Compact, tough, and versatile, this is probably the most well-known bike tool for good reason. This is the third I’ve owned, and the mark 2 offers a number of subtle but significant improvements over the mark 1. My only two niggles are that the tiny component/tool in the centre still becomes dislodged and gets lost, and that the two halves of the Alien can separate a little too easily over time. But I’ll still buy a fourth Topeak Alien when I either lose or wear out this one.
