Despite the Trust website being a tad ambiguous about the iMAC compatibility I decided to take the plunge rather than line Apples pockets for their own recommended hubs. It worked immediately, straight from the box and now I have 5 'always on' connections including my Time Machine drive, Sennheiser headset, Black Widow joystick, and mini-usb and lightning cables. All this with 5 spare ports facing me ready for the more ad-hoc connections I need from time to time. No more pulling the iMac out to swap things around. Trust really should be making more of this general Mac compatibility in my view. The hub is about the length and width of an iPhone 4 and twice as deep and sits beautifully under the iMac in silver and black (matching the iMac aesthetic brilliantly),with a single blue light indicating the power is on. It's been here an hour so I assume leaving it on at the mains will not be an issue. It's certainly running cool after an hour. It's simple to setup, took less than 2 minutes by simply plugging to the mains, and then connecting to a USB port on the iMac rear. In typical Apple style the iMac didn't even acknowledge a new device but simply worked immediately. Just downloaded and installed new maps etc to my TomTom and it took no time at all through this hub, so it looks like it doesn't have any performance issues in terms of data speeds in comparison to a direct connection to the iMac.One small criticism costing it a star - the packaging. Vacuum sealed to the point of being inaccessible. There really is no need in this day and age as Apple, Samsung and Amazon Kindle have shown.

After a year of trying hub after hub and beginning to believe hubs as a whole were a bust I hit on this one. Suddenly every problem I had before vanished. From the second I attached this device it has proved how solid and reliable it is. Power is evenly distributed to all the devices attached - and I have run it with four HDDs, four sticks, a printer and a scanner - and no hiccups.Previous hubs kept dropping connections or causing file write errors to the external HDDs. This one is so secure I keep forgetting it is there. One month and not a single error or lost connection - despite 24 hour operation. The leads are about a metre long (a miracle in itself compared to most hubs)and the USB connections are nice and tight.I particularly appreciate the impression of stability its weight brings, and the rubber feet. Some plastic hubs are so light the spring in the cable flings them all over the place. This one sits where you put it, and does not fall over when all the plugs are in.The blue light is not obtrusive in an office environment, although light leaks into the ports nearest it rather unevenly - NOT a problem! The power brick is mercifully small and light enough to carry in a laptop bag if necessary.I recommend this through experience - the best hub I have seen at any price (and the we liked it so much the whole office is being fitted with them.)Five stars, thoroughly deserved.

I have a laptop with three USB sockets on it. Into those three sockets I needed to plug an external keyboard, a pen tablet, a printer, an external dvd writer, a tv stick, a flylight, an mp3 player, a camera, a joystick, a steering wheel, a palm pda, memory card reader ... okay, so not all at once, but certainly more than three at a time.Anyway, it does what it's supposed to, that is, it increases the number of devices I can plug in at any one time. But it has had an unanticipated side effect. My laptop was prone to crashing a lot. And I mean a lot. I think I put that down in some way to always yanking some cable and sticking in another and taking the laptop away, pulling them all out etc.The laptop makes a little beep when it senses activity on the ports. It would beep away for ages for no apparent reason. But since I've got this thing and pull them all out in one go - and put them all back in one go, it has become much more stable. In fact I haven't needed to restart it for two weeks now.I know that is not the intended purpose, but for me at least, I am a lot less angry at Windows than I was!

OUT OF THE BOX IT LOOKS SO SMALL AND FRAGILE, HOWEVER, ON CLOSER INSPECTION IT IS FAIRLY ROBUST. FROM PLUG-IN TO FULLY OPERATIONAL WITH WINDOWS XP TOOK 2 MINUTES AND I USE 8 PORTS AND EVERYTHING WORKS JUST FINE.... CANNOT FAULT IT AT ALL... EXCEPT.. THE MAINS LEAD IS WELL FLIMSY AND THIS IS THE WEAKEST LINK.. IT'S BEING USED ON A MOBILE PC TROLLEY AND I DON'T EXPECT THE CABLE TO LAST TOO LONG.. EVEN WITH THE EXTRA PROTECTION WE HAVE SUPPLIED AROUND IT... HOWEVER... TIME WILL TELL.. FOR A 10 PORT UNIT, SLIM AND FOR DOMESTIC OR OFFICE USE, IT IS JUST THE JOB...19.08.2013...Well now, thought i should add a bit more.. lead has held up very well considering it's fairly frail..unit still packs a punch..no problems in nearly 9 months of hard use...05.09.2015latest update, cable still operational, early fears of snapping came to nothing, upgrade time though, moving onto usb3 soon and this little box has soldiered on for 3 years... alas.. progress has passed it by...

Having recently moved, I am currently limited to using an Acer Aspire One netbook. I needed something to connect my external drives to this machine, and only three ports on the netbook is fine usually, but not when I am using it as a desktop workstation! The Trust 10 port USB hub does a great job. I realized I needed something that was mains powered, and this product was not purchased for mobile use. I will eventually be using it on my new desktop machine when I purchase that.I am running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.10 on the netbook, and I have had no connectivity issues whatsoever, so far.I've connected external DVD, cellphones, wireless mice, DSLR, Plantronics USB audio, and BlacX Hard Drive docks to it,and they all run without any fuss or further set up.I can wholeheartedly recommend this product for anyone running Ubuntu.

