This saddle bag would be excellent but for one design flaw, the seat post attachment. That said, the issue is surprisingly easy to remedy by cutting the original strap a little and using an additional length of Velcro to wrap it around the seat post. After my bag strap broke, I received a refund from Amazon (Thank you). They informed me that I did not have to return the bag and that I could do with it what ever I wanted. As a result, I considered how I might fix the fastening and have included this detail in my review.Attaching to bike————————-The bag is attached to the seat frame with two straps on the sides and one Velcro strap to attach it to the seat post. The seat post strap is crucial to the effective use of the bag as it must prevent the bag from spilling it’s contents when un-clipping the sides before opening the zipper. In use——-To use the bag, you must first undo the quick release clips to drop the bag down from the top of the seat. Done correctly, the clip ends remain in place for very easy securing once you’re finished. I have read loads of reviews where this point is not understood, leading to damage to the bag as it is very difficult to operate the three sided zip without first undoing the clips.Due to the design and the top opening downwards, nothing falls out. I keep my money and credit card in the netted pocket on the opening.Capacity————I can carry all essentials in this, the smallest of Topeak’s range of bags; inner tube, multi tool, puncture repair kit, credit card & money.Faults?———The seat post attachment is appalling as it is a weak Velcro strap with a needless single slip through buckle. The problem is that there is almost no Velcro to fasten it with once it is attached. When cleaning my bike down after only the first outing, I came to reattach the bag and the strap simply snapped, rendering the whole thing useless.Come on Topeak, you are better than this. You need to put on a decent buckle fastener or even just a better Velcro strap. These saddle bags are an excellent design but this fitting lets them and Topeak down. Used whilst riding when it fails and it would let the rider down too, possibly spoiling the day.Fixes or mods?——————-As this bag is such a great design, if you were prepared to modify the post attachment by cutting off a section of post strap and fitting a simple Velcro strap to the remainder, you would over come the flaw and have, for £10, an excellent bag.I will attach a picture of my simple fix.I hope that this review helps someone make a more informed decision

Five starts because there are too few quick release seat bags available and this one tics almost all the boxes.I loved my 2014 REI Novara large expandable bag (110-164ci-cubic inches) but installing a Thudbster seat post with it's parallelogram mechanism up top induced stress when rotating it on and off, resulting over a year in the breakage of the receiving part of the quick release pair. This pack slides in and tab-locks from the back; there's zero chance of encountering resistance. Unless you're one of the unlucky folks who've been reporting instances of the pack's leading edge being too long, contacting the seat post and disallowing the QuickClick to lock. Some of this will depend upon how forward the saddle is positioned, because this bag's clamp can only attach to the long flat low parts of the seat rails, not the back part of the seat rails that angle up and away from each other. There's no denying that there's a lot of bag in front of where Topeak attaches the female part of the QuickClick pair. If your seat is very forward you might run out of "nose" room with this large bag (no matter whether it's expanded or not since it expands rearward). In that case the medium size of this product would probably work for you. In any case there is some amount of slack because fabric is flexible. Unless you clamp your seat very forward on its rails, this bag allows clearance for at least a short-travel Thudbuster shock absorbing seat post. Lastly, you need a minimum clearance of 6.5" between the bottom of the seat rails and bottom of the nose of the large size bag.For me the major bene's and requirements are large capacity (expanded this bag is 120ci) and QuickRelease; because of the many expensive tools and components I store inside this bag goes with me inside coffee shops, etc. I like that the rear hatch has thin gussets that limit its travel when open to parallel to the ground, making sort of a shelf. I like the mesh pocked on that flap. I wish Topeak put mesh on both sides of the inside too. Even accounting for the expansion, the rear section could have mesh sleeves and the forward section pockets; this would accommodate users of both configurations. And it'd be nice were the bottom reinforced with the same plastic used to shape and strengthen the top (I was able to canabalize my broken Novara bag's bottom section and the plastic piece works perfectly, nesting against a seam..Lastly, the one I received is all black. The top and bottom fabric textures are as pictured but the bottom on mine is as black as the top.

