I bought this as I find it difficult extracting my cats from a front opening carrier once at the vets. They tend to do a starfish manoeuvre and even tipping up the front opening carrier does not seem to make any difference. Its usually a 2 man job with the vet holding the carrier and me pulling out the cat! This top opening carrier is perfect. Just pop puss into it before he notices what you are doing and shut the lid. When you get to the vet and he has easy access to treat your cat inside the box if necessary or you can easily pick him out as there is nowhere to hide. I wasn't keen on the carrying strap as it slips, but the top handle works fine. It's quite enclosed which makes my cat feel safe, especially when there are dogs in the same waiting room. Maybe not ideal if your cat is very large and heavy but my 4.2kg cat was fine in it.

This product is good value for money and is fine if you just want a no thrills carry box. The hinges are a little flimsy, so just be careful clipping them into place when it arrives. Once all clipped into place you shouldn't have any trouble though. The small is a good size for a small to medium sized cat, and there is plenty of head room for a cat to sit up. For larger cats it would be a bit of a squeeze though, and you would probably want to go for a larger size. There isn't any way for the animal to see out other than through the ventilation slots. This could have its advantages if you're transporting a nervous pet. The fact that it opens from the top is another plus point as it makes getting cats in much more easy that trying to force them through the front. All in all good value for money.

.... for cats who are impossible to get into the usual front-opening carriers. Should have bought one sooner as it's cost me a fair bit extra in petrol money for my cat's regular vet appointments by having to go and borrow their top-opening carrier first, bring it back, load cat into it and back off to the vets .... what a palaver!! Only put off buying my own top-opening metal carrier similar to the vets one (also sold on amazon) because of the cost....I've already wasted money on a good quality and not cheap front opening carrier that the cat will not go in no matter how much forcing I did! This plastic one does the job ... just drop unsuspecting cat straight into it ...less stress for the cat (and for me!)and is half the price of a metal one - Perfect!!

I purchased this to transport my British Shorthair kittens home from the breeder and for any future trips to vets etc. I was very pleased with the ease of getting them in and it kept them safely contained. Initial assembly was very easy.If there's one concern its that I wish it were a bit bigger. I brought my kittens home individually (they were different ages and not ready to go together) and it was roomy enough, but I'm not sure it will be comfy for them as adults, especially if they need to be in it for more than 20 minutes or so. That said, British Shorthairs are typically large cats, so if you have a more average-sized moggy then this will probably be just fine.

Perfect for carrying our medium-to-small cats (x4 between 3.5 and 5kg), who don't like front-loaders.It came with clips needing to be attached, but easily done, likewise the carry handle and the strap. Instructions pretty easy to follow if you need any diagrammatic help.We prefer the top-loading carriers as they're easier to manage getting ready for, and at, the vets when 'encouraging' the starfishing cats into them for travelling. It's good to have the choice of carry handle or strap. Lid clips seem sturdy enough.I'm pleased with the choice. In addition, delivery was prompt.

Purchased for a medium sized rabbit due to top load which makes life better for rabbitswhen been transported and taken out for visits to a vet etc. A good amount of space is givenfor a rabbit in this pet carrier which is important as it ensures the animal is not boxed in to much whichcould make some rabbits panic if they feel enclosed in an unfamiliar area not big enough . The carrier is alsosturdy and well priced. Just one point. If you have a dwarf rabbit it may be a little to big so look for a carrier that is a little smaller for a dwarf breed.

This is so much easier to use with having the flip top. It's much simpler to lift the cat into the box rather than having to push it in to an end door when the cat is resisting. The only down side is that the strap is inclined to slip off the box and could do with a way of securing it. I have small cats and I don't think it would be suitable for large ones as it's quite dinky. For me it's perfect as it's size make it very manoeuvrable and fits easily onto the front seat of the car.

I bought this to transport bunnies, as all the other ones I found were not high enough in my opinion. Great for transporting two mini lop bunnies around, easy to clean, light weight and nice colours. My only concern are the clips to close, they feel a bit flimsy but no problems so far. Just incase though we all are careful when locking and opening the case but this is only because of other reviewers mentioning it. Have had this product two months now and everything is fine still.

If anyone is fighting with their cat to get it into the cat box, try one of these. I've been bitten, scratched and worn out trying to chase the cat to get her into the original cat box with the small side entrance she then splays her feet and still won't go in. With this I had absolutely no trouble as the top is so big and she didn't even try to get out, when I picked her up from the cattery even they were impressed at how easily she went in, really pleased I purchased this.

Wonderful box, been wanting a top opening box to collect my new bunnies. This fit them both in, they are only 10 weeks old, but they were both snuggled together with plenty of room around them to stretch out. I think the box is great, will be perfect to take them safely to the vets together soon. Once they are fully grown they might need to travel separately or I'll get an even bigger box. But this is a great size, top opening secure carrier.

I bought this as I have 2 cats I need to transport together and thought a shoulder strap would make it easier. Was really surprised how easy it was to put together and it works brilliantly. If you've ever had to carry a conventional carrier its very unwieldy, and carrying two was virtually impossible. But its now so much easier to transport one of my cats that I'm thinking of buying another but a larger version ... will my shoulders survive!

Bought this for my new Ragdoll kitten and used it today to take him to be registered at the vet. It was great with the top lid..just popped him in with no fuss and I was able to open it at the vet and put my hand in to comfort him whilst in the waiting room. It was easy to put together as I managed it myself and easy to carry. Good buy for me and I would recommend it.

We have quite a lively cat who has almost broken out of two boxes with the wire doors, almost strangling himself on one attempt. This box completely solved the problem. One minor issue is that the strap comes loose occasionally, but some webbing clips take care of that. This is the only type of box we'll use going forward.

This was despatched quickly, though arrived in a box which was significantly larger than required. This is sturdy enough to hold a largeish demonic feline and stood up to the attack well. It works well for cats which really do not want to go into their carrier. I have only used it once so far, but am very pleased.

So, so much more user friendly than traditional "front loading" pet carriers. This has made taking my rescue cat to the vets much much easier. He often poos in the box while travelling. I always line it with one if his towels to help it seem less worrying for him. Cleans up easily due to solid plastic floor.
