Isn't it great the way manufacturers poison you with carcinogenic components such as Teflon on the silly excuse of selling you a cheaper non-stick pan? Now it's time to ban them from your kitchen! But to be honest, the alternative is not new, and has been around for ages. Cast iron, while requiring a bit of maintenance work, will last forever and can be seasoned to nearly-perfect non-stick properties. Your granny may know about iron pans quite a lot; go ask her!This griller sports a perfect design and is not expensive at all (it's £17 now). It comes pre-seasoned so it is non-stick right out of the box, but should you need to re-season it, all you have to do is pour a thin film of olive oil and let it burn for 2 minutes.

I was looking for a simple cast iron chargriller in the high street and it soon became clear that none matched all what I was looking for.They all fell down by offering features I did not want and at twice the price I had in mind.I specifically did not want wood, aluminium, nor an enamelled finish (which will chip) nor a Teflon coating (which wear out) nor a fixed handle.This Typhoon however had it all (or rather, had none of those weaknesses). Just cast iron, (nice and heavy retains heat for long time) folding strong metal handle so just 2 simple materials that are sturdy, take full-on cooking and if you follow simple care tips will develop its own seasoned character and will last a life time.

I bought this for using on my Weber charcoal BBQ. It's just the right size, leaving room on the grill to cook other things at the same time.The fold up handle is a bonus as it can be lifted out of the way to make room for other food on the grill, and useful for tucking out of the way when putting the Weber lid on. Just make sure to wear a heat proof glove.After cleaning, make sure the griddle pan is bone dry or thats when rust starts. I put mine back on the heat to dry off any water, then when cooled I give it a light brushing with cooking oil to keep rust away, brushing all over the griddle pan - top, sides and underneath.Good solid heavy cast iron pan, and the handle is extremely sturdy.

This is a wonderful grill pan. It is heavy, solid and therefore retains the heat when you throw a couple of steaks on it. When seasoned correctly food does not stick to it, and will leave lovely char marks. This is something I reckon I will own for years to come. I've now bought a couple as gifts for friends.

The quality of this griddle is very good indeed.stores easily due to folding handle but as I have trouble with lifting , I do find the griddle quite heavy to use. Of course; it is made of cast iron and therefore meant to be heavy just please be aware if you have any lifting issues

Sturdy heavy grill. Produces very juicy meat as the grid can get to very hot searing temperatures. You must look after this or it will go rusty - natural feature of cast iron - but simply apply a little oil after washing and completely drying and you wont have any problems

This is an absolutely rock solid piece. You can also use in the oven if you wish. It’s pure cast iron, before using the first time it’s highly recommended to treat the surface with any vegetable oil and make it polymerise.

Heavy duty quality pan that is perfect for char grilling anything especially large steaks.A pan that you can stick in the oven to finish things off.Sturdy handle makes it feels safe when handling this hot heavy pan.

It's perfect for grilling, or frying meat or chicken. Just a pity the handle is not detachable. Would make it easier to fit under the oven grill and to clean. But would highly recommend it. Great value for money.

This is a good heavy quality griddle pan - slightly too large for one hob, but straddles two. Easy to use and clean, with plenty of room for two steaks + some vegetables. Good value for money.

This is excellent value for money,Cooks great grills every time. does get a little hot, but no great problem.Should have had one years ago.

Very happy with them. Good weight and good quality. Work well on the gas BBQ where 2 can fit side by side.

Really useful size for our two burner BBQ - just right for two large steaks and a few sausages!

This unit will rust and its a nightmare to clean - be prepared for a good workout!