Fits an inner tube, levers, multitool and patch kit with room to spare. Definitely can fit a CO2 inflator and a canister or two on top of that; alternatively, might be able to fit a second tube if you unzip the volume extension bellows. Will NOT fit a typical smartphone, even when extended, unless it's otherwise empty — I got a Nexus 5X, which is not very large by today's standards (I'm describing the size medium bag here, large will probably accommodate a phone, but will take up more space on your seat post).Fits the saddle quite snugly and securely. There's some leeway to position it higher or lower on the seat post, although I haven't ridden with it yet so I don't know if it won't just slide down from the vibrations; even so it should be possible to put an o-ring or something similarly grippy below it to act as a stop and keep it up. Leaves enough room underneath to mount a light on your seat post, although that probably will differ with frame sizes and amount of seat post extension, and it's got a hoop for mounting a light directly on the bag otherwise. Note that with the volume bellows extended the back side of the bag will no longer be vertical and any light mounted on it might point somewhat skywards; this will probably vary with seat tube angle, but not by much. The straps that pass through the saddle rails are a bit of a pain to thread through the rails, but that's probably true for all bags without a quick clip, and it also comes in a quick clip version if you find straps are too much hassle. There's a weird elasticated hoop on the underside that I cannot figure a use for. Probably could fit a very tiny pocket pump, but mine is about 25cm and I'm not confident it will hold it securely.

This bag is awesome! I can't give it enough of a good review! I over researched buying a bag as I just began road riding and wanted to make sure I could carry everything I would need to repair a flat. I wanted the bag to look good on the bike and this bag does just that. I wanted the quick release bag from Topeak (they make a real nice waterproof bag) but the stock attachment doesn't fit road seat bars. While looking at reviews everyone else started to make me nervous but I can assure you that this bag should suit most people. I am usually an over packer and was worried that the small would not be big enough. However, I was able to get a tube, tire levers, a small multi tool,an iphone (this was something huge for me because I wanted to make sure it held my phone) no one seems to write about what phones they have or complain that bags can't hold their phones. This bag definitely does and it also has a strap on the bag for attaching a rear light and even has reflective tape on the outside. What's best about this bag is that it looks great on the bike! I don't know why amazon shows the picture of the bike with the GIANT saddle bag but I can assure you that it is not that big at all. The bag snugs up real tight against the seat with the straps and feels very secure. This bag looks great. I would also checkout the waterproof bag that Topeak makes. 4 stars because why not add a waterproof zipper or make it waterproof or have options for the quick release bag for road size seat bars

Make no mistake, this is not going to fit anything more than you need. Before I give more of my thoughts, this is what I was able to just barely get into the pack:2 Continental Race Light tubes2 CO2 16 gram cartridges1 CO2 mini inflation head2 tire irons1 Park Tools 13/15 wrench4 patches1 piece of sandpaper1 patch glue tubeI had to get very creative with the above to get it all in the pack, but all of it does fit. In order to get all this inside, you do have to sort of push the sides of the pack out a bit, but again, it all does fit. Also, I should point out my Continental tubes are fairly light and because of that, smaller than a lot of other tubes so if you're tubes aren't under 100 grams each, you may only get one in here. Also, you could get a license and credit card in as well but not car keys or a multi tool. If you want car keys and a multi tool, you'll definitely need to remove one tube from the equation.Other than what it fits, the material and craftsmanship is very good; this isn't fall apart anytime soon. The only reason I took a star off is you get a fixer F25 with this pack, not an F11. The F25 is going to work for most applications but I felt it was misleading and false to place that in the tagline. With that said, if you just want a pack that will handle the absolute essentials, this will do just fine.

I'm a keen cyclist, riding thousands of miles a year. I have four different shape and size Topeak saddle bags, both for different bikes and for different uses. I use the clip on design with F25 mounts so that they can easily be moved between bikes. The F25 fixer seems to fit any saddle with standard rails, from a road bike to a mountain bike. These bags last, they really do. I've had a couple of mine for years and they've done thousands of miles, both on and off road, being repeatedly covered in mud and hosed off etc. In my experience the build quality will not let you down. This particular review is for the Topeak Aero Wedge bag in MICRO size.I use this as my standard every day bag on a Sportive Road bike.It carries essential tools, spares and everything to fix a puncture.I've had The micro size for years and it has done literally thousands of miles both on and off road and still looks pretty new. Build quality is excellent! It will comfortably hold a 700c tube, levers, patch kit and a multi tool (the hexus in my case). There is a nice compartment at the side for the multi tool and a small pocket inside the opening which is perfect for a small patch kit. After that lot it will still close without forcing but there's little room for much else. Attach a pump to your bike and you've all all the essentials!