The hub price is great and it worked right out of the box. Took an extra moment, and unplugging then plugging back in, for my external keyboard to get recognised. Not happy about the hard-to-get-into and very sharp blister pack, really wish these things would come in simple recycled cardboard boxes instead. Have scissors at the ready.I use this in my bedroom, and the blue LED is far too bright. A common issue with peripherals and quite annoying as it is bright enough to work like a night light. I'll get the Sharpie out. The ports are also lit though, and I'll probably need to wrap it in a sock or something. A single dim amber LED would work better, but probably doesn't look as "cool" for the kids.Would buy again as there's really nothing else on the market at the same price / features level.

For over six months I had been experiencing periodic disconnects from a couple of 7-port Belkin USB hubs. Re-establishing connection meant pulling out all the USB terminals and replacing them one by one as the system recognised each piece of hardware.I've been using this Trust 10-port for just over a month and so far I have not experienced any such problems. The hub is mains powered, a blue light indicates a live connection. The kit is about the size of a small mobile phone but about 1½ times as thick. It's very light so I've attached it to the side of my desktop with a couple of Velcro 'dots' for easy access.Overall it does what it's supposed to and I'm very happy with that.Trust 10 Port Usb2.0 Power Hub

Needed a large Powered Hub for use with my Apple Mac iMac G5 but couldn't find a product 'guaranteed' to work with one. All specs indicated 'Windows' approval, but not Mac OSX.I contacted Trust for their advice, and was told it would 'probably' work with the Mac, but it hadn't been tested with one, so they couldn't guarantee it! Anyway,I bought one, and just plugged it in. All works brilliantly. Everything was detected by the system on start up, runs very cool, neat and tidy, does not 'slide around'.Power indicator is a pleasant blue led, not too bright. The black/silver trim looks very smart.Well made and designed product, excellent with my Mac.

This product was slightly smaller than I expected it to be. Despite its small size the USB ports aren't placed too closely together and I can still plug in my FlashDisk without removing any cables. The build-quality is ok, but it is nothing special and looks slightly cheap when connected to my Apple Mac. Also, the mini-hub doesn't feel particularly well-made when inserting and removing USB cables - they don't fit quite as smoothly as I'd like (again in comparison to my iBook). This is a minor criticism as it functions perfectly and the design is smart and inobtrusive.

A good 10 port hub with mains and connection to computer on one long side together with three USB ports, opposite side there are five ports, and finally two to be found on on short end of the hub.Whilst it doesn't take up much room upon the desktop, I've affixed it to the wall, with double sided pads.Never believe that ten ports are too many, as you will find that the number is just right, with the ever increasing amount of equipment that connect via USB.Rating 5/5 for good reason, in fact I will be purchasing another for my other network.

This works almost perfectly for me iv noticed others saying it repeatedly reloads drivers n fails to recognise devices i havent found any of these issues n i hav alot of things plugged into it. The only thing i did notice is that i hav to disconnect it at startups as it makes them freeze for some reason havent found a fix for this yet but will continue to look. Thats the only reason i gave it 4star instead of 5. Im running 32bit vista on a dell laptop. id still recomend it tho cause its a good price n has solved my lack of usbs

The only trouble you will have is finding the best place to locate it. It's not wall mountable, and I used Double Sided tape to hold it down on my desk.I got 2 base Units and now all I have to do is unplug the USB lead from the Base unit and plug into the other. I got Keyboard, Mouse, Webcam, Modem, and Printer. That's only 5 things so I still got another 5 to go. A nice Blue light on the top to see when she's on. I can recommend it **** stars.Using it on Win7 64 bit extreme and Windows XP Both just picks it up..Plug & Play.

Bought this to work with my Raspberry Pi (RPi).The unit supplies enough power to run the RPi as well as other items like the nano usb wifi adapter and the mouse and keyboard without any trouble. Doing it this way means I need only power lead to the RPi setup now.I like the ports being on different sides as this eases the usual problems of cable management I'd be having if they were all on one side and allows me to hide everything into a simple case without worries. If you're another RPi user, this is a good choice!

This did exactly what i needed it to, was easy to install and started working straight away. I've had it now for about 4 months and it has been the cheapest but most useful thing I've purchased this year.I use 2 ports on it constantly, and occasionally a third, although it is a bit of a squeeze using the fourth but it can be done with a bit of jiggling, but i guess that depends on the item you are plugging in. Recommended.

My new small form PC came with only 2 USB-3 and 2 USB-2 ports. With what is attached via USB this was never going to be sufficient. Plugged this into one of the USB-2s and hey presto, mouse, keyboard, and printer were all able to be attached and easily accessed by using the hub. I still have expansion disks etc plugged into it and as these are not transmitting all the time there is little degradation of transfer speed.
