My owners bought me this scratching post after I had thoroughly enjoyed destroying my previous post. I must say that I am definitely the kitten who got the cream, what an excellent present! I will be rewarding my humans with lots of cuddles and kisses for doing such a good job. Initially I was somewhat pessimistic when they set about the task of replacing my scratching post as how can they possibly understand the complexities which make a good scratching post, however in this product, I know they have found gold! It is a most enjoyable post to scratch at furiously & sharpen my claws so as to keep the humans in their place & there are no better places to take my numerous daily cat naps than on top of the 2 soft platforms or inside the base of the scratching post.I plan on spending many an hour not only scratching but also climbing and perching, watching the world go by.The platforms are at a perfect height and allow me to survey my whole domain easily and it is very aesthetically pleasing and easy on the eye. Another positive is that it only took my humans around 5 minutes to put together and was easy, even for them!I have however found one problem with the design and would warn any of my fellow felines to beware the ball of the doom. Not long after I had been given the gift I was innocently playing and minding my own business when before I knew it I was like that human Miley Cyrus in that Wrecking Ball video. Somehow the ball came at me out of nowhere and wrapped itself around my paw, trapping me in a very awkward and painful position. After shouting for help like any kitten would, my humans were slow to react and so I took matters into my own claws and managed to free myself by disconnected the ball from the post. I must say it left me somewhat traumatised and hesitant to go near the post again, however the lure of the post was too much and I was playing happily again within mere human hours. Just be warned humans that when my fellow feline is playing that you must be cautious and watch out for this as I dread to think what would have happened if I wasn't so resourceful. All in all, I am very pleased with my new scratching post and would recommend to any of my fellow felines.Regards,Tilly (kitten aged 4 months)

We recently purchased the Valencia Cat Tree Scratcher in grey, and as soon as it was up our cat was all over it. She absolutely loves it, and it looks about as nice as a cat tree scratcher can look. It's well made, and I am really pleased that I bought it, but there are a couple of things to watch out for. Our cat is small so she can get into the box at the bottom and can curl up on the platforms, but if she was a big cat this would all be too small for her. Also, before buying it, I remember reading a review from someone about how their kitten got the elastic from the hanging ball wrapped around their paw and couldn't get it off.I'm so pleased that we read this as we specifically kept an eye on it - and within 15 minutes exactly the same thing happened to our cat and I dread to think what would have happened if we weren't there to get it off. It was such a shame as she loved playing with the ball - but we had to cut it off the scratcher to make it safe for when we're not around.

Not the best, you'll get an alarming amount of fluff flaking off this thing once you set it up. It's easy enough to put together, not that many parts. Mostly just twisting one thing onto another. Once it's set up and done shedding it's pretty stable as long as it's on a flat surface. Even if not the base is wide enough that you needn't worry. Just make sure to check it's all screwed in tight once a month and you'll have to hoover around as the scratchpole will lose fibers the more it's attacked (it's plenty durable though). If your cat doesn't use the scratching pole put some catnip in your hands, put it under the cats nose then lead it to the pole, rub the nip on the pole (not your nip,not the cat's nip, the catnip!!) and your cat should start using it. Some cats wont, even with that trick. Some cats are just born full of hatred for couches, consider electrifying your couch.

I bought this little tree for two 6.5 week old kittens! It has been a godsend. They’ve loved it, playing up and around it. It makes for a nice cool place to sleep during the summer and a great place to wrestle. It should be known that the little ball did lose its carpeting and eventually fell off- but that was several weeks of intense play. It doesn’t bother me- I simply removed it. :) It’s an excellent first tree for kittens. My 14 year old cat, Hunter Dean, also likes this little tree. He has yet to knock it over, sitting at 13 lbs. I do have two large cat trees for him as well. Once the twins outgrow this tree, it will be used as a perch beside my aquarium for their viewing pleasure as it’s the perfect height! When it wears out I will very likely purchase it again. :) ?

My cat really seems to like this cat tree. He doesn't use the bottom area much; the square part is a bit small for a cat of his size (my only complaint about this product). He does use it occasionally, but be aware that a really large cat is not going to fit comfortably in that little box! He prefers to hang out on the top perch. He uses the toy and the scratching areas religiously, and they have held up so far. He's a polydactyl with more claws than your average cat, so that is saying something about the quality of the material! I chose this particular cat tree because it would give my cat something to scratch (other than my rugs) and would not take up a huge amount of space. It has worked well, and I would purchase this product again and recommend it to others.