Some may scoff at a bag so big on a mountain bike but for me it adds options and is the perfect size for a day out on the trails and roads. The extending portion which can be unzipped adds that welcome extra bit of space in case you need to fit those full gloves or other slightly bulky item in. Mostly I have in mine one innertube, a few tools, tyre levers, puncture repair kit, sandwiches and other food goodies, compact camera, money, house keys, mobile phone. There is a pouch inside the flap for your keys or other items you want to keep tidy and in easy reach. The zips feel like good quality. The clip is very strong, hasn't come undone in all the rigorous riding I've done so far,the saddle post Velcro strap works well. I don't find that it moves around too much as the clip keeps it in place at the top, and it doesn't interfere with my legs or bum when riding drop-offs.If you're riding trails all day then I highly recommend this, if you're just doing stints from a base camp or car then you probably don't need one so big. I use this in conjunction with a water bottle container, I can fit an extra layer or pair of gloves etc in the water bottle which can make the difference between a good ride and an uncomfortable ride when you're twenty miles away from anywhere.

I've had this back strapped to my bike for three years now. I purchased the one with two straps because I wanted to avoid the plastic clip. This is a great pack and holds a lot. I like the cornucopia shape; the large opening makes it easy to use the pack. The velcro straps work well keeping the pack attached to the bike. I don't have any problems with it moving around or rubbing against my legs when I ride. The back of the pack has a strap sewn onto it so you can attach a light/reflector if you wish. In my pack I have a spare inner tube, a large multitool, an innertube patch kit and two tire levers. There is a mesh pocket on the rear flap that is great for holding small extras.I put a spare battery and a work gadget that is a bit smaller than a lighter. I also can fit my Razor phone in here too. I commute to/from work fairly regularly so I open/close it often. The zipper is very sturdy. I have yet to try it in expanded mode. This pack is well constructed and roomy. The large mesh pocket is very nice feature. I highly recommend this pack.Edit: I'm taking away one star because this is not waterproof. I rode home on slightly wet roads and noticed there was wetness inside when I took out my cell phone. I still like the pack though; it holds a lot.

Finally decided to get a pack to make carrying supplies easier on rides. I was worried about fitting all of my supplies and had trouble deciding whether to get the small or medium size but would say the small is perfect. To give anyone else wondering a sense, I fit: one spare road tube, patch kit, tire levers, cards/drivers license, cash, smartphone and small ring of keys (say four or five keys). In response to some of the other reviews, I would say I have not had any trouble fitting my phone (a wide screen smartphone) in the space. To be fair, I might have trouble fitting the inner tube of my 70's era bike with its wider tires or a mountain bike, but there's actually a fair amount of space left.In any case, there's definitely no room for fresh fruit or veggies, so plan on having small snacks like fruit leather if anything.UPDATE: thought I'd write a little update on the snacks aspect. I went out for a century and really wanted to have some emergency snacks so I got a bit creative with packing and was able to fit a ziplock bag with about 30 pretzel sticks (the little ones) and a clementine, along with all the things I listed above. So I'm definitely happy with the amount of supplies I can fit into the small sized pack.

I am big fan of topeak and they continue to impress me with this wedge pack. First, it is a very nicely styled and appears to be high quality. Second, it is easily attached and strong. Third, it is the exact size that I want. Not too big or not too small. I could fit a spare tire, topeak alien II tool, park tool vulcanizing patch kit, park tool tire levers and either my keys or wallet. I could probably squeeze my phone, wallet and keys but then I will have to take out my spare tire and just rely on patch kit. Most of the time, I am carrying a backpack for my 10 pounds of locks so I just put my wallet, keys and phone in there. Lastly, I thought it would be good idea to have some sort of locking mechanism for the zipper.Maybe have a little opening in the zipper where you could put a little padlock? Also something locking the straps. However a thief could use a knife to cut straps. I don't like constantly taking it off and on but it is the smartest thing to do with all those thieves out there. I highly recommend this wedge pack. Use it as a tire kit as you don't want to be 10 miles away, with a popped tire and you are walking the bike back. Even worse, you are in the woods and it is getting dark. You can't be too safe.

