This is great, yep really cool. From the music (molotov, delinquents and co), to the feel of this little fire cracker, you know your onto a winner as you empty both of your sawn off shotguns into some gringo's chest in slow motion dive "SPICEY MOVE"This is not as flash or polished as the GTA series from 3 onwards, damn shame. Glitches in later levels crop up, disapearing cars leaving their drivers floating in the air, or,my fave as you runing towards a car to escape with bullets literaly churning up the dirt behind you, you get with in jumping distance and the damn thing vanishes! The game has a nice learning curve, you get use to smacking the bad guys with your drivers door as you cruise by,and then flooring it towards a group of them, and leaping from your car, twisting in slow motion and takeing out two guys on your right as your car blow up takeing his group of mates out, all in one mouth watering move. Some bits are, well tagged on, jump a car, or the one motor bike and you get a cinematic slow mo picture, but that's it, no extar distance points, or awards. I have to agree with teh one reviwet above, the cars have endless gear shifts, and handle poorly to GTA3 etc. And I don't realy think it needs an "18" certificate.BUT this is soooo much more fun, enjoyable that the GTA games,I really hope they bring out a more indepth, gritty, polished second installment out on the 360.The only comparsions I can make is that Max Payne moved to GTA town, watched "despirado" and "once upon a time in mexico" and went on a rampage. It may be bugged. it may be watered down, and it ain't the nicest game to look at, but hey it rocks!

If the world was like some Hollywood movies, then Mexico would be a sun-blazing, sweating, shooting, tequilla-drinking, chicken-ridden desert country.Total Overdose goes the Hollywood-way, and boy, it's fun! From the moment you insert the disc, a Desperado/Mariachi ensemle of stereotypes and clichés will have you laugh out loud at all the cheeziness, right down to wrestlers and maraccas... With due respect for any Mexican out there, of course...Much like GTA, when roaming around the map, the player finds hidden objects, completes side-missions for unlockables, and progresses on the main story. But it's not enough to shoot or blow up whatever you fancy, it's important to do it in style,as you'll earn upgrades and unlock other capabilities, the more outrageous way you dispatch your compadres, the better!Graphics wise, it's nothing much, we've seen better elsewhere, but we're not here to admire the landscape, only to blow it up or riddle it with bullets, thanks to the good old and trusty Havok physics engine. As for sound and music: workable, no news there, with good music that adds to the flavour. In summary, a must for GTA-lovers!

From the moment I put this in my Xbox DVD tray I knew it was going to be a cracker. Intense gunfights, GTA style free-roaming, and the loco moves... This is quite simply one of the best games for sale at the moment. I do have a couple of problems with it though.1. It's just a bit too short. Don't get me wrong, I mean there are hundereds of side missions and hidden items to collect and do, but the main story missions took me only two days.2. It's a little bit buggy. Such as when you catch a taxi, when you arrive at your destination and get out, the taxi has been replaced a different car.Aside from these, it is an amazing game, with loads of cool moves, jokes and places to explore. From me it gets an 86%,purely because it's destruction aspect is overshadowed by Mercenaries. But this is definately a must have and a great, and very fun game to play.I bought it, so should you. ^_^

If anyone out there is in 2 minds as to whether they ought to buy this game or not, BUY IT! This game totally rocks! It's not as polished as any of the GTA series (3 onwards), but still offers unstructured free roaming GTA style gaming. For instance, when you drive a car at speed, it seems to change gear over and over again as though its got a never ending gearbox. GTA cars have a sound which matches their speed. But this certainly isn't a bad point. The special moves that can be performed are very easy to learn (and damn handy too!)and immersing yourself in the game is easy and very quick. In short, this game is basically another GTA style free roaming game that will have you addicted to it in mere minutes.Well worth the money and definately deserves 5 stars.

If I were to choose one word to describe this game it would have to be FUN! Honestly this is the third most fun game I have played( the first two being the Serious Sam games). The incredible amount of satisfaction you get out of getting a head shot with a pistol whilst doing a slow motion dive through the air is stunning. I would stongly recommend this game to anyone. It's even better than GTA!!!