Arrived today and so far may cats love it, within minutes of it being assembled they were playing with the ball and climbing all over it. They've even been in the den underneath, however, my cats are pretty big so it was a tight squeeze! There has been LOTS of playing with the ball but after reading some of the other reviews I'll definitely be keeping an eye on that. The platforms are pretty small for my cats, I can't imagine them doing much sleeping on it. It seems pretty sturdy, both cats can get on it at the same time and seem pretty happy. Assembly was really easy, everything you need is in the box.I didn't get any instructions but you can work it out by looking at a picture.I decided on this tree as I already have the

My cat adores her new cat tree, and loves going inside and playing with the ball. The ball actually makes a rattle sound when wacked since its filled with something which is nice, the only thing I'm afraid of is her biting the string off but that's just her not a faulty of the product. It is sturdy and was easy to put together. The only con I can say is it came damaged, the scratching post has prickly stuff on it when touched by a human it could hurt, and there was a lot of filth on it but can easily be vacuumed off, I dont know if I didnt vacuum all the dirt off it, as the pictures are taken the day after I got it but may be a dust attractor? So probably need to vacuum it daily.Even so it's still usable and she loves it!

I purchased this as a "step ladder" to the bigger cat tree for my kitten. It's nice and steady and has held up really well under constant use. The kitten loves it and, as he's grown up, it's become part of his daily running-fit pattern. Even though he doesn't need it as a step ladder to the bigger tree anymore, he still uses it as a perch to look out the window or to pounce at imaginary prey from. At 9 pounds, he can still squeeze into the hiding box without a problem (although I honestly don't know how). Oddly enough, my older cat has taken to using it for a step ladder to the big tree, or to simply get up to the window without aggravating her joints. So,it's an all-around great purchase for old and young cats.

I just received and assembled the cat tree. Fortunately the assembly is very simple since there were no instructions included. My kitten, Chloe loved it instantly. One caution though. I heard her crying suddenly and found her the string from which the ball toy is suspended had wrapped around her paw and she was struggling to get loose. I am grateful that I was there to free her before any injury occured and wondered if it might be long enough to wrap around the neck of a smaller kitten. I tied knots in it and tied another toy in the string to shorten it. I think it is important to call attention to that danger. Once that situation is resolved it is a wonderful toy and an excellent value.

+ Kitten loves it and the sofa is no longer taking a beating from scratches.+ Well made in parts, seems pretty durable.- Some staples hanging out of the fabric on the corners, not something you really wanna see. Shoddy.- The hanging ball is dangerous and our kitten was stuck and found hanging from it after only 5 minutes of it coming out of the box. I would recommend cutting the ball off and having it as a separate play toy.Despite it looking great and our cat loving it, the way the product was finished is shocking considering its aimed towards pets. It would be like having a nail stuck out of a kid's toy or something.Edit: Still going strong after 4/5 years

It was easy to assemble, is quite sturdy & our cat gets hours of enjoyment either scratching on it, playing with the toy on a stretchy string &/or lying/sleeping on the top tier or in the cat "box" at the bottom.I bought this scratching post as it looked to be a good sturdy one for our cat to use, instead of the carpets or the furniture, & so far it has worked a charm. Also it was not that expensive & arrived a couple of days before the estimated delivery date.I would recommend this product to anyone with a cat who is using the carpets/furniture to scratch at, as with a little encouragement any cat/kitten can get used to it quickly.A very good buy indeed!!

Our cat absolutely loves this. It isn't as big as it looks in the picture (see the customer posted picture as this is a really good representation of size).Be aware - this does come in pieces so you will need to assemble!! But, an alum key and 15 minutes (tops) will have it ready to go. Our cat has scratched one of the posts to shreds, but it was an easy job to just switch the two posts around and hasn't made any massive difference. It's quite easy to clean as well. After a while it does catch a bit of cat hair, but a damp cloth or vacuum will easily sort. It doesn't take up much space and allows the cat to see out of the window. Does the job perfectly!!

For the first time I have an indoor cat - who was loving the leather furniture! So I looked at numerous scratch posts and came across this one. It appeared to be very good value for money so was sceptical when I ordered it. It arrived promptly and took 5-10 minutes for me to assemble with the screws and Allen key provided. It looks nice, fits in with my decor, is quite large but more importantly; my kitten likes it. She loves the dangling toy, sits and sleeps on the top platform, hurls herself at it when playful and scratches it daily. She has slept in the base a few times. It has restored my faith- you can still get good quality items for a decent price.

The box came pretty damage but thankfully the tower didn't ?. My kitty is in surgery and I want her to come home to something nice for her. I love it. It's her first tower. So far shes really mellow but she's also only 9 weeks so I don't know if she has a crazy play cat side hiding in her yet. The tower is pretty sturdy, you just have to assemble it tightly. I suck at putting things together so its usually my husband's job but I put this together in about 10 minutes pretty easily and I bet you can put it together quicker than that. I actually really recommend this. Pet co and Pet Smart can get really pricey and this is a good bang for your buck.

At first, I was a little hesitant on this cat tree, because a couple of my cats are a bit chubby and I was worried they wouldn't fit into the hidey-hole at the bottom. To my surprise, both of my fatty cats can fit in there. The one that likes to sleep in there the most is my fattest cat (who is 15 lbs).My only complaint is that the materials used for it are a bit flimsy. After a while of my cats jumping onto the platforms, they start to come unscrewed and I have to tighten them back up from time to time. Also, the little hanging fluff ball fell off after about a week of having the cat tree (which isn't really a big deal and I expected as much).
