I'm a keen cyclist, riding thousands of miles a year. I have four different shape and size Topeak saddle bags, both for different bikes and for different uses. These bags last, they really do. I've had a couple of mine for years and they've done thousands of miles, both on and off road, being repeatedly covered in mud and hosed off etc. In my experience the build quality will not let you down. This particular review is for the Topeak Mondopack XL in the straps design rather than the clip-on.I bought this bag for use on longer rides, all day touring sort of thing. Normally I would buy the F25 clip-on version but the strap version was a bit cheaper at the time so I took a risk.In actual fact the straps fit both on my mountain bike and road bike saddles perfectly and the bag feels very secure when fitted, probably helped a lot by the fact that it has two velcro straps around the seat post too. It's not going to flap around behind you which is the main thing. However, if you already have an F25 clip fixer on your bike, you will have to whip that off to fit this bag - it's a 30 second job, but a bit of a pain. If that's a problem, buy the clip version instead. It's a BIG bag. Seriously. You really need to check if you have enough seat post showing in order to fit it on otherwise it'll hit your frame at the bottom. It fitted both my mountain bike and road bike but I have the saddle well up on those, maybe 9" or so. Although big, it's a very well shaped bag, filling the space under your saddle nicely, and also being tapered at the sides (looking from behind) so that it doesn't hit your legs when pedaling. It's also curved at the bottom to make sure it curves away from your seat post and frame to prevent any rubbing there. It's clearly been well thought out.It has two compartments - one very big side opening with a mesh net on the opening (perfect for phone!). Inside here you can easily fit a couple of spare tubes, food, phone, a waterproof etc, no problem at all with plenty of room to spare. At the rear there is then another expanding section to make this main section even bigger. I've never even needed this. For a days ride, I can't see why you'd need any more room - it's that big.On the opposite side, there is a smaller compartment clearly designed for tools, with little stretchy loops which are perfect for your multi-tool, CO2 canisters, tyre levers etc. You can also hide some energy gels in there. A spare tube would need to go into the main compartment though.Downsides, well it's not fully waterproof. The rear of the bag probably IS waterproof so it should survive well from general spray off the road, but the sides are made of the same stuff as every other Topeak bag and whilst very durable and water resistant, they are not water proof..If it's space you want, look no further! Just check you have the space. And don't let the straps design put you off this particular one - it seems to work very well.

Superb seat pack, roomy and really looks the business fitted to a seat tube. Measuring 32cm end to end it's fairly long so make sure you have enough room for fitting. Great for attaching to a small wheeled/folding bike as you have plenty of seat post to play with. As others have previously mentioned it's big, although I wouldn't go as far as to say it would replace a full sized back pack, certainly enough space for a days provisions though.I would recommend the Mondo XL over the Hydro with the bottle mesh as the XL has more room inside.Ideal for carrying a small set of tools just in case.

Very roomy. Big enough for tools, spares, pump, food, wallet, phone, spare jersey, light water proof. No need for a back pack for day touring.

Very good quality, ideal for the mountain bike, you fit everything you need and you forget about the backpack.
