I bought this 4 months ago, for my first son.During the first month, you have to fill it with less water, so that the baby's mouth won't come in contact with the water. Not an easy task, because they tend to slip from your arm while you are using your other arm/hand.During the second month, it becomes easier. They have more strength on their head and have grown a bit, and the "Tub" becomes the right size.During the third, it again becomes more difficult, because they start to play with the water, and their increasing size limits your movements inside the "Tub".Every time he enters the bath, he calms and relaxes. The few times he was crying before the bath, he stopped almost immediately. My wife tried to use it once, but she prefers to use a "standard" tub, that we bought just for her.I rate it 4 stars. It's still just a bucket and not THAT good to justify the price.Note:A few times he started crying AFTER coming out of the bath (that never takes longer than 5-7 minutes).Measuring the temperature, I realized that the little water that is used in the "Tub" (5 liters, maybe) cools down very quickly: from 37ºC to 36ºC in 5 minutes. I started to use the water a little warmer (a bit lower than 38ºC) and it never happened again, because his skin is warmer when he leaves the "Tub". In doubt, ask your doctor.Tip:I use an in-ear Braun thermometer to measure the temperature accurately. Just stir the water and put the tip in contact with it (Be careful! I had to disassemble one that slipped from my hand).

I purchased the Tummy Tub when my son was born 4 week premature. I was recommended it by a Nurse at the Special Care Baby Unit. YES to begin with i thought this was an overpriced expensive bucket, BUT it became a bucket of gold for my son. Requiring only very little water i could just pop my son inside and not have to hold him, contently sat next to him whilst he sat in this bucket he would sit in it for hours asleep! :D.My son suffered constipation for a while and i found this bucket was brilliant for helping with that, the knees being upright tucked into his chest would help my son.I then found this was a brilliant Tummy Tub as my son was colicky, with him sat upright, knees tucked in and plenty of hotish water helped him to pass plenty of wind. I would use it 3 times a day for 15 mins and just watch him burp away. It didn't require any tedious burping and fidgety holding of a baby.My son had a feeding tube when born and found bathing him in a normal bath a bit tedious, all the leaning over and holding him with one arm and holding a tube with the other.. I would tediously think to myself HHMMM how do i now wash him? With the Tummy Tub i could use one hand to wash and the other to hold the tube. He would always sit comfortably on his own.. I got the knack of it by making sure there was not TOO much water in the Tub and this gave me the requirements of hands free...

This product is amazing. It is so simple, but worth the price because it is just so much better than conventional baby baths. We used it with our daughter for about a year and are looking forward to using it when the second one arrives in a few months. There are some reviews that said it was difficult to use with a newborn. Our daughter had pretty good neck strength from birth, so we didn't find that to be as much of an issue, but I would advise to be extra cautious and to plan on using two people to bathe your newborn in it. The product is designed for single person use, but the piece of mind of having two people there (one to hold the baby, the other to wash) is worth it. Also, think about how the two of you are going to hold/wash your newborn in the tub BEFORE you put him or her in the water. That will help things go more smoothly the first time, and, before you know it, you will be experts at using it and may only need one person. However, we found we liked bath time, so the three of us kept taking part, even when it wasn't really necessary. Our daughter never cried in the bath, only when we took her out because she would have happily stayed in much longer! We also purchased the stool/stand that goes with it, and still use that today. I highly recommend getting that to save your back.

In reality this is just an overpriced transparent bucket! However it is highly reccomended, it is designed slightly more curvy than a traditional bucket and rounded edges for easy lifting. We got a pink one for our little angel, and she absolutely loved it - it allows your baby to sit chest deep in water and gives you two hands to wash them. The only problem is when she was very small or if you have a tiny baby (or large hands) is that it can be difficult to get both hands in to hold the baby support the head and wash them - especially if you have big hands like me - however Isuspect most wont have this problem.Once our angel begain to support her own head it solves all the niggles and bath time was so much more fun!As a dad, it really was an incentive to get stuck in and do my part knowing she loved the bath and once our angel could support her head was very safe - intially very weird seeing her all tucked up in the bucket, and it also helped her cholic and good for a soother or a quick dunk after a spoilt nappy. We got some very good use out of this although we stopped using it after she got older and was able to stand up, as we were afraid it might tip over. All in all an excellent product and well worth the money!

I bought this in pink for my twin girls after it was recommended to me by a friend. I am very keen on buying items which save me time and space, a must when you have twins! Plus it was likely I'd end up with a Caesarian and was conscious that I'd need to be able to bathe my twins comfortably without bending over the bath. The tub is quick to fill unlike a conventional bath, the water stays warmer for longer and so does baby as she is submerged to her shoulders, it's very portable even when filled to the water level indicated on the tub and they seem to really enjoy being in there. The bottom has rubber on it to prevent slips.I prefer to site the tub on our wooden kitchen chair as you need to be able to reach over and in it easily and I find the table too high (I'm 5'8''), I have also used the floor. I've taken some gorgeous photos of my girls in it including some of their feet pressed up against the side - cute! It does take a bit of getting used to as feels awkward to begin with and as another has suggested, it's a good idea to practice putting them in and getting them out a couple of times without water. We love it.

