinus saver nose plug, Sony MP3 player, ear plugs, and a sprint kick board, and dry pair of undies and shorts .......and I think that is about it thus far! I have owed it for 2 months and no frays, pull, or tears. I leave the lock and dry clothes and take the rest to the side of my lane at the pool. Unpack as I use things and repack at the end of my two mile swim.Great little bag. It is wet on the trip home. So here in Maine (it's winter) I keep it on the rubber mat in my vehicle.

I was using a cloth bag earlier, and wanted to buy a swim bag. I didn't know how it would work before I bought it. It's very simple, it's just a plastic mesh bag that you can put your wet clothes in after swimming. And it dries out quickly afterwards. If you only keep your one set of dry clothes to wear after swimming and your towel, it works great. After swimming, take out and wear the dry clothes, put in the wet swim suit, come home, and take out and put away the wet clothes to wash. It works great! The beauty is that the bag itself dries very quickly. So you can pretty much put a new set of dry clothes in the bag very soon after taking out the wet clothes. The front pocket is useful for the goggles and other small stuff, and the side pocket I use for some other things.

I believe the marketing on this pushes as a bag for swim gear, but I use it for my MMA gear at the gym. For me, it easily fits a pair of boxing gloves, MMA gloves, and shin pads in the main compartment. The seperate zippered pocket is handy for small accessories, in my case hand wraps and a wrap winder. The water bottle holder fits a standard gatorade bottle like you see on NHL and NBA benches perfectly. It leaves just a little slack which is easily taken in by the drawstring on the bag. The drawstraing will also help you fit a smaller water bottle.I would recommend this bag for anyone who has gear they need to air without emptying their bag.

I use this bag at the pool but also use it at the beach, as well. The holes in the mesh ensure that all the sand sifts through the bag. With my beach bag, suntan lotion, etc the entire bag is very light to carry around. I also use this bag to hold my personal gear when I go snorkeling (just make sure I use fins that don't create snags in the mesh) and people have asked me where I got bag. I also ordered another one for another member in my household and they are happy with it as well. I highly recommend this product for its versatility, quality and price; I would not hesitate to purchase this again, if I needed another one.

I used to lug a duffle-bag sized tote to the pool, packed to the gills with fins, buoys, hand paddles, and other accessories, as well as deck shoes, towel, toiletries, clothes, etc., and felt like it should have been on wheels so I could just pull it behind me. But now that I'm traveling lighter, I can easily fit my deck shoes, goggles, cap, towel, toiletries, and other small odds-and-ends of things in this bag, sling it over my shoulder, and off I go without feeling like Atlas. It has extra pockets, draw-string closures, and other conveniences that may this Tyr bag very useful and a great value.

I've only had/used this bag for a month, so I can't comment on its durability. However, it's the perfect size for swim stuff (including towel) and workout clothes (including sneakers), so if I miss lap swim, I can still work out in the fitness area. It also fits nice on your back, and the straps fit over my down jacket neatly. I'm generally happy with it. The only critique I have is that it would be nice if the bottom of the bag was the same material as the side panels, because I take mass transit. I don't want to use a towel that's touched the subway floor!

This bag is great. It holds all my swimming gear, including : goggles, swim cap, JLab swimming headphones (also a great purchase, by the way), flippers, pull buoy, pull paddles, small sport towel ("shammy"), water bottle, flip flops, change of clothes, and a small bag with my shower accessories. It won't hold a full sized bath/pool towel, however it's very sturdy and has help up well for over 6 months now. There are many other people at my pool who have the same exact bag - even men (though in a different color : )

Picked this bag up per the good reviews. My only real concern mirrors several other reviews, the material does feel kind of cheap, combine that with the mesh and I question it's durability and longevity. It has however held up the past few months of going to the pool 2-3x week. I can fit my fins, 2 goggles, paddles, towel, combo lock, jammers, anti-fog spray and still have room for SOME other stuff like keys, wallet, maybe a change of clothes depending...Not expecting the world for something < $15.

This bag has so much space I can fit lots of items in it. The only thing I don't like is the pink fabric is noisy. The mesh is quite. However the pink fabric is durable and I can put heavy items in the bag. I usually carry it or sling it over one shoulder, but when it gets too heavy I wear it backpack style. I can leave a lot of things in it, such as fins, goggles, shower shoes, swim suit, and sweaty clothes and they easily air out and dry off in the bag.

I bought this bag for our sand toys at the beach. We just put them all in the bag and it was so easy to rinse them all at the same time. We love this bag for this reason. No more making 10 trips to the water to rinse the toys! It's a time saver which is exactly what we need with 4 kiddos! It has held up nicely so far. I would buy another one if needed. And it hold lots of toys. We had way too many but it held all of them! ;)

I love this for the swimming at the gym. After swimming and getting changed I used to carry out my bathing suit wrapped in the wet towels, rather than putting it in my bag nd soaking my bag and having to dry that out later too. Now I pop it all back in the bag without concern for it being difficult to dry out later. It's just practical as all get out, and not a big expense for what ends up being a big convenience.

OVERWHELMED! This mesh bag is very large and I use it to carry ALL my exercise needs or on my weekend trips. LADIES we tend to stuff our weekend bags with a lot things. The main pocket is large and have small pockets for your smaller articles. The mesh bag is very light weight and can be used as a extra shopping bag. This bag dries easily and the air flows through it. Over all its an excellent buy and I LOVE IT!