Topeak kit is always good quality. I already have the larger version of this pack on another bike, and if I am honest I bought this size in error, but I have just had to learn to carry less. It still easily carries a Topeak Race Rocket Mini Pump, 20" spare tube, spanners, multi tool, latex gloves, puncture repair kit etc. I don't use it for clothing as I am usually wearing my waterproofs or have them packed somewhere else on the bike. The clip system can be a bit fiddly to use as there isn't much room for me to get my fingers between saddle and pack, but when the pack is on you hear an audible click. The larger one, which carries more kit for a larger wheeled bike, has never once let me down.It has stayed secure and the contents have remained dry in even the worst of deluges. The bag is stabilised with an attached length of velco and a buckle. It all works really well. There is a web pocket inside the flap for carrying small items. Put your latex gloves in here to remind you to put them on before taking on dirty work.If you want to be able to move the bag between bikes look at the other type of fitting available in the range, basically a strap-on.

I fit my keys (three house keys, small carabiner, mini-USB stick, bottle opener, and Nissan keyless key thing), Topeak Hexus II Multi-tool, $20, a large carabiner, a bungee cord, the key to my cable lock, tire patches and a partridge in a pear tree, and I still have room for more, AND I can still expand it for even more.I have a 19" Specialized Hardrock Disc frame on 26" wheels, and this fits under the seat like it's not even there. Seatpost strap and two adjustable clasps. The clasps adjust tightly and have not loosened with medium to medium heavy riding. It's cushioned inside well, I don't hear anything bouncing around, and the pack itself stays tight on the frame/seat and doesn't make a racket.Medium seems to be the best size.Any bigger and it would be obnoxious. Any smaller and it wouldn't fit the normal amount of stuff.Note that this pack will allow you to use a Topeak MTX Trunk Bag EXP Bicycle Trunk Bag with Rigid Molded Panels ([...] and the Topeak Explorer Bicycle Rack with Disc Brake Mounts ([...] without having to take off this bag. It's a close fit, but it's perfect. (Both these products are also 5 star quality)

I had thought about ordering the larger size of this bag, but now I'm glad I didn't. This one just fit on my bike to where I attached the lower strap to my seat bar without having to move my reflector around, and the top straps into my seat without having to make any adjustments there, either.I hadn't been unzipping and using the "extender" aspect of this bag until recently, but it does add quite a bit more room without causing any issues. I'm able to carry an extra tube, CO2, tire levers, my phone, keys, ID, credit card, cash and snacks like a protein bar or energy shots/gels, all at the same time in this bag. There is only one "compartment" inside the bag,so if you really must keep some items completely separate from others, you might want to look elsewhere. However, there is a netted compartment where I usually slide my ID and other thin items, and I usually just hide my key behind the ID to keep the key from potentially scratching my phone or otherwise causing damage. This seems to work well. Plus, I recently purchased a tail light that clips perfectly on the strap on the back. Overall, this is a great product.

After getting my first road bike I decided it might be an idea to carry a small pack for a tube, levers, multi tool, patches etc. Saw this one whilst browsing and know Topeak are a good brand so decided to get one.Firstly sizing....I read loads of reviews on how massive the large ones are and how big the medium ones are, I read a few saying the small is pretty big so I opted for the small, and yeah it's pretty big. I reckon I can fit a couple of tubes in there, my multi tool slots handily in the back of the flap and there's definitely room for some sticky patches and levers, size is good. The side straps tend to hang down so I have wrapped them round the saddle twice and this seems to cure it,the velcro strap for the stem is long and if you tighten it all the way up you run out of velcro, these are minor gripes though as the bag seems very well made. I look forward to stuffing it fully.I will pop a couple of pics on, my bike is a 58cm frame and the bag is a small size. I reckon you could fit a body in the large.Update...I have now done a couple of rides and the bag is excellent, you don't know it's there

Shopped until I dropped, most also ran's were over priced, lesser quality than the Topeak. Got the medium although the large cost just slightly more but glad I did as the large would have stuck out beyond the seat. This carries my spare tube, CO2 inflator, multitool and tire irons, not much room beyond that but that is all the real estate I am willing to use back there. Would be nice to have a little more room, I perhaps could cram a couple more items in there but right now food and other essentials get put in my shirt/jacket pockets. This is a well made unit and is easy to remove from the sea frame. Expect it to last several years.I opted for the strapped version over the more sophisticated clip-in design due to the negative reviews and just the gut feel that the rigidity of the clip in system would not fully support the bag over time, would eventually either snap off at the mount or sag and tear. The strap version, while not as slick, it smarter because it is naturally suspended and can flex and move with the motion of the bike (road bike, btw). I ride 50-75 miles a week and this design works best for me.