Arrive promptly.Bought this as had heard it may help relieve colic, and also baby (7 weeks old) loves bath times. Up to now I had predominantly been washing baby in large bathroom sink as a) easier b) less water required. The only downside to this was that bath times were so short. The tummy tub allows him to immerse himself in the water for longer periods of time...and uses minute amounts of water!! He took to it straight away and first time was smiling and splashing his arms about in it. I would say that the 'fill line' indicator should only be used as a guide. My little man soon slumped to the bottom of the tub and so was in danger of 'going under', but I removed a bit of water and he was fine, only needing a light hold under then chin from myself. Not sure re colic easing claims, but I know myself that warm water helps ease stomach pain so even if not a miracle cure, I'm sure he's appreciating it!!Being clear plastic also allows him to view his surroundings as he's not big enough to peer over the top yet (well, not without me yanking his chin into the air)!!

Had a common baby bath for my first baby but tried the tummy tub for my second baby. Have now used it three times and can only recommend it!! It's so much easier and stress free to bath a newborn baby in there than in an usual baby bath. I also noticed tat my 5 days old baby really liked it as he was soo happy in there, and started crying the moment I took him out!You do not have to worry so much about your baby sliding away simply du to the compact shape of the tub, and if the baby's neck/ head is on the edge there are no worries either as all is nicely rounded and safe. It's also easier to fill than a baby bath and I can still carry it full with water (no baby of course!)or empty it easily which I struggled with with the baby bath. And finally, it takes up so much less space in your house and it's better to store!!

Pros-Baby is kept warm during the whole of bath time as their body is covered in water.Easy to transport, manoeuvre and store.Soothes and relaxes baby.Doesn't use much water.Cons-Can take time to get the hang of holding your baby in the correct way, gets easier as baby's neck gets stronger. If you have a larger baby then baby may grow out of this bath pretty quick. We stopped using this bath when our son was 4 months old. This baby bath was such a fantastic find for us. We bathed our baby in this every day from newborn until he was too big for it and he never cried once. Once you have mastered the skill of holding your baby in the correct way it really does make bath time easy and enjoyable for both baby and you.I highly recommend this bath, every family expecting a new baby should have one!

I thought this looked like a gimmick,a very expensive bucket. Bath times with my new born were traumatic for weeks however, and I'd have tried anything. This was recommended by a friend and it worked like a dream! Bath times became our favourite part of the day and I wish I'd had a tummy tub from the start. I felt much more secure holding my son and he also seemed to feel safe and secure and would splash around happily. I'm upset that he's now getting a bit too big for it at five months, but we've used it almost every night and certainly got our money's worth. Can't recommend enough, five stars.

I had one of these when my daughter was born. She absolutely loved it, and so did we. It was so easy to use, took up so little space for storage, and very little water in comparison to other methods. In addition to bathing, we used it a couple of times when she was upset with colic. It soothed her immediately. I suspect it feels like being back in Mum's womb.It was so safe and easy to keep the baby's head up with one hand, while washing with the other one.Now that I'm pregnant again, but no longer have my original tummy tub, I will definitely be buying another for this baby.

This is amazing for our little daughter. We started using it when she was 2 months old.She can sit independently for little bit but mostly needing some kind of minimal support - holding hands of tummy so she wouldn't slide and drink the water:) Overall it's easier to keep her head above water than conventional bath I think. It was definitively helping with her colicky tummy pain.It is sturdy on the ground and non-sliperry.Material is pleasant and it's well built. The only small disadvantage that is really too small for toys.

I bought this for our new grandson. He did not enjoy having a bath, he did not like being naked, and he also suffers from terrible colic. I read previous reports and it sounded just the thing - and it is !! When immersed the baby goes into the foetal position which helps his little tummy and as the water comes up around him it obviously makes him feel safe - like being in the womb, I guess. The 'tub' is very sturdy and I am sure it will be useful for other things after the baby has outgrown it. I thoroughly recommend it.

As soon as my little boys cord came off I used this bath. Not the easiest to use with a slippery floppy baby getting him in and out and supporting his head but you soon get the hang of it. He loves being fully immersed in warm water which is hard with a normally baby bath. By week 3 when colic can often set in we found that as soon as he went in a couple of burps would immediately come up. He seems very relaxed and serene in it at week four so look forward to him holding his head up and im sure he'll enjoy it even more.

We tried a traditional baby bath - back aching. Put the baby in the kitchen sink - annoying. Got in the bath with the baby - lovely, but lukewarm. The Tummy Tub is genius. You use comparatively little water (to the line on the side), it is easy to pick up and pour out without sloshing everywhere. The baby just sits in warm water up to the chin, and the parent/bather holds him or her gently under the jaw as the baby gently wallows. Most of all, our little guy loved it. He grew out of it at 6 months, but money well spent.

Found it really quick to fill and the water stayed warm which is what i needed. It takes less than a minute to fill up. I also like that its see through, so you can see how comfortable they are sitting in the tub. There is a guide line that suggests how deep you should fill it, but filled it less than that. So far so good, she's really calm when in the tub and seems to enjoy it. Think the idea is that shes meant to feel like she is in the womb. I would be comfortable recommending this to anyone!
