Only played a few times so far with this expansion, but the tiles add some fun new elements to the game that enhance it, but do not overcomplicate it as some game expansions tend to do.Did stumble over a couple of issues with the rules, as they do not cover some issues that can come up. For example we had an instance of one player having 2 cannons in their hand, then drawing the magic portal, which sent them to a square with no wake tile, which meant they had nothing they could play in that slot. We also found that if you shuffle the Tsunami into the Daikaiju deck and it comes out during setup that everyone just lines up their start positions on the safe side of it effectively negating thetsunami for that game. Both issues were easily solved however by making house rules of no more than 2 special tiles in hand at one time, and shuffling the Tsunami into the Daikaiju deck after setup.Overall a very worthwhile expansion to the base game for anyone that enjoys Tsuro of the Seas and wants to add some new elements.

This is the third evolution of the Tsuro game. Each new version has increased the complexity, depth, and beauty of the game. In this third installment, you and your friends are working to restore the stars to the sky with your trusty phoenix companions. The first player to restore seven stars wins! Beware though, just like Tsuro and Tsuro of the seas you may find yourself flying off the edge of the board game to your demise. It's not that bad though, as a Phoenix you get one chance to rise from the ashes and resume your quest. This is the first Tsuro game where you get to flip the tiles and rather than the typical two paths per side there are paths on the corners, which give you 12 possible places to enter and exit a tile. You may also find yourself stalled before a tile that doesn't have a path on your entry point, so you will get to flip it next turn.Fly past the lanterns to make them into stars and collect the stars to win! It's high time you play this game.

I simply love this game. The board and tiles are exceptionally well made. The rules are clear and the illustrations in the rule book help a lot. I also added the expansion pack (Veterans of the Seas) from the beginning and this gives the game added drama, dimensions and options to think about. I play this game with my son or solo (my own rules).I enjoy regular Tsuro too. However, whereas Tsuro can be more of a relaxed, spiritual affair, this version of Tsuro is full-on excitment with the addition of roaming sea monsters attacking your ships (and a tsunami, a whirlpool, a magical transporting vortex portal, and 5 cannons for your ships in the expansion pack which is sold separately). If you like tile-laying games, I advise you to consider Tsuro of the Seas as an addition to your collection. The YouTube playthroughs convinced me and then I ordered the game through Amazon.

While some games try to maximise their popularity by producing a myriad of expansions that overwhelm the original game this expansion is just right. I was worried that it would put in too much to overclutter a board that, if you're unlucky, can be full of daikaiju but it doesn't. The two tiles that can be added to the board (whirlpool and mystic portal) add different aspects without breaking the game while the tsunami cleverly adds another twist to keep players on their toes. The final additions, the cannons, give players a potential lifesaver which, if you're lucky enough to have one, can help you escape elimination from the daikaiju.Makes an excellent game even better without radically changing the gameplay.

Nice little game - I had already played the earlier version and loved it - this version with extra rules and elements is just as enjoyable. If you want to play the simpler version you can still do it with this version but there are more ways to play this- so an improvement on the original version of the game. Personally I would choose to buy this version over the original Tsuro game, although I do still like the pebble player pieces from the original game.Note that the Cannons tiles and whirlpool come in a separate add-on pack that you have to purchase separately.

Really fun and well though out expansion, which we have mixed and matched so not always using all of the tile additions that have different actions on what happens on the board.Note, that it's a small pack and very few bits in the box so check the size if it's a present and you want Quantity over Quality.Makes the 2-player version worth getting out more often, as it can become a bit dull but now there is so much more jeopardy

This is a follow-up to the hugely popular Tsuro, it adds sea monsters which move around the board randomly via a very specific game mechanic. However while I did eventually succeed in understanding how the monster cards are meant to move once activated, I must admit the the rules were not particularly clear on the subject. Still once you get it, it's a lovely game and a welcome variation to the classic Tsuro which I also own.

We had enjoyed playing the original version of Tsuro at our local game cafe so when I was looking for a new game to keep us entertained during lockdown I thought we’d give this a try. You can still play the original version using this one but the addition of the daikaiju tiles make it more interesting. It’s easy to setup, quick to learn and typically takes 25-30 mins to play with three players. Highly recommended.

Awesome game! Can be played without the Monsters if you want a regular Tsuro game, but the monster effect is very fun. The board, tiles and pieces are all very sturdy and beautifully made and would stand up well to being handled by youngsters. The game is fast paced and the rules are easy to learn (watch Will Wheaton & co on YouTube to see the rules in play) so even reluctant players will get the hand of it.

Arrived in the time that was stated. Fab little game. Played the normalVersion loads as my brother has it but this puts a very intense rating twist on it. We thought it was a bit of a faf to start with but once you get into it it's a very good concept. We've just decided no movement of dragons on turn one to help this.

This is a very enjoyable, quick game. When you are out it does not take long before the game ends for you to be involved in the next game. You can adjust how you play this game to make this work just like the Tsuro Game of the Path - so save yourself money by just buying this game!

I can not tell you how infuriating some of my friends are who fuss over learning game rules. Tsuro is amazingly simple to learn and for a simple game isn't over in 5 minutes. Well designed and worth it. I wish I could love my friends as much as I love this game it's brilliant!

Game that even the olds can manage. Can use strategy to beat them. They thought even more fun when we were knocked out. Simple to understand so can play quickly from opening box. If you've ever played battleships this is nothing like. Monsters very sneaky.

Fantastic little game, which is really simple to play and is a great starter game for new comers to board games beyond monopoly and also as a filler game. The Kaiju add a nice additional element in this version of Tsuro, and the bigger board is good too.

Non competitive game which is interesting & has beautiful graphics. Aim is to stay on the board for as long as possible & plan yr journey by placing tiles each go that avoid whirlpools & serpents on each throw of the dice. Played with 8 of us from 10-70.
