I have had this lamp for over a year now and its pretty amazing. It is a smallish self-contained light with the power of a lighthouse. As with all things, you need to read and understand the fitting instructions. If you do not tighten the red strap first, it will slide around, but that is not a fault of the light but rather the person fitting it. I have had no issues with movement in over a year.Once charged up via USB and fitted you turn on to the lowest setting by holding the + button for a second. Hold it for 3 seconds and its turns on to its highest setting. There are five brightness levels. The beam pattern is rectangular and make sure that its pointing down or you will dazzle other road users. You step through the brightness levels with a + and - button. It really is easy to do, even with gloves on. Hold the - button and the light turns off.It has proper fuel gauge, with hours and minutes left in numbers at the top and a five point bar down the side. It has a massive duration especially when set on low. I have left it turned on all day by mistake and it still had enough power for a one hour ride in the evening.I used to have two lights, one in use and one just in case, but not any more. No point in running another lamp besides this one as it is so bright, you will not see the other. It does not have a flash mode and when you have another flash lamp beside it, you do not see the flash. It really is that bright.I only use it on the road, the beam is quite specific and whilst you can see for miles with it, I would not use it off road amongst trees.

I bought this light knowing that the attachment system is terrible. Believe me the light is fantastic as others have written, but the clamp is of the lowest cheapest quality and design. For this reason I'm deducting one star. I live in Germany and "benefit" from the slightly better light bracket. Although I never used the strap design that many complain about, I can say the "better" version is not very good either. The bracket is simply a very bad design and needs to be changed.Trelock state in their promotion material "German innovation since 1854" It's now 2015 and they should NOT continue to disappoint their customers and degrade their reputation with a very badly designed cheap plastic "hose clamp" type attachment system for their A class bike lamp. What a shame. The system is so bad that I doubt I could use the clamp twice. Once it is unscrewed, the plastic thread's ability to tighten again has been lost. One would need to purchase another bracket if moving to another bike or relocating lamp on the same bike.Update: I used the light today on a very rough path through a forest and I was surprised that the lamp did not move at all. It appears to be holding. When I look at the components attached to the handlebars, I'm amazed at how well everything is made - brake levers, gear shifters, bell, shock absorber lock-out etc, etc. If Trelock took 3 minutes to look at how everyone else gets it right - then maybe they'd manage to make a better attachment system.

I have one of these now for a couple of years. Its not bright enough to compete with the mega lanterns of the off road variety but for commuting its perfect. Plenty of battery life for those long rides and the countdown LED is one of the best things about it. I wish others would do the same. Had mine 2 years now. Not had any issues with it so far. The USB charger cover did come off ages ago but that does not seem to have corroded or been any problem charging so expecting a few more years use at least.

Once you find the red lever to lock the strap prior to closing the outer clasp I had no issues with the stability of the light. Also if your on full power and the battery runs low it starts to reduce power to increase battery life. Excellent safety precaution. Power is sufficient to commute on pitch black winter mornings in confidence. For the price I can fault this light.

Excellent light for commuting. Bright vision for you without blinding others and with a battery indicator that actually works. The bracket has room for improvement, but no big issue for me (I've attached a rubber strap under it).

I have more powerful bike headlights, but none that put the light so useably on the road as this. the long runtime, the fuel gauge, the easy attachment...an excellent light for all road riding, city through dark countryside.
