I was looking for a seat belt so my growing Maine Coon wouldn't have to sit in a box while travelling short distances.This seemed to be what I was looking for and he sits quietly on the seat while I'm driving now, able to watch what is going on around him.I do keep the lead quite short so he's forced to sit down which means he doesn't get to look out of the car too much.My only two concerns about this seat belt is that it is the width of a seat belt which makes it chunkier on him than a normal harness which he doesn't seem to find comfortable, and also because it's plugged only into the seatbelt clasp there would be no "give" if the car were to stop suddenly like the top of our seat belts.

Update. So my cat is 8 month now and this is perfect. She can easily fall asleep in it and it doesn't bother her at all. She just chill in the car and being safe at the same time.Review from June below:I love it. My dog also have one and it's great. At the moment the kitty is wearing the overhead soft mesh harness but once she is bigger she ll be wearing the full red one. It fits, but the stripes are little bit too long and I think might feel slightly too heavy for 3months old kitty. However the seatbelt clip is detachable and is perfect. I keep it shorter when she is on the front seat so she won't lean forward and she loves the heated seat.

I had a 'lead' to connect her harness to the safety belt, but it was very heavy. The harness with this set is much better than the one I had, and is much more secure. The 'lead' is supposed to be a standard fit, but does not fit my Hyundai, but I have managed to use the existing lead I had to the new one, till the sewing machine comes out and I can change the clip. Despite this set back I am happy with the quality of this harness and lead. And Tia loves being able to sit and look out of the window/lay down/ stretch on the car seat next to me.

I am so happy to have found this fantastic item my cat absolutely hates to be confined in her cat carrier, and in the car, she is constantly crying and trying to claw her way out. Sometimes she succeeds and therefore loose in the car, though she does then lie down on the passenger seat and although not happy to be in the car she is at least calmer in not being confined. Now I can have her sitting beside me knowing that she is safe and I haven't got the worry of her being loose in the car. Smiles all round......... WONDERFUL.............

We had first not stressful journey with our cat. I was surprised but cat was not trying to take harness off. We let her wear it for a 10 min while playing with her day before at home and fed her treats after we took it off. We also let her explore car with harness on after we arrived to our destination and again gave her treats to make experience better. Product seems be well made. Price is great. They only thing is that leash could be a bit longer if one wants cat be able to sit on your laps. She managed but was a bit awkward.

Great product. I brought it for my kitten so we could take her to my parent's for the weekend after a very stressful trip in a cat carrier. It allowed her to curl up in her bed and just go to sleep instead of her crying and clawing at the door. She's 4 months old and I would say that she is the smallest possible size for the harness as we had it as tight as it could go. She wasn't bothered by it and the padded chest part was sturdy and made us feel very comfortable about her if we needed to suddenly stop.

This is one of the coolest things I have ever bought for my cats, They travelled over an hour in the car with no journey sickness accidents. They escaped at first but I just tightened the harness and threatened them with the carrier and the rest of the journey went smoothly. My cats are large 5.6kg and 4.5kgI was not sure this was going to work but one of my cats really suffers when she is in the carrier so thought it was worth a shot for the money, and it turned out to be a great journey.

The item is very well made, and I thought it would be the perfect solution as Arthur gets so very upset when in the cat box en-route to vets, I thought I had tightened it enough on him, but as we got to the car he managed to wriggle out of it, and I have never seen him move so fast back down the drive. He ended up in his cat box again, poor thing. Trouble is when he sees the car he gets so worried that he is being taken back to the cat rescue centre where he was so very unhappy.

I would definately recommend this product. My cat hates going in her box when travelling, she's scratch whatever she can reach while you're putting her in there and cries until she's too tired to continue. She's normally an incredibly calm and friendly cat so I've always found putting her through it distressful. She doesn't love having the harness put on but she doesn't struggle nearly as much, and then once she's in the car she's fine. Would definately recommend it!

I had to order this to be sent to my London friend, then have her mail it onto me in the states. After my cat escaped from her "escape-proof" harness, and I ordered two more that I returned instantly, my London friend recommended this one which she uses for her cat. My cat Marilyn Monroe has been safely and happily walking with this wonderful harness for weeks now. I would very much recommend it!

This works wonderfully for one of my cats that hates a cat box. It attaches like a seatbelt (Honda Civic) with a very short lead. The harness is very secure, although it's not suitable for my other cat (half Bengal) who can get out of it easily but then again she can remove all types of cat collars, open doors and turn on taps so I don't feel I can blame the product there...

This seemed to be well made and a godsend for anyone who has a cat who would tolerate it. Unfortunately ours didn't. He went absolutely ballistic and could have got injured quite easily after repeatedly bronco kicking four foot in the air. When we did catch him the harness unclipped easily. I would suggest trialing it in a locked room with not too much furniture.

It's very well made and seems quite comfortable except that my cat is small so the straps are shortened by pulling the adjuster to the clip, which means they are quite heavy at the point where the attach to the clip and both being on the same side it makes the whole harness slip round.

This is a beautifully designed harness that gives much more security than the normal harness you get for a cat. I travel a great deal and my cat prefers to sit on a seat with a harness and the seatbelt lead to being in a box. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

The harness is very easy to fit on my cat and he feels more comfortable with this than the full-body vests or the thin-strapped ones. The fittings are nice and large enough to fasten very easily. I like the extra-long lead, too. The colour is also fab.
