I totally recommend these.. A good design, easy to put together & to operate in use. Good that it has a storage compartment on top, handy for pet documents (Like vaccination records.. lol.. the vet's bill :) or treats to be stored in.Another so you could put your hand in to stroke & comfort your pet.The cage door is nicely moulded, nice smooth moulding edges, decent size 'about 1" square' gaps.. so your cat will not scratch or bruise his nose if they get distressed or hate going to the vets, not like some in the past that my cats have rubbed the skin off their noses, trying to force their way out through the openings.. either because openings are too small or had sharp/rough edges. When you first assemble the individual parts, you might think that the top main body is a bit flimsy.. it's not, once assembled.. this is a rock solid carrier, the handle is securely attached.. I have the Xtra Large version of this same type too, for my 7.5kg Bengal/British Shorthair Cross.. Rock solid design & feel, copes easy with his weight no sign of flexing or if it's about to give , large enough inside with spare real estate for him.. he is long, tall & .. Big & powerful!Another nice feature is the easy removal of the 2 main body parts, with 5 clip locks around the body.. you know how your cat usually hates going into a carrier.. then refuses to come out at the vets!! just quickly remove & separate the top shell, open topmost 2 door locks too, leaving your cat exposed to the vet! no need to reach inside to try and pull your stubborn & reluctant darling out!The seatbelt fixing is also a plus point.. been invaluable a couple of times due to some of the idiots on our roads now, saved my cats & carrier flying into dash or passenger foot well !!I've had my 2 Trixie carriers for years, especially the extra large one.. so can testify to their robustness & longevity.. Nothing broke or deteriorating yet.. Look no further for a decent quality cat carrier that will last years! Often a good price too on here!Totally Happy & Pleased with mine.. would not consider anything else!

This carrier marks the end of a long battle between myself and my cat! She has always been terrified of travelling compared to other cats I've had. Previous trips to the vet usually involved a stressful combination of persuading, coaxing, pushing, shoving, tempting, tricking and folding her into a box. I've tried every method advised under the sun of putting her in forwards, backwards, holding her legs ("just tip the box up, hold her back legs and drop her in - easy!". Not easy when her hind legs have the strength of an ox.) I have been on a 4-year long and expensive journey of buying or borrowing various shapes and sizes of carriers, plastic ones, cages (covered and uncovered),expensive ones and cheap ones, but all ending in the same scenario with one very distressed cat and one very upset and embarrassed owner. At my last vet trip, I arrived with the usual scene of kitty howling like she's the most tortured animal on the planet, plus the inevitable "accident" in the bottom of the box, me red-faced from rushing, late after the hour-long ordeal of getting this far, and embarrassed in front of the other happy, quiet animals and their smug owners. Then a lovely couple kindly took pity on me and showed me their Trixie carrier. So I bought one and haven't looked back! Now it takes 30 seconds to scoop her up in one arm, plonk her in the bottom and quickly put the top half over her. As long as I hold that down I then have my other hand free to close the clips one by one. We toddled off to the cattery, happy as Larry, arriving early. As other people have said, the clips were stiff to put on at first. But in my mind that is far outweighed by the fact that my pet is happy and not distressed and I no longer have to take half a day off work just to get her into the box! Happy days indeed.

I owned an earlier version of this box, both were equally difficult to assemble but my stronger brother had much less trouble, it's ok apart from the handles on top.Not a huge fan of the colours preferred them the other way around (red where grey is now) and the black handles are less attractive but didn't put me off buying or using. The door seems to be quite hard to get open is the only thing, not sure if this is a bad thing or not as the old one was too easy, perhaps this will loosen with age but at the moment it needs a bit of force to open. There's one flap on the roof with a hole underneath it, handy if you need to secure an animal so it doesn't rush out,the other flap seems to just be their for symmetry as it leads to nothing, but you could fit paper or something small in the little flap.Lightweight and a good size, could fit small dog/large cat/large rabbit in easily, my miniature Yorkshire Terrier looks tiny beside it.Only reason I bought this one was that I lost the door for the old one, I got it in Tesco years ago and its been in the garden and tossed all around it in recent storms and still perfectly intact. Also it was a smaller size so this is to replace my larger pet box as well as the small one.Definitely recommend, so far so good.

Trixie seems a reliable brand, and this item is no exception : the plastic is sturdy and of good quality, the design is well thought out... I am quite happy with this box !What really makes the difference with other similar products, is the added features : the door can be removed completely, you can attach a strap to the little rings at the top to carry the box like a sports bag, one of the top doors will let you pet or push the animal from the top, and the other door locks a little compartment for a bit of dry food, accessories, etc, and the 2 funny-shaped slits along the top edges are for a car safety belt !

I love this carrier, really sturdy, feels much safer than the smaller one I bought from a UK pet store chain. Most large carriers I've looked at don't have seat belt grips, this one does. The fact that it opens on the top is an added bonus for long journeys. My only problem is I can't get the handle on, I'm not strong enough but the rest was a doddle to out together.Highly recommend this carrier.

17.4.2015

Only criticism is that it is entirely plastic so not the strongest and I wouldn't reccommend buying for long journeys or regular use. It also has a few rough edges and you have to put it together yourself. If you are wanting something reasonably priced with the intention of using for short journeys or trips to the vet then this is perfect for you.

The large carrier I had the catches weren't the same as this. I have arthritis so found it difficult to lock properly. I have the smaller model of this for my other cat but Billie is a large cat. Found and bought this carrier. So pleased with it and I can lock ir properly in the knowledge my cat won't get out. Highly recommended.

Fiddly to put together as the quality isn't completely great. So you have to be careful with the pieces otherwise you'll snap them. Its also very large, I bought it for a large tomcat and he could live in it. Fitting it in the car is also an issue so if you want a carrier for vet visits for a large cat you need a smaller carrier.

We had an issue with a damaged carrier but the seller was prompt and friendly in their contact emails. The issue was remedied immediately and a new carrier was in the post within 24 hours. Very happy with my purchase!I am really pleased with it, it looks great, is strong and plenty big enough for my medium sized poorly kitty.

I have an average tabby at about 5k and this works perfect for him. Room to move about and lie down. Nice hand hole at the top to provide reassurance if needed. It feels sturdy and although it's 'big' to carry, I would not want anything smaller for him and suits my needs.

Very good cat carrier - looks even nicer in real life than in picture due to its pastel blue colour. It's self-assembled but easy enough to do, and takes about 5 minutes. It looks sturdy, and has a hatch (with a lid) through which you can stroke your cat.

30.12.2011

As first time cat owners, we didn't really know what product to get, but this absolutely does the job and was great value for money. Having the two holes in the roof is useful. Our cats like it so much we leave it out for them to sleep in if they want to.

10.4.2018

Quite a few reviews say this was difficult to put together. Follow the instructions and it's a piece of cake, though certain aspects require you to have quite strong fingers.Looks good, seems sturdy enough for under £20, and should be a good one

11.10.2016

This is a good carry case and it is a decent size for a Ragdoll cat, opens easily and the opening on the top is useful. The only issue I have is that I have been sent the wrong colour but aside from that is is an okay product for the price

Good carrier. It feels sturdy and I really like the stroking flap on the top. The other door on the top has just enough space for vaccination cards. The slot for a seatbelt Is a great feature too.
